The food was good I had green chili reinios which I usually get at a nice Mexican place. The kids meals were adequate. They had beef and cheese burritos, The service was top-notch and they left a really good tip. However, the bathrooms were pathetic. My kids had to go wash their hands in there and I went in there to use the bathroom and I just threw up. No idea how the health department had approved those bathrooms for eating establishment. So 3/5 mostly because of the poor bathroom facilities. read more

Stopped here on our way to Denver and this was..... An experience. Waitress looked like she either hated us at 1st sight, was mad we spoke to her in Spanish, or was just mad in general. Beans looked crispy on the side, you know how when you microwave food and it crisps on the side? Yeah.... And went to pay and the math was not mathing. Ordered shrimp cocktail that was 15.99, with a jicama drink. Why did the total come out to over 25 for my food alone? Same for my friends plate. This is just nuts. read more

Decent lunch option if you are in a pinch. They didn't have several things on the menu available, and it seemed to be one person running the whole restaurant. On the other hand the restaurant was clean and the food was not bad. A bit pricey, a bit greasy. The waitress was nice though and it wasn't a bad experience. The chicken was a real yellow color and had a little bit of an odd taste to it. They also charge extra for chips so make sure to ask what they charge for and don't charge for. The best food in town, hands down! We were staying at a local AirBNB and this place came highly recommended. The staff was super friendly and made us feel right at home. I had the beef steak ranchero, and it was a perfect sized portion. The steak was juicy and the sauce had a nice kick to it. I definitely recommend this place whenever you're in the area! read more

Nostalgia may have my opinion a little slanted. When I was a kid we used to always go to Moab at least once a year. Just about every time we would stop at Ben's Cafe on the way there. Ben's Cafe served Mexican food, and eventually closed down. La Veracruzana is in the same space, has left some of the old Ben's Cafe signs up, and is a trip down memory lane for anyone that visited Ben's Cafe years ago. For food I went with a beef taco and beef enchiladas. It was around $12 and came with a huge serving of delicious rice and beans. We also got some chips and salsa to split, and I had a horchata. Our food came out after around 15-20 minutes, and overall it was pretty good. My wife wasn't a huge fan of the chicken plate she got, so I'd recommend staying with the beef if you can't decide. I also wish they had a little more variety in hot sauce than just the Tapatio I saw on our table, or maybe an option to spice up your plate. Overall I was happy with the experience, but I recognize that a large part of that was because of my Ben's Cafe nostalgia. I'd be happy to stop by here and try some other items in the future. Also, I play a lot of disc golf and there were 3 discs used for decoration here, so that got me excited. read more

Bad service. Our server was rude. My son is three years old and spilled his Apple juice and the server said "Oh my god, really?" Is that how you treat customers a kid even, kids are kids and spills are eventually going to happen. Very unprofessional. If you have kids or family I highly recommend not coming here. read more

Wasn't expecting much out of this place. But weren't pleasantly surprised at the authenticity of the dishes. Husband got steak ranchero and I got chili verde. The Chile verde wasn't as tender as I'm used to but the flavor was better than most of the ones I've tried. Husband LOVED his plate (and that's really saying something). Beans and rice were delicious as well. The only thing that could have made it better was if they made their own tortillas. But that rarely happens at any restaurants anymore. Horchata and Jamaica were delicious and just as authentic as the dishes. Definitely recommend eating here for dinner. read more

We stopped here quickly during a road trip and had a lovely experience. Vegetarian food is hard to come by in the midwest, so seeing a mexican food place was a blessing. The staff was incredibly kind and gracious, and we had our food in no time. And the food!! We each got a different veggie option and quickly found we got more than what we bargained for. The dishes were enormous and every part was delicious and filling. My only regret is that I wasn't able to tip more, since I didn't have enough cash to and the card reader was malfunctioning at the time.
