I'm only giving 2 stars because this place is near my home so it's convenient and because it's a quick in and out. The staff however make me knock off points. They are not friendly, I always end up leaving with a huge bruise from the withdraw site and those 2 things alone make me not want to return. Opps! Forgot to avoid this place. After so many negative reviews, you would think LabCorp would at least make a fake effort to improve. Arrive and receptionist/tech does not greet. I'm trying to figure out the electronic check in that's broken. Barks at me do you have an appointment (not a single person in waiting room - wonder why). Demands my paperwork etc. Get it done. Then find out she is the tech also??? Not sure if these people get treated badly as they seem to put the lowest grade people in Blackhawk which has the highest maintenance people? Maybe just a bad combination...or maybe just a bad company! Avoid. Take extra 15 minutes to drive to another LabCorp. read more

Awful customer experience! I booked an appointment for a glucose test. I was told it would take one hour to complete. I arrived and had to wait 15 minutes to be called up. By the time they called my name they told me they wouldn't be able to take me because they wouldn't have enough time before their lunch hour. I reiterated that I had an appointment, that I had to take time off work (which isn't easy... 6 months pregnant and I already have to take tons of time off for these appointments), and that it wasn't acceptable. The receptionist went to the back and quickly talked to her supervisor. When she came back she smirked and said "yeah she said we still can't take you... she doesn't want us to clock out late." Ridiculous. I booked an appointment the next day at a different location that doesn't close for lunch. Explained my experience to that location. They were just as surprised as I was. Technology for appointment and check-in is great but Labcorp needs to do something about their personnel. I had a bad experience starting with a receptionist that acted like I didn't exist and didn't even greet me. But the real problem was the person drawing the blood. She was gruff and rude. I told her I had small veins and recommended a double tourniquet and a butterfly needle. These worked on me before. She told she didn't agree. After sticking me with a needle and failing to find a vein I cut off the appointment. She didn't seem to know what she was doing and was indifferent to my comfort. Go to the LabCorp located in San Ramon and ask for Sam. Sam is great! He was able to draw my blood no problem. He even apologized for the Blackhawk Lab fiasco. read more

This location sets their clock four minutes later than the actual time. So don't come at the last minute before closing and expect to get any service. There was one rude black girl there who kept insisting that their clock is accurate even though her own phone showed a different time. read more

When she asked if my name was correct on the paperwork I said 'that's correct'. She quite literally rolled her eyes & repeated what I said in a sarcastic way. Yes you read that correctly. Really?? Why? What's with the attitude?? Also, she couldn't find my vein in my right arm & I had to stop her from poking & priding me. I had to ask her to give my left a try. My doctor's office, Blackhawk Medical Group, is in the same building & they are fantastic. I intend on passing the word to them as well. Very disappointing. read more

The worst place I have ever visited. My doctor asked me take some blood tests so it is convenient for me to stop by here. I did fast and went here early morning. Somehow the receptionist was pretty rude and made me feel bad even before we started. The young lady who drew my blood poked many times and blamed my vein. I asked to use small needle and she said to me they are out of it now. Yester small needles were all gone. I don't believe that. After she failed then asked other woman to try again. She didn't apologized at all. The receptionist came and tried again. Still extremely rude and cold I don't know why. She tried on another arm and got successful. After all I decided I will never ever go back here again even though the location is convenient for me. They gave me a bad day and made me feel miserable. read more

I came in and sat in the office for a good 30 minutes before being approached by the only gentleman working. He informed everyone it would be an hour wait. Patients were filling up the room to the point where there were no chairs left to sit! Avoid this place. In addition to the people not being too friendly and sometimes even rude, they are not even reliable. We came for three exams for my daughter and they missed one of them when the order was processed. The exams were critical as our daughter has a chronic condition and needs careful monitoring. Our physician contacted them about the missed exam without a clear answer of why it was missing. I also contacted customer service directly and I was told the request did not include the missing exam (for reference, it is a standing order, I have a copy and I can clearly see the check on the form). read more

I went into the lab for my routine work and was met by a surly, rude and unaccommodating woman at the front desk who told me that she didn't have my standing order despite the fact that I had blood drawn on the order just the week before. Rather than apologize and see what she could do, she made it my fault that she couldn't find the order and told me that I needed to call my doctor and have another order sent. I ask if she could call and get the order verbally and she refused. I then asked her to call me when she gets the order and she told me she couldn't do that. Instead of trying to fix a problem, she simply exacerbated the situation. Reading the reviews suggests that they had some personnel changes in December 2018 and they haven't been successful. read more

