Patients do not need appointments for certain hours of the week. I arrived on a Friday morning, and I registered in at a kiosk. Several minutes later, an employee called me to her window, and she checked me in. I thought that she should have smiled, but she did help me. I waited many more minutes in a chair in the waiting area until another employee called me. I walked back to a room where a phlebotomist drew my blood. She made courteous conversation, and she easily inserted a needle into my antecubital vein to draw my blood. Hours later, the lab posted my results for the several tests on their website.

Quest Diagnostics offers a variety of tests in the following categories: women, men, digestive, heart, infectious diseases, STDs, and general health. I had an order for a Complete Blood Count (CBC). Quest Diagnostics accepts walk-in customers, but I highly recommend that customers use Quest Diagnostics's website to make an appointment. I made an appointment for 7:30 AM, which is when this location first opens, and a line of customers was already standing outside on the sidewalk. Because I had an appointment, I was the first customer to be seen, and the other customers had to wait. Please note also that this business currently requires customers to wear a face mask during the pandemic. One other customer did not have a face mask, and I had to give him an extra one that I had in my car. My total time spent at this business was 10 minutes, and that included standing in line to wait to check in. The phlebotomist was very friendly, efficient, and professional. She scanned my order form, and she checked my name, date of birth, and address. She immediately found my antecubital vein in my arm with her needle, filled and labeled my test tube, and bandaged my arm. She followed infection-control practices, such as wearing a mask and gloves and disinfecting my skin. At the end, she wished me a great day.

I usually go to different locations of Quest Diagnostics, but those other locations did not have any appointments available for the early morning, so I went to this location instead. I highly recommend that patients make an appointment days or even weeks in advance if possible, because appointment times fill up, and then patients who lack an appointment must wait in the waiting room until a phlebotomist has time to squeeze them in. My appointment was at 7:30 AM, and I arrived several minutes early. I checked into the touchscreen kiosk by scanning the barcode from an email, my identification, and my insurance card. I believe that three phlebotomists were working on that day. My phlebotomist started my appointment on time. She made some pleasant conversation with me as she easily drew blood from my antecubital vein. Then she gave me a labeled cup for my urine test. The bathroom was clean. My appointment ended after just a few minutes--efficient! Days earlier, I had ordered several laboratory tests through Quest Diagnostics's website, and the website made my test results available only about 20 hours after my appointment.

I returned the next day to Quest and had the most painful experience of my life trying to have bloodwork done. Two phlebotomists both tried twice to no avail and I had to leave. My left arm hurts for DAYS. The phlebotomist that first saw failed to scan the labwork prescription so when I went to a different Quest two days later, it took an additional 10-15 minutes to get all the information needed. Not the best experience overall, but the one I went to at McCandless Crossing and once we figured out what was needed, I had no issues and the phlebotomist was apologetic about my experience here.

I had to schedule routine labs through my PCP and had trouble finding available appointments elsewhere. I was able to get a Saturday morning apportionment here just a few days after I scheduled it. I arrived and checked it easily at a kiosk by scanning a QR code I received when I scheduled the appointment. Two minutes later I was called back and the nurse went over my paperwork. The nurse was extremely friendly and bubbly and just made me so at ease about being stabbed in a few minutes. She took me to the next room, chatting the whole time. In less than 5 minutes the whole appointment was complete. Quick, efficient, and easy! I really appreciated it!
