Girls getaway weekend for Appleton's Octoberfest! We stopped by here Saturday night and what an absolutely fun night! Who couldn't have fun when there are Christmas lights and decorations everywhere along with patrons signing together songs playing in the bar The staff was so friendly and the service was amazingly fast considering how many people were there. Most of us had the dirty snowball and it was delicious What a wonderful place, Cleo's was the cherry on top of a fantastically fun weekend! Check it out!!

Such a fun place. Staff is super friendly and quick. Patrons are super social too. Drinks were delicious and the atmosphere is the best!! Especially if you love Christmas

Love Cleo's! Great Old Fashions! Was one of my favorite "happy hours" when I was in college. Now, I go for the great drinks and the nostalgia of the "good old days". Not much has changed except there are a lot less decorations on the wall. (It has gone from extreme to maybe a little less extreme.... But still very interesting)! You got to check this place out! The best place to get a cocktail on College Avenue and the decorations are pretty funny.

    Festive bar!

It feels like its Xmas time and how can one not be happy about that! How about large reasonable drinks. Oh, and what about happy and talkative patrons. Yes, and attentive bartenders that don't keep you waiting. Clean and updated retrostyle bar. Dirty snowballs are popular here. Lots of beer on tap. Full bar. Did I mention the large servings. Cash discount or pay 4% more to cover credit card fee. You are welcome.

Went on a whim due to being in area while traveling...it did not disappoint...loved the lights and vibe...and the bartender was super friendly and fun...would return if ever back in area

I absolutely loved Cleo's. I loved all the Christmas decorations and lighting. I loved the patrons who were so happy and friendly as I was from out of state and it was my first visit. The bartenders were fantastic and I met some of the Texans supportive team while I was there. Very friendly, great drinks, and I love the doorman.

If you love Christmas, this is your place. There's no shortage of twinkling lights and nutcrackers here. Stop in for their signature snowball cocktail. It wasn't the greatest drink I've ever had but worth a try. I think it's actually a frozen White Russian. The service was nothing great and I think they're all about their regular customers but no one was rude, just inattentive to strangers. Not cozy enough for me to want to stay longer but definitely worth a look see inside.

Cleo's is a cool pub in Appletown downtown, where the inside is always Christmas themed all year. They have Christmas lights everywhere, so the ambiance is dark with Christmas lights. Cleo's has a nice selection of beers and liquor drinks. Cleo's is definitely a cool pub to enjoy a drink or two with some friends or your significant other!

Last night I thought I hallucinated, because it looked like I had died under a Christmas Tree. But then I realized I was just in Cleo's Tavern! If Santa threw up in a bar, this is what it would look like. Does a Christmas Bar make any sense? NO! But that is all the more reason to check it out! Good bartender;!excellent variety of Old Fashions! I loved the Brandy O.F. made sweet, but the regular Whiskey Sour was also good! Park Rudoloh right out front, and get in here for some loud fun!!

Who doesn't love this place. Fun decor and friendly staff. Our bartender super great and shared good conversation with us including history of the place. Hard to say which drink is better - dirty snowball of a brandy old fashion. I'll take two of each.

A must see!! Great bartenders, great drinks, and great atmosphere. The dirty snowball, cold brew martini, and Irish Old Fashion were all great choices!

Cleos is a great place to stop in while in Appleton Wisconsin! It is a Santa themed bar. It is filled with lights, decorations, and good energy! They have great drink options. Try the Dirty Snow ball!

Stopped in for a quick drink. Bartender was very friendly and she made a great lemon drop. The decor is fantastic. Christmas 27/7.

How you manage to raid Hobby Lobby's holiday section and make a bar freaking awesome is beyond me but this place has somehow pulled it off.

Our server was very friendly and with such a small space, it was easy to get her attention. The location is very low-key, but fun! Reservations are an absolute must, because even the small counter is booked. I wouldn't plan to get full as you would for dinner, but the idea of some great nibbles, drinks and a fun place to catch up with friends is unique. And they have done it very, very well!

And like Ellinor, many may double check their Google maps as they get nearer to the restaurant, wondering if they're in the wrong place. Unlike Ellinor, Marvol lives in a small, obscure corner of Appleton - it's not in an established neighborhood full of progressive diners with progressive views and progressive palates. And I love them for it. Sure, it may have just been a business decision to minimize overhead, but it says something bigger. It's an Appleton restaurant - everyone is welcome. True to the owners' approach to dining, Marvol's seating is more than cosy. It's intimate. You have to be okay with getting close to a stranger for the journey. Marvol's food doesn't disappoint. More important than the storybook plating and the flare, the food screams of excellent sourcing. Marvol's trout belly and roe, Kendall's greens, Wisconsin sweet corn and crab. Every ingredient can stand on its own - but they're so much better together. Whereas Ellinor caters to the many with mainstays and midwestern must-haves (red meat, burger, pizza with pork in it), Marvol feels like a small test kitchen full of new ideas. Some will land, others won't, but it's all part of the experience. It kind of feels like Chef Adam is inviting us into his brainstorm, where he jots down his ideas for the week on a notebook - and that's the menu. Though I had my favorites, I don't think going through them would help you. Because Marvol has probably moved on. All I can say is, you can trust Adam. Note: A huge selling point of Marvol is their drinks. I did not try any, as I don't drink alcohol. There is no official NA cocktail menu.

We went to one of their limited dinner services. I had called the day before and reserved a table. When we were quickly seated at a table by the entrance, I admit being suspect of how our visit would go. The hostess asked if the table was alright and pointed out a heater by the table. Not only did it keep us warm, it made our table feel cozy. Despite it being very busy, I'd describe the restaurant as being a great place for a special date. Our waiter for the evening brought great energy. His timing was great and his knowledge of the food served was helpful. Without hesitation he suggested the Napolitana (which was phenomenal). He also made the restaurant less pretentious than I had assumed it would be and it definitely wasn't pretentious). We ordered the empanadas and beet salad as appetizers. Great picks and I'd return just to get the empanadas! As previously stated, I had the Napolitana. My dining partner has the quinoa bowl but added chicken to it. No complaints for either. We finished with two desserts suggested by our waiter. Although truly full from our meal, we polished off the tasty treats. I'm going back, just disappointed I've haven't visited it before now.
