Labcorp facilities (in general) seem to get a bad rap for various reasons. I've been to a few of those myself. Today's experience couldn't have been smoother. The check-in staff were friendly and my phlebotomist, Lisa, was great & very experienced. I explained my concerns upfront- needing to lay down while having blood drawn, which vein works best and my anxiety. She talked me through the entire process and brought me water afterwards. They were so kind and accommodating while letting me take the time I needed to sit before leaving. This is one of the best Labcorp experiences I've had. Will definitely come back when/if more labs are needed. read more

The staff is relatively pleasant, but they don't understand their own system, can't find order, and from quarter to quarter as I do the same thing, they tell me different information. I have to have lab order resent. When I try to call to confirm they have my orders, they never answer the phone. read more

I'm surprised at all of the things that Labcorp does these days. They're also pretty efficient. Get your appointment. Go to the self check-in. And do what you gotta do. This particular location was surprisingly busy, but we got in and out pretty expeditiously. "Bedside manner" wasn't 100%, but it wasn't awful either. read more

I have no complaints at all about my trip to this LabCorp. The sign in process was very efficient, the staff was professional, and for walking in at a busy time the wait wasn't long. When you walk in there are large signs to use one of the three touchscreen tablets to sign in. It prompts you to scan your ID, which automatically populates the screen with your information. You then select how you're paying for the visit, such as out of pocket, through insurance, or paid by an employer, choose which test you need done, and take a seat. The whole process takes less than a minute and is much easier than writing everything on a paper form. Within a few minutes of checking in a receptionist called me to the front desk to sign paperwork. My total wait without an appointment was about a half hour, which was very reasonable considering that there were more than a dozen people ahead of me. The technician who administered my test was was professional and warm. I was in and out quickly and without incident. read more

took my 2 year old for tests, the staff was impatient and unfriendly. they did not interact with my child at all. not even a hello to him when they walked in, only talking to me. it took a while to get his blood to flow but in the meanwhile, the dr was just jabbing my poor baby not being gentle what so ever. not saying they should have better pediatric care, (which they should, but i understand the medical field is understaffed and it was totally my choice in going to this location) just saying don't go here for any pediatric testing! unless you want to listen to your baby beg for them to take the needle out while trying to cry their abc's as a distraction all while the doctor is not comforting him and rushing a 2 year old. hope this helps :) read more

So rude. I made an appointment online for 11am. I arrived in the parking lot at 10:50 and checked in on my phone. The site told me to wait in my car until I received a text message telling me to come inside. I received the text at 11:04 and walked right in. I sat for about 5-10 minutes until the front desk worker called my name, and I walked up to her rolling her eyes and saying "finally". I guess they must have been calling my name before I got the text to come inside? Don't use an online check in system if your staff doesn't even know how to properly use it, then treats their customers with insane rudeness when they follow the prompts. On top of that, I did not have my lab order printed out, but had it on my phone with the ability to fax it to their location. The front desk staff said I couldn't fax it because she wouldn't be able to print it. I'm sorry, but how do you print orders when they get faxed from doctors offices?? So I was treated awfully and couldn't even get my lab drawn. Awful experience and I will not be back. read more

This is the closest lab for my family (we go regularly) and this is the quintessential box of chocolates that Forest was referring to, cuz you never know what you gonna git here. You could have the sweetest staff ever or Nurse Ratched and all her cuckoos. You'll know when you know... also, you might get the feeling of eminent doom, but it usually passes. read more

Wow. I get that places like this have a serious lack of customer service. Maybe it's because the employees here feel like because you need to be here that they can treat you any way they want. I'm sitting in the waiting area and the front desk lady is on the phone with a patient. She is talking to him like he's and idiot and laughing with her coworkers about him. All because the man is asking for directions here. I wish I had the guts to tell her that she's embarrassing herself by not having basic human compassion for someone. I can't be that surprised with their lack of customer service, when they obviously have a lack of sanitation. Do you see this mold ? Cause it's on every vent in their waiting room. read more

