    16oz Ribeye
    James K.

Yes! Meat On Ocean?! The name has two of my favorite words!!! Meat - YES, Ocean - YES How can this place not be a winner?! Came here for lunch with some colleagues. Service was spot on. Consistent but not overbearing. Great ocean view seating as well. I ordered the 16oz ribeye. It was not surprisingly cooked perfectly. Had the chimmichuri sauce on the side which was tasty but definitely not necessary. Everything we ordered was great. From apps to entrees. Would absolutely come back for more next time I'm in town.

I would give this place a 4.2. The food was very very good. The place is very clean. The views are to die for. The service was great. The food is definitely on the pricier side. However, with everything in mind, i'd say it was worth it. The food had great flavor and the french fries were delicious.

Reasonably priced (for a nicer steakhouse right on the waterfront). I decided to splurge and get the 45 day aged ribeye. They charge per oz. The total price was actually not that much different from the regular ribeye. I honestly wasn't like blown away but it just tasted like a standard good ribeye, not amazing but the price also wasn't crazy. I got the mashed potatoes and spinach meant to be shared (even though it was just me). For shareable sides they were also reasonably priced and pretty good quality. The best thing at this place is the view, even from the bar. In fact, I came here a couple more times just to grab a drink at the bar and enjoy the view!

Great food spot for something romantic, celebratory, business events!! It is exceptionally fine dining in my opinion. It looks beautiful inside and has the dimming lighting We ordered mocktails with our food & were delicious The food!! Wow the cuts for the steak were phenomenal & cooked medium rare The Mac and cheese were THE BEST! Our serve was very kind & attentive. Will go again!

Maybe I would recommend this establishment for dinner but definitely not for lunch. The view is nice because it's across from the beach. Food: The lunch menu we received, was very limited. The food was very ordinary and not good. There were 2 of us and we ordered 2 different meals and we both did not like what we ordered. I ordered their spring salad that says on the menu it comes with avocado and gives you the option to add a protein; I chose shrimp. See the pix posted for reference. The salad was served as a side salad and 4 shrimp on the plate as if those 4 shrimp were the main and they added a side of tartar sauce- for the shrimp? The salad also said it came with a vinaigrette dressing yet it tasted as if it only had lemon squeezed on it as the dressing. My husband ordered a steak sandwich which was meh . The bread had been smothered with sweet onions. He ate the steak and left the bread behind. Also didn't really like it nor the way it was served. The only thing we both agreed was very good and unique is their appetizer bread which they charge for $11 for lunch & that was worth it as the bread arrives warm & with butter & a lemon goat cheese spread. All in all, a Very overrated place. We don't mind paying high prices when the food is good. This food was not worth the price. The service: was good but we agreed we still wouldn't return.

    Calamari - delicious!

Beautiful view of the sunset. Huge dining area. Plenty of first class seating. Service was top notch. The food was ... OMG! The food was perfection! My sister got the aged rib-eye that was simply the best taste of rib-eye I have ever had. I would have been so disappointed that I didn't get it except that the Chilean sea bass I got was out of this world. (I can't believe I didn't get a photo of the sea bass!) The calamari was delicious too! We were both pleased with our meals. It was a wonderful experience!

I've been in the area a lot, but I never knew this place existed until someone told me about! Meat on Ocean is an underrated steakhouse, and they have one of the largest dry aging steak rooms in the country! They're most known for their dry aged steaks, but they offer a variety of steak and seafood. I decided to try the 45 day dry-aged steak based on the recommendations from the waiter, and it was so delicious! It had a nice nutty, earthy flavor and it was so tender. We also tried the sea bass and clam chowder, both which I also highly recommend. The clam chowder is probably one of my favorite ones I've had. For dessert, we tried the bread pudding and apple tart. I didn't care too much for the apple one, but the bread pudding is delicious! Service was good. The manager also made his rounds and was very friendly!

Food was decent - salad was really good considering it was a Caesar. Crispy, savory, and mouth watering. Filet mignon was on the bleu side but I'm fine with that if the meat is good quality. The meat was decent - not melt in your mouth decent but decent. Service was good considering I dined alone that night. Ambiance was beach side views, upscale, dimly lit, and steakhouse vibes.

We stopped here so random, and glad we did. Great customer service. The food was so yummy that I was going back and forth into food coma. Oysters were so fresh and the pork belly so tender and tasty. I also enjoyed the drinks and house bread. Really nice comfortable seating and spacious layout.

