I came here for routine bloodwork and will avoid this location in the future. Even with an appointment at 8:30am on a Tuesday, the waiting room was already jammed with people. For a medical facility that draws blood, it was gross--overcrowded, poorly ventilated, and not remotely set up to prevent the spread of illness. If you're immune compromised or prone to getting sick, this is not a safe environment. The only decent part was the phlebotomist--she was polite, quick, and efficient. Everything else was unacceptable. If you have no choice but to come here, book an appointment, check in, and wait in your car until you get a text. Wear a mask inside because the conditions are not clean or safe. Advice to management: Fix the waiting area. Reduce the crowding. Create a process that doesn't pack sick and healthy people together. read more

I just got back from getting bloodwork done for my 7 year old daughter. I was told to go to this location specifically because they had multiple people who could handle working with children. My daughter was nervous and scared. They were having difficulty with getting her to be still. One technician became frustrated and threw off her gloves and left the room to get someone else to do it. It's obvious that this woman shouldn't be working with children. No empathy, no compassion, not even a sticker to make this situation a little less scary for a child. I've been to this location before, but not post COVID. I appreciated the ease of booking my appt online, checking in from my car, the text that I received to let me know to come in, and how I was immediately sent to the back to start the process. No wait at all. Most importantly, Ruth, was outstanding. I am super anxious whenever I get my blood drawn, but she made the process really bearable. She's patient, found a great vein almost immediately, and was starting conversation to get my mind in another zone. I want her to draw my blood for the rest of my life! LOL. read more

Aside from the waiting area being oppressive, the location is run down and this lab is definitely NOT physical-disability friendly. There are minimal ADA compliances. The bathroom in the facility is poorly designed, making specimen collection on site physically IMPOSSIBLE. The building also has poor accessibility for those who are not able bodied. read more