I have used this location a number of times and have not encountered any issues. Always helpful, professional and it's quick -- done and out. I usually go in late afternoon And typically there are 4-5 people but it moves pretty quick. Haven't had any issue with the service and I'm a really bad stick so I would complain. Most of the time, barely feel anything. I recommend the day before and certainly 5-6 hours prior that you drink plenty of liquids so your veins are well hydrated. I'm a really difficult stick, blow veins, and have had some clinics have to get several people involved. At the Villa Park, they have been able to get it on first try. THAT MAKES ME HAPPY! I will continue to go there. Tip: I haven't needed it at this clinic; however, I just had my heart valve replaced and due to the Lasix I was pretty low on hydration -- lost 20 lbs in 3 days. The hospital used something I hadn't seen before. They filled a disposable glove with warm water and placed it there for about 10 minutes while she went to get another patient started. came back and boom, done. The vein was sitting up and I barely felt it. On the second time which was 2.5 days later, I had already blown a vein on one arm so weren't taking any chances. I had just had a A-line pulled in the same arm that blew which hurts like the devil. The other arm had two IVs which they put in prior to surgery, but one totally failed (was burning like heck so it had to be pulled). Then the last one was able to be flushed but wouldn't return any blood so they had to do a new tap - no choice. Because I was dehydrated, I was dreading it especially since I had just blown the vein in the other arm. But another nurse came in, laid that hand warmer on the area, waited a few minutes, talked to me about the beach right around the corner, and boom, she had it. I'm such a bad stick that I have cried it hurt so much, they have had 3-4 people working on me and can't get it. Usually at 3-4, I'm like, I'm done, I will come back the next day and get me an anesthesiologist to do it. so I was pretty amazed that it worked so well with being so dehydrated. So if you are a bad stick, have been sick etc and know you aren't well hydrated, or just don't want to deal with more than one try -- ask them to try the warm water filled glove. It's your veins and your body, they shouldn't refuse. It's like when they refuse to do a butterfly because it's slower. I'm sorry, due to many years of weekly blood work, my veins aren't in the best shape and we aren't sticking a 22 gauge in there just because someone wants to rush. That's when I ask for a manager --when they refuse or get snippy. Just a tip. Thankfully the folks at Villa Park Labcorp have all been friendly, and easy to get along. One even used a closer room so I didn't have to struggle so much to get back to her regular room which I really appreciated. The only thing I don't like is the Kiosk when there is a receptionist sitting right there. But also there is no where to place your pocketbook -- need a table at each machine so you can get your drivers license, insurance card out p, etc. without having to leave your pocketbook across the room in a chair. And the machines need an alert sound that you didn't pick up your license. Other than that, I will use them often. read more

Absolutely worst LabCorp I have been to. First the receptionist is very rude and should be in no position that works around people. Also, I understand that they were behind, but when my appt is an hour and a half late, the common courtesy is to let patients know that you are running behind. Been here 4 times for different employment drug tests. Without a doubt the worst customer service at any business I have ever seen. Tried to call ahead, after 4 attempts gave up and just showed up. The wait has never been less than 40 minutes and you can hear the staff laughing and joking around in the back while the front counter is empty and customers are waiting to be taken care of. The receptionist was extremely unhelpful. I was turned away immediately after walking in and was told "go to the kiosk to check in". I wanted to ask a question and was told "go to the kiosk and check in". Others have been told the same thing. Go to a different LabCorp where someone actually wants to help. read more

Giving blood has always been stressful to me, but from the front office staff to the nurse who drew the blood, this was a great experience. The front office people were professional and quick. The nurse who drew the blood saw that I had tiny veins. She checked both arms first to make sure that she found the easiest to draw blood from. Her first prick was the correct one. I was in and out of the office in 15 minutes! read more
