Hi everyone and I hope you are all doing well. Well we went out with some friends of ours last night to a Spanish restaurant near the Little Havana district of Miami called La Vasca Deli. We had never heard of it until our friends mentioned it as they said they really enjoyed it and were good friends with the owner. Now this restaurant is located in a very unassuming strip mall on SW 8 Street but do not let the location fool you as this restaurant is the real deal. It has deli section with lots of Spanish cheeses and other items; also, has a wonderful selection of Spanish wines. Hard to miss as there are bottles everywhere. The vibe was that of small European type cafe in Spain and Portugal and was very warm and cozy. The owners are especially nice and provided us with some complimentary bread and some home made crab and salmon spreads with Aoli that were awesome. The restaurant is small so reservations are definitely in order if you are thinking on checking them out and I really recommend that you do. What the owners are saving in operational overhead makes it's way to the quality of their food. We all decided to go Tapas style so we could try a little of the more popular dishes and I have to say it was the right approach. No need to worry on portion sizes either as they are excellent and perfect for sharing. From the home made ham and cod croquettes to the traditional lacón con papas, Spanish seafood medley "Mal de Vida" it was all fresh, made to order and delicious. We really had a wonderful time, eating and reminiscing which is what it's all about right? Parking can be a bit of a problem so if you can't find a spot in the strip mall itself, their is public street parking available and you can drive around back to the residential neighborhood and park anywhere you do not see a "No Parking" sign. Make sure you comply or your car will get towed. Overall, we had a wonderful time and we will be going back again and often! This cozy little gem is as good if not better than many of the upscale Spanish restaurants in Miami and for way less money. So if you find yourself in the Little Havana area or are willing to take a drive to taste some awesome Spanish food feel free to check them out. I am positive you will not be disappointed. Wishing you all a wonderful dining experience and bon appétit m'es amis!

I came solely for the Cheese Cake, ordered to go, during lunch rush hour, and the location was pretty busy Available parking on the back of the store Entering thru the deli and makes harder to place the order to go. Waiting time was about over 10 mins Cake was nicely packed and 5 stars for this review goes to the flavor of this Vasque Cheese Cake is really amazing, creamy, burnt to perfection and the caramel drizzle on top makes it delectable I forgive the long waiting time on the cramped entrance and i wil definitively come back for another piece of heaven This store is located one block south of the popular versailles restaurant. Now, I am due to come back and try the tapas and other food items i saw on the menu.

This is a hidden culinary jewel ! Our friends invited us and ordered the cochinillo in advance- omg ! Amazing. We had croquetas , camarones al ajillo & garbanzos fritos as appetizers- a great . The octopus looked amazing as well . The place holds about 50 people , which makes it super quaint and cozy . Highly recommended this place , just sad my father didn't get to try this place, since he loved Spanish food .

Good was delicious. We had the Fabada, ham and croquettes, fried garbanzos, frituras de bacalao, jarrete of lamb with potatoes and a crema de Catalan. All delicious. The house wine was also great. This is a place to come with time to enjoy the food and who you are with. We definitely recommend this restaurant.

La Vasca deli was very good. It is important to note that La Vasca is under new ownership as most reviews I read prior to coming here were about how rude the previous owner was. Well, I'm glad to report that this is no longer the case and that the new owners are extremely nice and pleasant. The food itself was also surprisingly good. Fresh ham, chorizo, really good manchego cheese, etc... all was very fresh and very good quality of products. To accompany our meal was very good bread and wine... important players in Spanish cuisine. The selection of wines is very good. Definitely a little bit for everyone's taste and budget. I'll be looking forward to coming back here soon and trying different things. A gem in an unexpected shopping center. My best wishes to the new owners.

Authentic Spanish with huge selection of wine. Small and perfect it feels like your home in Spain. Fast and friendly service and vibe. Also has market on the side.

The best pork spanish style in Miami. The owner really takes care of his clients. I really recommend this place

Piola is quickly becoming my go to neighborhood spot for an Italian fix…read more I am obsessed with the meatballs and have gotten them every time I have come here. The chicken parm is quite good and a large portion. Can be shareable between 2-3 people. The service was pretty quick on a quietish weeknight.

It was a frozen concoction of fresh pineapple and strawberry juice with wine based liquor and it was divine. I usually stay away from frozen drinks out of fear of sugar concentrated juices, but the fresh juices made the drink such a delight. I was a happy camper knowing I had another one coming after my first one. They make wine based cocktails that aren't very far from the real deal, so it's a great way to find some favorite drinks without going down the liquor rabbit hole. I had the meatballs which came swimming in a tasty marinara with a side of crusty bread. The meatballs were seasoned just right and perfect to munch on with my drink and the red wine that came afterwards. I mopped up the sauce with the bread and have no regrets. The staff and management knew I was holding a book club meeting and gave us a beautiful partially enclosed space with a table to seat 10 people surrounded by shelves of wine that they sell. If you order a bottle and it's a red, they'll take it right off the shelf and open it for you. Sometimes they have a half off wine bottle promotion, so it's good to go and check out what they have going on! The manager Rebecca and her staff took great care of a rambunctious group of hungry and thirsty bookworms and made us feel very welcome. I can't wait to hold another meeting there as an excuse to return!

Lost Boys is one of my favorite local bars. I have been coming here for years so long overdue…read morereview. I have been watching the World Cup games here and it has been very fun. I want to say the staff waiting the tables, bar, and kitchen have done an amazing job always friendly even when at times the bar was fully packed they were all troopers and gave amazing service. The biggest thing for me was the overall energy and engagement from the staff. I'm naturally a pretty social and engaged person, especially when I'm sitting at a bar, and I made an effort to interact with the bartenders. I just didn't really feel that same engagement coming back. Nobody was necessarily rude or disrespectful--it just felt disconnected, and the energy was a little strange to me. I also didn't realize until I tried to pay that the bar doesn't accept cash. Maybe that was posted somewhere and I missed it, and once they told me, it wasn't a big deal. But little things like that, combined with the overall interaction, affected the experience. Another thing I didn't realize until receiving my check was that gratuity was already included. I wasn't verbally told about it, and I personally didn't see it disclosed anywhere beforehand. From my understanding, an automatic gratuity or service charge is required to be disclosed to the guest before the purchase, not something they should only discover when they receive the check. Maybe there was a notice somewhere that I missed, so I'm not saying there wasn't one, but I definitely wasn't aware of it. I think that's an important thing for guests to know upfront, especially because someone could easily add another tip without realizing gratuity was already included. Ironically, the one person I genuinely connected with and had a good conversation with was another guest at the bar, not a member of the staff. That interaction actually helped make my time there more enjoyable. For me, hospitality is about more than serving a drink. Especially when someone is clearly open, friendly, and trying to engage, that's an easy opportunity to create a connection and turn a first-time guest into someone who wants to come back. I felt like I gave plenty of opportunities for that interaction, but it just never really happened. I still had a good time because I can have a good time pretty much anywhere, and nothing happened that would make me say Lost Boys is a bad bar. It just didn't feel like the staff cared much about enhancing the experience beyond serving the drinks. So four stars because I respect what the place is and can see why it works as a neighborhood bar. It just didn't give me a reason to come back, and personally, I don't think I would.
