I chose this location because it was the closest to my workplace. This was my second time here, but unfortunately, the service was worse than my first experience. I have difficult veins, and I understand that some blood draws can be challenging. However, I was under the impression that a trained phlebotomist would know how to work with patients who have difficult-to-find veins. The phlebotomist tried my right arm, then my left arm, but was unsuccessful. I was then told to reschedule. I asked, "What happens if you're unable to find my vein next time? Do I just have to reschedule again?" There didn't seem to be a clear solution or any attempt to try another approach. I've had blood drawn many times at Kaiser Permanente and have never experienced this kind of concern. I understand that difficult veins can make blood draws challenging, but I expected a more experienced and professional approach. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling very frustrated and questioning the level of competence and training at this location. I hope the staff receives additional training on handling patients with difficult veins so others don't have the same experience. read more

Great location and service! The kiosk was very easy to use for checkin. Process took a few minutes. Waiting area is clean. Joe was great to work with! He is very diligent and efficient. I'm happy he was able to take my walkin appointment only after an hour of waiting. He gave some helpful advice to always book an appointment. Thanks Joe! read more

They have one person working to do lab work and it's impossible to make appointments at this location unless it's very far in advance. I have no idea why Quest doesn't hire more phlebotomists! read more

What a low class operation. I had a 7:40 appointment. I checked in at the site but never got sent a confirmation message. So it never shows I checked in So I had to wait a hour to be seen. Lab core runs a much more efficient system. I will never come here again. read more

Needed a blood test for an upcoming appointment, My Dr. Usually sends me to LabCorp, located in Danville in the old Victorians, but was preoccupied with something else and thought Labcorp was Quest and scheduled an test there. I was disappointed at first, but the Phlebotomist was really really nice, and welcoming and did a great job at taking my blood. The check in process was really easy, all self service, but please make an appointment before hand as walkins are less of a priority. I was scheduled for 10am and arrived early and was out in less than 10 minutes and was already back at work. Very efficient and convenient. Dont let the reviews scare you, my experience was great. read more

Had to get some last minute blood panels done for an up coming procedure. Normally, I use Labcorp In Danville, however my surgeon gave me the order at Quest Diagostics. This location is located inside Safeway next to the Pharmacy. It is by appointment only so I called at 7:30 and got a slot at 10:30 am . Although, your in a separate room it's kinda weird that you sit in a waiting area inside a grocery store for blood work. Arrived on time, checked in and was helped immediately. The Asian lady that poked me was really good, got my blood and I was out in 10 minutes. She was the only one there a so she did the paperwork and payment too. read more

This is for the Quest Diagnostic in Safeway on San Ramon Valley Blvd in San Ramon. I don't usually take time to write uncomplimentary reviews, but I feel the need to speak up in this case. I've had repeated bad experiences with the woman who draws blood in this location. Today, I went in to pick up a collection cup for a lung-related test my physician ordered. While waiting my turn, I witnessing her rude, unprofessional behavior with another customer. He simply (and politely) tried to let her know he was in the waiting room, and she barked at him as if he were a naughty child. When I finally got the chance to ask for what I needed, she told me (in the same sharp tone she used with the other customer) I couldn't have a collection cup without an appointment. (So, apparently, though Quest says they take walk-ins, we need an appointment to pick up a necessary item for an appointment we plan to make.) I shared my experience with a store employee, and with a pharmacist when picking up a prescription. In both cases, the person responded, "I know who you're talking about. We get complaints about her all the time." Yet she is still there, treating customers poorly. In the past, I've brushed off her lack of people skills. But after today, I will no longer return to this Quest location. It's convenient, but the convenience isn't worth the experience. A person who takes blood, or works in any area of healthcare, should like people, and she clearly does not. read more

On duty staff is not a happy camper. She does not allow walk in even Quest allows it. This is properly to reduce her work load. Don't feel comfortable with someone like that taking my blood. read more

Quest lab San Ramon Safeway...nightmare. Quest advertises walk-in option if you're willing to wait. I went in for an urgent test that I needed before a CT scan. It was a simple one tube five minute test. The older woman technician refused to even consider it even if I was willing to wait the two hours before they closed. There were no other people there at the time so she wasn't busy. And she was not nice at all. If Quest isn''t willing to help walk-ins they shouldn't be advertising it. Needless to say I won't return with or without an appointment. read more

We went to go get flu shots. And this is the second time we've had problems with this quest designation. They are horrible, they are rude. They told us we could walk in for a flu shot. And when we got there, they told us. It would be 2 to 3 hours because you need to make an appointment. But yet the people before them on Sunday night told us we don't need an appointment. This is the second time this has happened. I would not recommend this quest site to anyone. The people who give these shots in this facility are slow and very lazy. Because they can't be bothered taking anyone in unless you have an appointment. Most places you just walk in and get the flu shot. Customer service is a piece of crap. I was trying to get the CPT code for some tests prescribed by the docter. One ignorant service agent just told me she didn't have those codes for me and I should ask the docer. The 2nd service agent told me I should call their billing department. I then called their billing department and was only received by automatic call response which plays dumb, saying couldn't recognize the numbers I input through my phone. Firstly, the Asian lady tech was excellent! Pleasant and did her job well. The problem is with Quest Diagnostics... 1) There are about a dozen signs and documents stuck to the door and windows. There are a number of chairs outside the door for people o sit. Nothing tell people they are suppose to enter and check in inside the office. 2) No one was at the check-in desk. Nothing tell people they are suppose to check in using the display. 3) There was 7 other people waiting at my scheduled time. There are only two techs. 4) The crowd grew to 11 people inside of the small 228 square feet waiting room. Signs tell people to stay 6 feet apart. Not do-able. 5) Finally got called into the tech's office 26 mins later. Why have an appointment system if you are going to overbook to this extreme? read more

I walked in this morning checked. There is only one lab tech who kept saying if you don't have an appt not sure how long you have to wait. So I went online scheduled an apt for 10:30 AM re checked in and even though I scheduled an apt there system still kept me as stand by and it is now 11 am and she keeps by passing me. It's impossible to get an appointment early morning unless you are willing to wait for a month. The place is empty, but the lab tech won't take a walk-in no matter what. If you need a blood test on a timely basis, they won't accommodate you. There is no one to talk to, which doesn't stop Quest Lab from charging the maximum for the tests. Ask your prescriber for Labcorp and refuse to go to Quest. read more

I have been going to this Quest for several years and have always had a very positive experience. The phlebotomists are very friendly, efficient and skilled. The office is neat and clean. Check in is a very simple self-service kiosk. Appointments have become required since Covid. But this is true of most of the Quest offices. Easy scheduling online. Has definitely helped with wait times and eliminated crowded waiting rooms. read more

The only good thing about this branch is the location. It's very convenient to be able to take care of a lab test and shop for a few groceries in one trip. I've been hear a few times and it's clear that "bedside manner" or "courtesy" are not traits that they look for in their employees. I have to say the two Asian women that work at the San Ramon/Safeway location are two of the nicest people I have ever come in contact with. I believe one of the women's name is Than. Both are very caring and kind and make giving blood for lab work an absolute breeze. And normally I hate needles, but the two women here always put me at ease. This location always gets me in and out quickly. It's never busy. Way better then Labcorp. If you've been to both you will understand. read more

I had my test on 4/26/21. Than was wonderful! I am a hard stick and she was an expert in drawing blood and making me feel at ease. I couldn't even feel a pinch. I usually am jabbed many times before the technician is successful, but not with Than. Sometimes I have had to return to a lab twice, but, again, not with Than.
