Worst place to go to get blood drawn. Ester is the RUDEST person I have ever met, Rhonda isn't with the company anymore. All the good ladies are gone. Go downstairs to get your blood drawn in the building. And ask for Bam she's amazing. I watch Netflix on my phone while having my blood drawn because I'm tiny, and have a very hard time with blood being drawn, it is also a 12 hour fasting test so I get dizzy easily. Ester wouldn't allow me to watch on my phone, yet every other time I've been there they have. Ester needs to go, and Labcorp needs to actually care about their reviews and patients. I went to the website to make an appointment and I'm am happy that I did. I wouldn't recommend being a "walk-in" because I'm sure this place is always busy. I made the appointment the night before. I had to enter in all of my info on the site. I went in on a Thursday for an 11:30am appointment. I got there at 11:00am and checked in using the kiosk. All you have to do is put your license (ID) upside down in the holder and the kiosk will scan it and pull up your information (as long as you already registered for an appointment online). If you didn't, then you have to fill out all of your info. There were about 15 people sitting in chairs and 3 people standing. I was checked in pretty quickly by a very nice young woman at the desk. I asked how her day was going and had a nice conversation as she took my blood test mark-up (I was having food allergy testing) and my insurance card. It was very busy there and a child was crying in the back, so, I'm sure everyone was stressed. Sometimes, if you are nice to begin with to the staff, they will be nice to you. I got called back for my 11:30am for my appointment. I went to the first room and the Phlebotomist and I had another nice conversation as she took 2 vials of my blood. I think that the conversation was a good distraction from the needle. The butterfly needle was retractable and she put pressure on it and then some medical tape. I'm definitely happy I made an appointment online first! That is definitely my recommendation. read more

So THIS girl has the WORST time getting blood drawn. It actually drives me crazy that my brain thinks and knows "okay -- I'll be COMPLETELY fine" but a body that that goes off on its own and thinks "PANIC! Black out! Now!" I have a 100% track record of passing out if I'm sitting, and a 70% of being really woozy during a lie down draw - for a period of time after the draw is over (and I'm unable to get up and walk out immediately). I've been twice in the past week, and both times I let the front desk know that I really needed to lie down for my draw. Not a problem they said. Both times I had Maddie as my tech. She is a rockstar and has the patience of a saint. She made sure I was situated, let me ramble on various conversation topics (while I tried not to think about what she was doing), hid the vials and equipment and then picked me up an ice pack for my neck (to help constrict the blood vessels in my neck to prevent passing out). She even waited with me patiently to make sure I was good to walk out safely. She didn't fumble for a vein, and barely left a mark for me to remember it by. After going to Quest for blood test which ended up being hemelyzed, I came here to get my blood test that my cardiologist ordered. I was immediately impressed with the process. They put the whole samples on the screen, which ended up being 3 viles. One prick and 3 viles. Much more like a doctors office than Quest had at Safeway. The staff was extremely helpful and I had my results within a week. I was impressed by their professionalism. read more

Is this the DMV or a lab??? I can't tell. Each time I come I mistakenly expect whoever will greet me at the front desk might be in a good mood...maybe?? Of course not! Why you ask? Oh because the DMV and labcorp share employees to ensure that same great customer service is spread out throughout the community therefor having a greater chance of spreading the negativity. Lol! I've had to come here once a month for the past five months and it's the same experience every damn time. I honestly don't understand what takes so long. I wait for AT LEAST half an hour when it literally takes them 60 seconds to draw my blood. There's an option to make an appointment, but don't bother. You'll still have to wait all afternoon. read more

Labcorp - LOL JK. - Laboratory Testing Near Me - Fairfax, Virginia

This is a truly scary place. DO NOT GO HERE!!! The first time I brought my 11 year old daughter, they took blood from about 3 or 4 inches up from where her arm bends...without my permission. It really freaked us both out. We were just there the other day. The person who took the blood was so strange. I mean creepy!!! She put the needle in about 1 1/2 inches into her arm! WTF?!!!! Then, she gets no blood. So, keeping the needle INSIDE HER ARM, she starts moving the needle around to try and get it in the vein! Then, she announces my daughter apparently has no blood in that arm and she wants to try the other arm. I asked her if she could be dehydrated and she said yes. I said, maybe we should come back. She didn't listen, came over, and stuck her other arm, again, sinking the needle in very far. Blood came out this time. I can't even tell you though... It felt like we were in an insane asylum or in a bad scary movie. It was surreal! read more