I was a little taken aback by this experience. While the food is delicious, the service was uncomfortable. We made reservations for a table with a view and were initially seated in the back. We asked to be Moved and the closest they could get us to the window seat we were offered over the phone was two tables away. For the price, there shouldn't be any dings in the experience.

This prime steakhouse and seafood restaurant sits above the Santa Monica beach on Ocean Blvd. It's a prime location close to the beach and famous Santa Monica pier. Sunset views are great here with the restaurants open air windows facing the ocean. We came in for our 25th wedding anniversary and the staff treated us so nicely. They made us feel special. The surf and turf was superb. We loved that it already came with mashed potatoes. They also gave you butter for the lobster and a sauce for the steak. It was all delicious. This a high quality steak restaurant with exceptional service. We loved it here.

We came here for a birthday celebration and it was the perfect spot. What really sets them apart is their dry-aged selections -- you can tell that's their specialty. I ordered the salmon and it was cooked perfectly, and my fiancé had a dry-aged steak that he said was one of the best he's ever had. The drinks were great too -- balanced and flavorful. We ended the night with cheesecake for dessert (not pictured) and it was so delicious -- the perfect way to wrap up the celebration. great service, amazing food

The service here is really great and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place for a steak and special occasion. Parker house rolls: 11/10 No it's not just bread. It's buttery, fluffy, and crispy. I love the goat cheese spread they give you too. Wedge Salad: 9/10 Massive and thick pieces of bacon. Bone marrow: 9/10 Yum! I love bone marrow and this was a classic. The only issue is the bread is too greasy. Pork belly: 3/10 Too dry. I got a wet aged ribeye and a dry aged ribeye. Both were delicious for different reasons. The dry aged had a lot more fat and a hint of a nutty flavor. You can't go wrong.

Fresh tuna all gone in one bite. We end up ordering the bone marrow with short rib, hamachi crudo, Wagyu meatball. It was perfect portions of food for both of us. The bone marrow with short rib is nothing to skip! Omgoodnesss that bone marrow was seasoned well and on point. Best bone marrow I've had in a long time! Short rib was so tender and went so well with the bone marrow and mini crostini bread. We definitely killed this. No one should ever miss out on this in any Boa. We even had this in Vegas and it's really their signature dish. The Wagyu meatball was also delish. Nice fatty flavor. Hamachi crudo was light, fresh, and tasty. The ultimate star of the end of the show was this sticky toffee pudding cake with salted caramel ice cream. I've had sticky toffee pudding in other steakhouses and restaurants. The best I've had was at Hell's Kitchen; however that was put to shame after having this here at Boa! The bartenders were saying that the English chef used his family recipe on this one. By GOLLY WIZ, it was absolutely exquisite! The cake was super fluffy, warm, and not dense like others I've had. It wasn't too sweet and it went so well with the salted caramel ice cream. Absolutely heavenly. This will take #1 in my book. Service here was amazing! Ryan and Mark at the bar were so nice and always checking up on us. Great customer service and very welcoming! I love how the menu had nonalcoholic options. I got the margarita nonalcoholic which actually tasted pretty decent!! Without the extra calories and sugar. Ambiance is casual/dressy. Happy hour is 5-6pm. Great options. Random Tip of etiquette: Don't ask the waiter to order off the happy hour menu for your friends coming late when it's passed 15min after happy hour. It's so tacky in a higher end restaurant. I can't believe locals do this. Don't go to high end restaurants than if you plan to be cheap. Just saying.

We had what I believe was a 7PM reservation and got seated right away on a Saturday night inside an absolutely stunning restaurant. It's on the darker side in here (which I personally like), is absolutely massive with both indoor and outdoor seating, and had such a friendly staff I now personally consider our waiter a family member and my new Uncle. The menu here has a a great selection of french dishes, pasta dishes, appetizers, and desserts to top it off (even though I was too stuffed for that). For an appetizer the table ordered the Pan Con Tomate with Prosciutto and even though it's not something I would of personally picked, I did enjoy the small amount I had. For a main course I went with one of my favourite dishes of all time, Steak Frites! Massilia did not skimp on portions here or kill you with price. The steak itself was served with an absolutely amazing chimichurri sauce and a boat load of french fries. Every aspect of the plate was incredible and for $32? Yeah, I'll be coming back in the future. The steak was served rare and was absolutely mouth watering while the french fries were crispy and had great flavour. Overall, Massilia was perfect choice for dinner and an absolute gem in Santa Monica. The atmosphere and restaurant were amazing, the staff was delightful, and the food was perfect. I couldn't recommend this place more if I wanted too, I'll definitely be back in the future!