8:00 am appointment. There was an A4 paper taped to the door with a handwritten message in black ink "open at 9:00am" and gave the address to the one at San Ramon. In my experience, this Labcorp has been hit or miss in their customer service. A couple years back, there was a very courteous and professional associate who worked there, but after his departure, it was backfilled with associates who were not courteous and short of patience (not only towards me but observed towards other patients as well). Went in a few days ago after missing my appointment time by 10 minutes, and was surprised to have received professional assistance from the associate at check-in, and the phlebotimist. Check in was efficient, and the blood draw was painless and quick. Granted I was in before 8:30am, so it wasn't busy yet, so I was in and out of the office in less than 20 minutes. Would return to this location based on this experience. read more

This Laboratory used to be MuirLab. It is now owned by LabCorp. Went there this morning. Great experience! I'm a difficult draw, but these technicians knew what they were doing. They don't take appointments over the phone. . . you can make appt. on LabCorp Blackhawk website. . . Or just walk-in. Hours: 7am - 4pm (Closed 12:;30-1:30pm for lunch). THIS PLACE GOES AGAINST ALL COVID19 RULES! It was a nightmare and I should have left when I saw the situation. It's a tiny place, which isn't their fault. Two machines check you in. They're side by side, maybe a foot apart. Both are in use at the same time. The waiting room was filled. The room was the size of a large bathroom. People standing, people sitting, people waiting in the hall. To use the machine I was less than a foot away from the person using it next to me. When I was finished I waited in the hall but it was a tiny hall and I couldn't go too far as I needed to hear them when they called my name. I probably only waited in the hall 5-10 minutes at most but people were everywhere. I was there early in the morning since I needed to fast. Maybe it's less crowded later in the day. The lab person who actually drew my blood did an excellent job. She gets 5 stars. read more

My doctor (Blackhawk Medical) is in the same building as this LabCorp facility. I've been using this LabCorp for years. The two clients ahead of me were treated so rudely, I was holding my breath before my name was called, wondering how I'd be treated. The receptionist told the client before me "you have a $40 unpaid balance from June, we will not see you today unless you pay". The client said she has a standing blood order every month, couldn't understand why her draw from months ago was still outstanding - she paid. The receptionist a few moments later realized she had made a mistake, there was no unpaid balance. The next patient didn't have her insurance card with her, she said "I was just here a few weeks ago, don't you have my information in your system?" She was told no, it was better that she go home or she'd have to pay cash for the blood draw today. Then came my turn, I was told my projected portion for the blood draw was $128, pay now or else we won't do the blood draw. I have always just signed an agreement that I might have a portion to pay, then I get billed later. No such process today. Considering I have already met my deductible and out of pocket maximum for the year, I won't be responsible for anything. But the receptionist said I had to pay or there would be no blood draw. Am I really in a LabCorp in Blackhawk, CA? I felt like I was in a Medi-cal facility. Has the process of LabCorp really changed and if so, is there a more professional way to convey this to the client? Fortunately, there's a LabCorp in nearby San Ramon where I've been treated well consistently - that will be my new Lab. read more

I was told to call LabCorp for them to help renew my standing order and Angela V, who answered the phone, was very rude, patronizing, and didn't do a thing to help me renew my test order. The man at the front desk was extremely pleasant and handled my paperwork quickly and efficiently. The phlebotomist was friendly and quick. This is another compliant of poor customer service from LabCorp at its 4165 Blackhawk Plaza location in Danville CA. The intake person (female, Black, about age 40) was over the top rude to me and other customers. That office is just across the hall from my doctor's office, so it's convenient to get my blood drawn following an appointment. But I will never go to this place again. My insurance plan clearly states that I have no co-pay for routine blood work. I told her this several times. But the intake person rudely and flatly refused service until I filled out two of their financial responsibility forms, provided a credit card number and pre paid in full. I felt like I was an indigent in some foreign country. Even if there were a co-pay, my insurance company, not Lab Corp, determines the amount, sends me an EOB and only then should LabCorp bill me. The copy and fax machine did not work, so I could not even get copies of what I signed. This amounts to customer extortion. The self check in machine was also broken, not a surprise. The blood draw was without incident, but the phlebotomist (female, Hispanic, mid to late 20's) gave me no confidence. Funky sweat clothes, ragged surgical mask, unfriendly - again, where am I? As I left, the same intake person was arguing with an older man with a long standing order from his doctor. I tried calling LabCorp's 888 customer service line to register a complaint, but it is a non working number. So I called customer service with my insurance company.
