I love the variety of items they carry, and the employees have always been friendly, and welcoming. They have an impressive selection of clothing, shoes, glassware, collectibles, furniture, and vintage treasures, and it's always interesting to browse. That said, the prices are much higher than what most people expect from a thrift store. Traditionally, thrift stores exist to provide affordable clothing and household items while supporting the community, especially during times when many families are trying to stretch their budgets. Unfortunately, many of the prices here feel much closer to what you'd find in an antique or resale shop. I would honestly suggest renaming it to something like "Bridge Resale Store" because I think that would better reflect what customers can expect. It's still a great place to shop if you're looking for unique or vintage items, but if you're expecting traditional thrift store pricing, you may leave disappointed. I enjoy visiting and appreciate the staff and the quality of the merchandise--I just wish the pricing better matched the mission and expectations that come with the word "thrift."

She's been really condescending on other visits too, like asking me to leave when I'd have my phone out sometimes when I'd come by, not even when I'm on the phone. I don't know what her problem is but definitely won't be back anytime soon. Really disappointing cause there's a lot of cool stuff in there but her attitude really ruins the experience. If you're looking for a good thrift store experience in the area the Out of the Closet a few blocks up is a lot better.

Most everyone is familiar with Goodwill thrift stores whether having donated, shopped at, opposed…read moreits business policies or simply driven past one of its numerous locations that feel as frequent as a 7/11. But, trust me you haven't been to Goodwill until you've been to THE Goodwill: the mecca, the compound, the Palace Versailles of Goodwill in Glassel Park/Atwater adjacent near the San Fernando/Fletcher intersection (by the historic Van de Kamps building). This is just not any Goodwill: this is the SoCal hub of all things Goodwill. Let's get into it... If you've lived in Los Angeles for some time, you will recall this plot of commercial space formally being a Kmart (fun fact: my first job from age 16-21 was at a Kmart. Kmart forever!). Kmart (under Sears Holdings) are now a blip in retail history but the massive building has a new life as the Goodwill Outlet complex. Glowing like heaven's gates with choirs singing in a gigantic parking lot; this Goodwill complex holds, essentially, several businesses in one and serves as a Goodwill hub in the SoCal area. One side of this former Kmart now hold Goodwill's E-Commerce corporate center (not open to public) where Goodwill coordinates its website sales and on re-sell sites like Ebay. Did you know they sell online? Now you know! Next to the E-Commerce port is the Goodwill Outlet. This is where all the other local Goodwills send their overstock clothing donations or those that don't make the cut to sell in their stores; that are then gathered in large blue bins and sold at $3.19/pound. Imagine a large warehouse room with bins filled to the rim and people digging through piles like they are trying to reach gold at the bottom. There is no rhyme or reason to organization as it doesn't exist: men's, women's, children's... all in one bin. The Goodwill Outlet isn't for everyone as admittedly the clothing looked gross to me. I even saw pair of large tighty-whity men's underwear that looked like it was used as toilet paper for a cyclospora bathroom episode. I browsed with my eyes versus hands; but many of the other customers seemed to be enjoying themselves so it all depends your preferences. Next to the outlet is the main Goodwill retail store in the manner everyone is familiar. This location is wayyyyyy nicer than most, though. The space is large and in charge and super clean with shiny floors and tidy with organization (mostly). It also had some wonderful finds (as least in the women's clothing department) but - it is much too overpriced for a Goodwill. The majority of the clothing ran in the teens price-wise ($10 +). Um, excuse me? No. I am not paying $15.99 for an old dress. Another complaint is that unlike other Goodwill stores; shoes were not designated by men's, women's and children's and all dumped together as were household goods and these were also quite overpriced (a small tiny fake succulent the size of a thumb was $5.99). The prices are wild but I suppose worth it if you find something golden and special. Have some donations for those tax deductions? The former Kmart Garden Center now serves as the donation drop off but they only take into the early afternoon or until they fill up for the day so be mindful. This Goodwill megaplex is the Sofi Stadium of Goodwills holding the E-Commerce center, Outlet, traditional retail space and donation drop off; and is worth a visit whether you are making a donation, want to scour the outlet bins or shop in a large, clean retail space (although overpriced).

There is a good selection of stuff but, as with all thrifting, check your stuff first for damages. Two things I wanted to purchase were damaged so I gave them to the employee instead. She was so sweet, apologizing for it even though it obviously is not her fault. The prices were as expected and I bought a couple of things. I recommend shopping here.

First off this place is huge! There's so much to browse through, and most sections are fairly well organized, though a few shelves and aisles looked pretty picked over and messy, which I mostly avoided. Still, the selection here is impressive. They carry everything from furniture, purses, shoes, and clothing to appliances, books, CDs, VHS tapes, DVDs, jewelry, electronics, vinyl records, dishes, and toys. My brother-in-law and I spent some time in the toy section and we both actually ended up leaving with some teddy bears. His was only $3, and when he looked it up in the store it was worth up to $70--he was so excited about that find! Overall my personal experience was very pleasant and the customer service I received was great. Most employees seemed friendly and helpful. I did notice a slightly awkward interaction between an older female employee and another customer browsing near the VHS/DVD and jewelry counter. The employee called out "next," which made it seem like she thought the customer was ready to check out. When the customer didn't respond right away, the employee called out louder to get her attention kinda sounded annoyed. The customer looked a little caught off guard and replied that she was just browsing before continuing to look around. It was a bit of an odd moment, but when that same employee ended up checking us out, everything went smoothly and we had no issues. Overall it was a fun thrifting trip and I'd definitely come back again. Next time I want to spend more time exploring the clothing section!

The front of the store showcases a great selection of clothing in amazingly good shape. Along the walls and on a large table were some glassware and kitchen items. As I looked back, large lettering that spelled out FURNITURE directed me to the rear of the store. I took a couple steps in, then quickly went back to grab the husband. We spent most of our time looking through every inch of this room. There was so much to appreciate in the beautiful handcrafted solid wood furniture and in all the lovely decorative pieces. The nostalgia was wonderful. We've been on the hunt to complete a mid-century wrought iron patio set we found at Pasadena Flea Market. The Lucky Pig didn't have what we needed today, but I suspect we may find it on another day, so we'll be back!

We walked in an hour before their closing time and were helped by 2 of their employees. Without saying anything, they welcomed me and my clothes with open hearts and open hands. They were very nice, polite and helpful. This is a fairly new store/donation center. I have been to other Salvation Army stores in other areas throughout the years. We didn't really browse inside the store since we didn't need anything. However, the store was nice, clean, well organized and a lot of things to choose from. Clothes, shoes, accessories, scarfs and more.. Parking in the back, but we parked on the side street. Thank you Salvation Army Thrift Stores & Donation Centers all around the nation for your dedication, contribution, help, and loyalty. Next time if and when I need to donate some more stuff, I will choose this location over the other ones that I have been to!!