My physician sent me to LabCorp for some blood work. I arrived 15 minutes before my scheduled appt. I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the waiting room or the reception desk, but decided to reserve judgment until I saw the back of the facility. While waiting, I noticed several patients who seemed to be quite unhappy with some aspect of their service. . One patient was very vocal and argumentative. I think the office staff should have invited her back to a waiting room to discuss her concerns, Instead the entire waiting room became privy to her complaints. Originally I believed the woman was probably misinformed by her doctor, but as the discussion drew on, it appeared that she had been kept waiting for two hours and had been given misinformation by one or more of the employees. Instead of apologizing, the staff continued to argue with her.. It was very unprofessional. The third strike - I was kept waiting 40 minutes past my scheduled appointment. I could not wait any longer and approached the desk to retrieve my paperwork and credit card. It appears that one of the employees was just getting around to inputting my information into the computer. This took 40 minutes? No wonder I never made it past the waiting room. read more

Just wanted to post a review for the awesome service I had today at this Labcorp office. I live in Manassas two minutes from the Manassas location but choose to drive to Chantilly location. I want to give an awesome review for Rhonda! She is very good at her job. She was working the desk when I went in but I didn't know it was her. I asked if Rhonda could draw my blood based on reviews I had read. She said she was Rhonda and she would! She is very slick with the needle!! I didn't feel anything. Extremely professional, nice and friendly. It's apparent she is good at multitasking. The place was busy! I had made an appointment online and was out of there before my appointment time even! Recommend making the appointment online, very easy check in, great experience. Awesome service! read more

Biggest complaint is the later your appointment the longer you wait. A little frustrating when you attempt to do this during your lunch break. Update: Appointments later in the day mean nothing, you have to wait 10-15 minutes regardless. read more

I went to LabCorp's Fairfax,VA facility in December 2012. I was apprehensive about my visit after I read several negative reviews about LabCorp facilities in the Northern VA Area. However, my experience was great. I was greeted by a LabCorp technician who was busy co-managing the front desk and responsible for administering several of the procedures. While seated in the waiting room, I observed the LabCorp technician helping a patient who was mistakingly sent to that location by their Drs office for a procedure that is done at a different LabCorp. The technician apologized on behalf of the Dr and called the other LapCorp asking them to do her a favor and please fit in this patient who had a scheduled appointment. The patient was very grateful and left thanking the technician for her help. When I was seen by the technician, I observed she was pleasantly professional yet had a personal touch. The facility was busy yet she treated all patients with smile and an abundance of patience. As I was leaving, I thanked her for putting me at ease with my procedure and told her I was expecting an unpleasant experience based on patient reviews of their facility. So, I wanted to balance the reviews and let folks know that they should have an open mind when they go to the LabCorp at Fairfax, VA and know that there are likely numerous patients who had a good experience like myself but did not write a review and that the handful that did write a negative review are far and few between. Convenient location and parking. Lab is on the 2nd floor. The office is dated and plain. I had no problem checking in - was asked for my insurance card and blood draw order. I didn't have an appointment and was seen in about 10 minutes. The phlebotomist was eating when she called me to the draw room. She continued chewing while confirming my information and the smell of the food was distinguishable. The process was smooth and quick. I guess I am used to Quest Diagnostics lab that is sparkling clean and welcoming. The LabCorp on Fair Ridge looks like a free clinic. read more

I was at this location this morning at 8 a.m (6/8/17) for blood work. The waiting room was packed and there were only 3 employees in the entire place! One girl as a receptionist and 2 girls drawing back to back. The 2 phlebotomists did a great job getting everyone serviced. I was there for a little over an hour and at 9 a.m. I did see a third girl come in, she was very big and her appearance was very sloppy like she didn't care what she looked like at all but she then disappeared and still I only saw the 2 same girls servicing the waiting room. I work in the healthcare field and I know that appearance says a lot about a person and by the way she looked I wouldn't dare let her draw my blood!! read more

