Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment I arrived. During posted business hours, there was only a handwritten "back in a few" note on the door. After waiting about 20 minutes, the employees casually returned eating popsicles and never once acknowledged or greeted me when I entered the store. I attempted to engage and asked about inventory, but the staff were extremely unhelpful and seemed completely uninterested in assisting customers. On top of that, much of the vintage merchandise was heavily worn beyond what I would consider fair used condition, yet priced far above market value for the quality. Sadly, the lack of professionalism and poor customer service alone are enough to keep me from returning.

In my particular case that left a bad taste in my mouth was I wanted to purchase some cute rings which were quite affordable - they were $2 each. But when I went up to the register, I was told that the minimum amount for a card purchase was $10, which I did not meet. (I picked out 3 rings for a total of $6) I also did not have any cash on me. I then proceeded to look in all the nooks and crannies of the store to see if I could find something else so I could meet the minimum. Mind you, I was a very committed customer that was wanting to purchase items! However, I couldn't find anything else and got zero help or attention from the workers. I think what would have helped is if they at least asked what I was looking for or help directed me to some places to look. So I then just walked out without purchasing anything and took my business to another vintage store down the street!

The front of the store showcases a great selection of clothing in amazingly good shape. Along the walls and on a large table were some glassware and kitchen items. As I looked back, large lettering that spelled out FURNITURE directed me to the rear of the store. I took a couple steps in, then quickly went back to grab the husband. We spent most of our time looking through every inch of this room. There was so much to appreciate in the beautiful handcrafted solid wood furniture and in all the lovely decorative pieces. The nostalgia was wonderful. We've been on the hunt to complete a mid-century wrought iron patio set we found at Pasadena Flea Market. The Lucky Pig didn't have what we needed today, but I suspect we may find it on another day, so we'll be back!

Tierra's Treasures embodies what a great thrift shop is all about: interesting finds & bargain prices. While I wasn't looking for anything in particular, I was WOWED the moment I set foot inside, as each section of the shop felt like a perfectly organized little time capsule. From fun holiday items, flatware with quirky stems, well-preserved vintage & antique photos (yes, antique photos) & baby shoes, to an impressive collection of Pillsbury Doughboy kitchen items (who knew he had his own tea kettle?), I was beyond intrigued. None of the clothing & shoes were my size, however, the prices were great...FOUR dollars for a fancy cocktail dress that would then get reduced to $2 because of the day's surprise sale? Say whaaat?!?! The rear wall was dedicated to children's clothing on the left & toys on the right. And then, as I slowly made my way back to the front of the store, I spotted vintage vinyls! To me, record albums are hallmarks of a true secondhand shop & it's been nearly 10 years since I've seen old records in ANY thrift store; this one housed albums from Gladys Knight, Barbra Streisand & the late, great Lena Horne. I ended my little adventure with a pleasant conversation with one of the employees. All in all, this was one of those rare stores that I'll keep thinking about until I return!

First, if you're expecting a polished, curated vintage boutique, All Things and More probably isn't that place. You absolutely have to dig. Things are constantly coming through the doors, sometimes faster than Zach could possibly sort through them. And honestly? That's one of the reasons I love it. Zach could pull out every desirable vintage piece, research it, clean it, stage it, photograph it beautifully and charge vintage-boutique prices. He could probably make a lot more money. But he doesn't. Instead, people like me watch his Instagram, see something amazing come in, and practically race each other down there hoping we get to it first. I have furnished a good portion of my own home this way. My dining table, chandelier, leather sofa and several of my favorite vintage pieces came from All Things and More. I've found brand-new items still in their boxes, beautiful vintage furniture, clothing and some wonderfully strange treasures that I would have paid considerably more for somewhere else. People from the entertainment industry also shop there for clothing and pieces for productions, and items from productions sometimes make their way back through the store. You truly never know what you're going to find. But none of that is actually the biggest reason I support this place. It's Zach. I affectionately call him "the Saint of the Valley of the Sun." I've personally watched this man make sure hungry people had something in their stomachs. I've seen him offer water, fruit, tamales and Cup Noodles. I've watched him give clean underwear and clothing to people experiencing homelessness and tell them to go find themselves some pants and shirts. I've watched him give people work when they needed an opportunity. He helps provide food through a pantry and has stepped up when people in his community were afraid to go out and needed help. And one of the things that has stayed with me most is watching him encounter someone who is struggling and simply ask, "How are you feeling?" Not "What do you want?" "How are you feeling?" He sees people. So yes, you may find a dusty basket. You may have to move things around. You may leave with dust on your hands. This is a rough, old-school thrift shop, and nobody who loves it is going to pretend otherwise. But if you slow down long enough to really look, you might also find an incredible piece for your home that you can actually afford. You might find something with a history. You might find something nobody else noticed. And somewhere in the middle of all that beautiful chaos, you'll probably find Zach making sure somebody has eaten that day. That is why people are drawn to him. All Things and More isn't perfect. It isn't curated for Instagram. It's messy, unpredictable, affordable, interesting and deeply human. And I hope it stays that way.

The biggest selection of clothing is women's, although there is a small children and men's area. The shop is in a lovely former private home which also houses the offices of the Assistance League. There are plenty of housewares and decorative items and I often purchase greeting cards there for 75 cents each. The icing on the cake is that the Assistance League was the first nonprofit, non-sectarian, non partisan organization started in the western United States. The League's origin goes back to the great San Francisco Fire and Earthquake when Anne Banning, a Los Angeles society woman, and some of her friends, assisted victims of the disaster. Years later, in 1919, the first chapter of the league was formed and the work continues today. The money raised by the Assistance League goes right back into the local community and supports the arts for youth, among other things. You can drop your donations off during the hours the shop is open.