Let me start out by tell you the ending. DO NOT GO HERE, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE! When I entered the location there are about 20 seats and all taken. I went to stand in line and waited a good 5 minutes before I turned around and saw self check-in kiosks. It would be nice if someone told me or there was a sign. I didn't see them. I talked to someone next to me and they were there for over an hour. I got called in after a few minutes because I was there for a simple test. Then they had me wait in the hallway with 10 other people just standing there. What the hell is the point of that? Just to make us feel like we are moving? Treat us like cattle why don't you? I could hear everyone upset in the waiting room and the employee at the counter was not very nice. She seemed aggravated that it was busy and was taking it out on the people. After another 10 minutes, I was in and out. But it doesn't stop there. They said my results would be 48 hours. So a couple days go by and I call to get my results. The employee who answered the phone couldn't tell me anything. She literally said to me "We don't know what your test results are and to call 1-800-631-5250". So I hung up and dialed that number and they didn't know anything either! So I asked who could tell me my results, and she gave me 1-800-833-3984 to call. I then called that number and was on hold for over 30 minutes. When someone answered I gave them my information and she told me that they didn't have my results and they didn't know where my test was and I had to have my employer to call to find out! THAT WAS ALL SHE COULD TELL ME! Why can't I find out MY OWN FUCKING TEST RESULT, WITH MY NAME ON IT?! If you can, stay away from this fucking company. They are incompetent and impolite to deal with. We visited Labcorp for a bloodwork for my 80 year old dad, who is a COPD patient. First of all, we had to wait for 50 min after checking in and there was a miscommunication about if they have a wheelchair or not. We had not brought our wheelchair under the assumption that they will have one. Anyway, after waiting for 50 min, when we realized that the expectation was that we need to have our own wheelchair, my dad said that he will try to walk. However, he had to rest once in the corridor and a gentleman in the LabCorp, very kindly let us use a chair for the hallway. I really hope that by disclosing this information of his kindness, he is not in trouble. After the blood work, when we made that request to take one of their chairs to the hallway (in between their two doors, which is their own space), our request was inhumanly and cruelly rejected by the the person in charge. I am still horrified by the inhuman treatment. Who would do such a thing?? What is at stake here? A chair? I am still wondering about the thought process behind this decision. I really hope that they revise their policy on this (if they have one) and no one has to go through this again. This was one of the most helpless situations that I have gone through so far and my belief in the good nature of people is not affected by this. However, I am shocked and terrified thinking of the consequences if my dad couldn't walk back at all to the entrance. I had zero options at that point. DO NOT GO HERE. They are not following CoVid regulations. THIS PLACE IS A DEATH TRAP. Sign on the door says no more than 5 people inside. The waiting room was packed with at least 12 people. Decided to wait outside in hallway, near door. Heard name called, went in, they insisted they did not call name. Had message on phone saying "tech is ready for you". Main desk: "OK - what are you here for?" Blood work. "No, it says you here for substance testing." No, routine blood work. "OK." How many people in front of me? "3". Return to hall to wait. Another poor experience. The check-in doesn't work. The check-in via text and wait in your car doesn't work. No hand soap in the bathroom. All the hand sanitizers in the place are empty. Horrible, horrible place! The waiting room is actually pretty clean, but small, but this place is like a deathtrap. You sign in some type of machine, but than the machine does not work. So then I checked in at the front desk. They yell at me that the machine does work, and to not even go to their front desk. Later, the machine works. Than, I take a seat. Than, I get called for paperwork. I tell them I am ready, and the paperwork is complete. They yell at me to take a seat, and they will get to me as soon as possible. 40 minute wait to get my name called again. DONT GO TO THIS LAB! Worst experience I ever had in a lab. Place was dirty staff is incompetent. It took 3 phlebotomist to draw blood from my 11 yr old. They used a straight needle which is a big needle after the 3rd attempt they finally heard me and used a butterfly needle. Not only they left my son's arm all bruised but all 3 staff members didn't wash their hands or use purell. When I asked them to wash their hands staff was very rude and said "I changed my gloves" And called her manager over, when I told the manager that I'm in healthcare and hand hygiene is the most important method for infection control she told her staff to wash their hands... Terrible - stay away!!! I used this location many times before with no issue, just went last week after about a year and it seems they have a whole new rude and unprofessional staff. They are not only rude at check in, not paying attention to the patient and instead conducting a constant personal conversation amongst themselves, they are also negligent. They took right in. Very quick/no wait. Rose (front desk) was extremely pleasant. I was nervous about getting blood drawn, b/c I was traumatized last week at RWJ ER. They used a "hose" sized needle (the nurse's words!) and she tried 5 or 6 times to find a vein. I was stabbed and stabbed, and when she finally found one she kept moving the needle, causing pain, and eventually it fell out, getting blood *everywhere*! At labcorp Sunanda drew my blood. She used a small needle, got a vein immediately, and was so gentle I felt only a minor pinch! She was so great! Sunanda is the best! I was so relieved and happy I HAD to share the news on yelp! Every year I come for a blood work-up. Today, I arrived at the lab and saw they implemented a new sign-in procedure. This really streamlined the initial waiting. The office person I spoke with was friendly, answered all questions and had a firm command of the job. After seeing the office person, you wait until your name is called to see a phlebotomist. As far as I could tell, there were two (2) phlebotomists on duty. While I waited, another patient called out that there were blood droplets on the floor. The patient mentioned it several times, and a worker came out with a bottle of disinfectant and cleaned up the 8-10 spots with a tissue. I thought disinfection processes were a lot more stringent than what was done. This left me with an uneasy feeling! Other patients just shook their heads in disbelief. Just after the blood was cleaned up, I was called in by the phlebotomist. She was surly, unfriendly, disinterested and in a hurry. She took my blood, and then put this compression wrap with a gauze pad around my arm. The wrap slipped off and blood began to spurt from the vein. She pulled the compression wrap, making it extremely tight. Two (2) hours later I gingerly removed the compression wrap, noting the deep marks in my arm. Obviously, the wrap was cutting off circulation. As soon as I removed it, the blood draw spot began to bleed. This time, I placed a regular band-aid on the spot. I think it's time to go to a different lab. A lab should be spotless! Welcoming staff, a calm demeanor and exceptional customer service go a long way in keeping patients calm and worry-free. Really surprised at the number of 1 star reviews. Either Labcorp cleaned up its act since then or I caught them on a good day. After having a horrible experience with Quest Diagnostics (See my review) I came over to LabCorp expecting a similar situation. This was around 10 AM on a Saturday. No one in the waiting area. They have a Sign-In kiosk where you can scan your license and insurance. No endless pages of information to fill out. After completion, I was called in immediately. The Phlebotomist was cheerful. We joked around during the procedure. Pretty painless, even for someone who doesn't like needles. Overall a pleasant experience. read more