I came for a 10 am appointment. Arrived at 9:50 and walked out at 10:10 with full lab work taken care of in a very skilled manner. 7/1/2013 If you're not from the area, finding this place could be a little tricky. Other than that, I had a great experience today. I arrived at 1:50 and signed in. I had already entered all my information when I made my appointment online for 2:00. There were 3 adults and 4 children waiting (though I think it was their mother who was there for testing, not all four kids). Nevertheless, at exactly 2:00 my name was called. When he said the system was down, I thought for sure this was going to be bad news for me. Somehow though, the friendly young man at the window moved right along and sent me back for the blood test. At 2:07 I was in the room where they take your blood. Three minutes later, I was out the door. Now, yes, I noticed when I left there were two adults left; however, I also noticed when I signed in that none of the other people had checked the "I have an appointment" box. My experience with all Labcorps is that it really does help to make your appointment online and fill in all your insurance/ residence info online, as well. It will speed things up tremendously. I've never had to wait more than maybe 10-15 minutes max when I've done this, and I have to have blood tests every 3 months. Today, was a classic example. It's only first-come-first-served for those without an appointment. Those with an appointment move along as scheduled from my observation---much to the consternation of those who did not make an appointment. The man who was in charge of me was very friendly. This was our first and last time to Lab Corp! We got to the lab in Fairfax at 10:20am today and when I asked how long the wait, was given a curt response of 'don't know' without even looking up. Ok, a bit rude but no big deal. Was called at about 11:15, the wait was fine since we were a walk-in, to give the lab ppwk, insurance info and dr's contact info. Sat back down but never got called back, so asked 30min later if there was an issue. The same employee, named Shay, said I needed to call the dr's office to clarify on one of the lab test. I was infuriated, she already knew the issue and even had the dr's office number but waited until I came up to her to even bother to tell me?! I asked her why she just didn't tell me sooner and she said she got busy and shrugged, no apologies and clearly not caring. Wow. My goodness, no professionalism or common courtesy! I have put in a complaint with the company that an employee on the patient front line should treat all who walk in through the doors with respect, courtesy, and professionalism, and this employee failed on all 3. Another man asked why he was never called as it got close to closing time at 12pm and the same employee told him she couldn't read his name on the sign in sheet! He said she could've asked and she retorted back was she supposed to ask everyone in the waiting room. It was a very small waiting room with only about 5 people, including us, waiting. Would she have been happy if that occurred to her? This tells me either the lab corp company does not care about how their patients are treated by their staff when at one of their facilities or their staff training needs to be addressed. After reading some other comments at other locations, it seems it is also true at other locations as well. Hopefully the company will read the comments and consider them seriously. read more

I at this point wouldn't even want to give 1 star, except for location. This office is overcrowded, dirty, smelly and the staff are rude, unorganized and poor communication seems to be the norm. I made appointment, completed the paperwork, advised staff when I arrived that I had appointment and was told to sign in and someone would be with me soon. That was an hour ago, finally I went to front desk, asked about appointment where they informed me that I was not listed in the time slot that I had made appointment. No one until I inquired told me this or I would have cleared this up much sooner. After clearing this up the front desk asked me for my order, although my physicians had sent it, and my insurance card. I provided it immediately. Then I was again told that they would be right with me, that was 20 minutes ago and I'm still waiting. In short this is poor customer service and they do not care about others time...,Funny sign on wall stated that quote "Customer Service is our business" I teach in medical and have a customer service training class, this place doesn't even come close to meeting a positive customer service experience...,.patient beware...you have a choice of where to receive service! read more

From a medical point of view, they are ok.. The folks know what they are doing..but from a service perspective, they suck..there is an obscure sign up book kept at the counter and unless you have been there before you don't know about it. Nobody tells you to sign up. A first time patient sat for 20 minutes before she knew about signing up. Secondly, the receptionist is rude when i walked up to the window to ask her a question whether they provide a certain service, she asked me to take a seat and walk up when my number was called.. I saw 3-4 folks who came before me have their number called.. I asked one of them, if she had an appointment.. She said no.. So, the service is not in a first come first served basis.. Its a chaos..after waiting for 40 minutes, my name was called only to be to,d they don't perform that test.. What a pain in the you know where.. I tried to be polite and let the receptionist know that had she answered my question, the first time, it would have saved me 40 minutes.. She didn't seem to care..
