Everything went incredibly smoothly and they have their lab just around the corner, which also was highly efficient. I think also because the lab sends tests in house via the hospital, I was getting results in hours the day of my visit. I was impressed and didn't expect that fast of a turnaround (for non-emergency, routine tests). If you have UPMC, you know that you have a multitude of options, especially if you live in the city, and I think this is a good one! :) Stay healthy, Yinz!

In addition to walking by a gazillion times whilst living there, I'd also done some volunteering (with organizations and not directly with the hospital). It's world-class not only in medical treatment but in the care given to the children who are patients.

However once admitted, my daughter truly had the best care. Every doctor and nurse that cared for her were so thorough and really listened to us. My first visit was long and that made me feel so much more confident in being a new patient. He went over every detail I listed on the intake form, and asked tons of questions. I wish all Doctors were that thorough! I live in North Hills, but have no problem driving to Tarentum because of the excellent care I receive. Every single staff member has been friendly and empathetic and it's a very pleasant environment. Anytime I have questions or concerns, I can call and they are happy to help. They also have the most recent up to date treatments, which has helped me since I am very sensitive to medications. I just completed my first year of Botox, and also started Emgality today. Unlike other Specialists I've been to, Dr. Michel doesn't force medication, but gives you options, and is very open minded. I feel very respected as a patient because we actually talk about various treatments. I highly recommend Dr. Michel to anyone looking for an amazing Neurologist who truly cares. Waited an hour and a half. Had to leave and they said they would call when they have it figured out. They called only 2 days later. I set an appointment. They then called the next day 'to reschedule". They left a voicemail. When I called back I was repeatedly put on hold. They couldn't figure out who called me and then denied calling. After I played the voicemail for them they said they were unaware I already rescheduled. After I established I already rescheduled they said "its all on paper". Typically I go to the Robinson…read morelocation and the staff does such a wonderful job, but I went to the McKnight location since it's near my boyfriends house. The phlebotomist that did my blood draw was personable, but definitely not nearly as experienced as the folks in Robinson. She hit a nerve while doing the blood draw and I have had this awful shooting pain down my forearm, wrapping around my wrist, and onto my hand for a week now. It has restricted me from exercising, doing certain things at my job, & using my right arm for just about anything. This is the first time I have ever had to experience something like this and I wish that there was more I could do. I believe this was entirely avoidable and caused by negligence on behalf of this staff member. To make the situation worse, there is no way to speak to a representative or even get in contact with a phlebotomist. The phone number provided by Quest is extremely limited to its abilities and was useless to me. I wish that there was something else that I could do to better this situation, or even prevent this from happening to another person.

But, a tiny prick later and the deed was done. Thanks to the friendly and more importantly gentle folks at Passport Health, getting my annual flu shot was painless and due to their 'in office' Flu clinics, hassle-free. Just remember to wear a short or loose sleeved blouse should they make a visit to an office near you. ;)

With a shortage of our vaccine, this location was very convenient having hours open on the weekend.read more
