FINNALLY!!!, I was able to say that this is the best Spanish restaurant outside of Spain that I had eaten. I had tried Spanish restaurants in all mayor US cities, including Jaleo in Orlando and this place is the winner. I am a former owner and cook of an Spanish restaurant and this place is 100% solid. Wow what a hidden gem! Please come try it for an authentic Asturian cuisine. The "Arroz meloso de rabo" is the perfect comfort dish, especially if you're an oxtail fan. Chef Andres is back! This place is one of the best authentic Spanish restaurants in Miami. The prices are reasonable, staff is friendly and the food is absolutely delicious no matter what you order. My go-tos are garbanzos that come with big delicious pieces of chorizos a la cidra; croquetas de jamon which are traditional Spanish croquetas loaded with bechamel and jamon serrano; gambas al ajillo and the steak medallions with the calabrese sauce are just amazing. My wife had a Spaniard client and he claimed that El Rincon Asturiano was Miami's best Spanish restaurant. We decided to go for a nice Saturday night dinner to see for ourselves if it meet expectations. Located in the heart of Little Havana in a two story strip mall you find this tavern like setting. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and we were seated right away. The menu here is very extensive so we ordered the following tapas octopus a la Galicia, grilled calamari, jamon Serrano, and Spanish omelette. All the tapas were very good however I wished the grilled calamari was grilled only with garlic instead of the caramelized onions which over powered the flavors. My wife ordered for her main entree seafood rice which included plump shrimps which also very tasty. For the kids we ordered fried fish fingers with rice, the fish fingers were a little bland. During our meal we enjoy a full jar of homemade sangria, which had perfect combination of wine and fruits. For dessert we kept it simple and ordered a crema Catalina, very creamy and sweet, my only complaint was too small. read more

This little spot seems to have a lot of regulars. We got a pitcher of sangria which gave us each over 2 glasses- there were 2 of us and it was good . We shared some tapas- Pam con tomate which was very good, huevos rotos con jamón, and grilled calamari which was not good- very tough and for $24 a waste. The tórrela was good but we are used to it cold and the cortado was just ok. Overall I think there are other better Spanish restaurants to try. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. read more

I recently had a wonderful late lunch at this Spanish gem in Little Havana. We started with tapas, of course. Two of us shared one of the best seafood paellas I'd ever had, while my other companion had an extremely fresh broiled fish with perfectly roasted potatoes. The atmosphere was cozy and conducive to sharing a bottle of rioja, which I rarely do while the sun is up. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Surprisingly good for being in an unassuming shopping center. The prices seemed a bit high for the area, but understand times are tough and it's a slightly higher end cuisine. We'd return and recommend if you're in the mood for some Spanish tapas. While we didn't order the paella, neighboring tables did and it looked fantastic. What a great find! Careful, because it is very easy to miss on 17th avenue. Actually, now that I think about it, perhaps it's better to be kept as a secret. :-) The interior is small but intimate. A very nice setup. There is also some outside seating should you choose to enjoy the fresh air. They also have a small bar inside. Not sure if people actually sit at it though. The staff was very friendly. We sat down and were attended to quickly. They have a nice selections of wine for the wine lovers. We were able to find some nice wine that suited our tastes. We ordered the chorizo in wine sauce to start. It was spot on! I've been to too many places here in Miami where you can get this dish and it basically tastes like vienna sausages in tomato sauce. This dish was super good. And of course there was bread to soak up the remaining wine sauce! Mmmmm good! I enjoyed a nice branzino with roasted veggies and my wife the pork with veggies. Looking for a Spanish restaurant that serves turron ice cream, I found Rincon Asturiano. Very authentic Cantabria cuisine. We ordered their best dish fabada asturiana very delicious a lot of meat, morcilla and chorizo. The staff is super warm friendly.. cod croquetas the filling was good but too much breading. Also their bread is to die for. But the turron ice cream and torta de Santiago are great!!!! Only one other restaurant has this delicious ice cream. Best of luck and many more years of services.