Horrible experience in this LabCorp East Brunswick location! They misread the results, so I need to go back which is too much hassle. Person who took my blood spent a very loooong time to find my vein, tried left arm, right arm, then left arm, right arm, back and forth a number of times. Arrived at 8am on the Friday prior to the holiday. This was my second visit in the past two weeks. My first visit was unpleasant but I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. Today a repeat of the last visit. The tone of the staff is uninviting and somewhat nerve wrecking, their tone is very rushed and discouraging. They speak to patient's in a manner that discourages questions as if to rush everyone to their seat and following that rush them to the line for the blood work. This is a very clinical, cold environment. I am not sure what other options are out there, so much of this is dictated by insurance providers but this should be your last choice if you have other options. Allow me to say that when I say "they", I mean the lady at the front desk. Older, blonde, monotone voice, exactly the type of person an ill person dreads. She should consider retiring. Came here a few months ago and had a great experience. I had an appointment so there was no wait on an early Monday morning. I got there slightly before my 8:45am appointment and they took me right in. I even made it to work on time. Staff were friendly and they even sent me the results after a few weeks without asking. This is the first lab that sent me the results. The only reason I'm giving them a 4 star is due to my most recent experience over the phone. I called to verify that my doctor placed a prescription into the system for another blood test before I actually showed up. The woman that answered wasn't really listening to what I was saying and I had to repeat it 3 times, then when she finally understood me, she put me on hold for 5 minutes and then hung up on me. Granted she was helping other customers on the other end, as I heard everything that was going on, but still, I thought that was bad customer service. One of the worst, if not THE worst, LabCorp facilities that I've ever been to. Staff is rude, system is disorganized and inefficient regardless of making an appointment and showing up early. I was actually officially 'checked in' 15 minutes AFTER my appointment time, even with the check-in stations in the front. The staff had the nerve to constantly complain, throughout my whole appointment, about the number of scripts I had to get drawn from my doctor... is that even a real complaint? Isn't the whole point of the company and facility, and the staff's jobs, to prepare paperwork to get labs/bloodwork drawn? I will NEVER return here again, nor recommend this location to any family or friends.... stay away, unless you want to spend an exorbitant amount of your time/day wasted. read more

After I had my blood draw in Friday 06/01/18, I could not show myself with short sleeves shirt. Why is this: the first nurse/operator/? poked me in the left arm and couldn't get any, come another one and pock me in the right arm and victory, blood is coming out from me. She put sterile bandage and a paper tape on both arms and I'm good to go. An hour later when I tuck off the bandages, I found my purple wounds. This was on Veronica Avenue, Somerset, NJ if you care to know. First of all, I thing will be just right to have this say nurses to have a name tag on them, or a Certificate hanged on the cubicle they are working. I could refer my complain about a person you may want to train, too. Also will instil some responsibility to a person which can be identified. Your waiter in any type of restaurant gives you a name and on the receipt the name appears, too. I hope to get a reply to this Review. I read your guide lines. I'm using a decent language, about the rest I don't have the time to play your game. I could ask my PCP to give me reference to other lab. I hope you will fix it. read more

Not very clean. Check-in has improved as long as you can navigate the system. Front desk and lab people are rude, obnoxious, and don't want to be there. Their private dramas and gossip are their first priorty. Bathroom is disguisting. I wish I could go to Quest. They have problems too, but are not as bad as LabCorp. read more

I know I have no veins and drink water before I go but this hurt and now one of my veins are swollen. I don't understand why this place has so many negative reviews, maybe they hired a new staff or something. I scheduled an appointment online ahead of time, showed up, signed on with one of the kiosks (which was very easy to use, you just need your ID and your Health Insurance card), and within 5 minutes, I was called to the back to get my bloodwork done. The staff was very friendly and laid back, and the woman who drew my blood was perfect, she got it on the first attempt. My entire visit only lasted 10 minutes. Again, not sure why this place has all these negative reviews, but I had a very positive experience, and I would definitely recommend this place to others. read more

This was my first time here since my doctors recently stopped doing routine blood work in the office. I checked the website to find the hours and nowhere did I see hat walk ins are welcome. I went ahead and made the next earliest appointment since I would have to fast. I got the ok from my boss to get friendly coverage for my class so I can get blood work at 8. After talking to coworkers about getting blood work and having an appointment they stated you can go as a walk in. So I went extra earlier to hopefully be women before my appointment time. Well the computers were down which took a lot longer than I would expect of the computer weren't down. This is because everyone had to fill it a paper by hand to check in along with the workers filling out the papers for scripts. The lady at the front desk was not clear on the directions for what to fill out and what not to and she was also extremely rude telling people to just sit down and wait. I was just getting a pen to write with when she ordered me to sit. One girl ended up leaving and going to another location. The place didn't seem the cleanliness either. As soon as the paper work was done I actually was called in at my appointment time instead and the drawing of the blood was actually like a two minute, not even, procedure. Waited over an hour for something so simple. There must be a better way. (I have heard that they are usually packed even with computers running) read more
