I've been here at least three times in the past year, and I've actually been coming to this medical group since I was younger because of my mom. She always trusted them, they took our insurance, and over time I just stayed with them. Now as an adult, I can confidently say they are a hidden gem. I don't know if healthcare should ever be considered a hidden gem, but that's exactly what this place feels like. They open at 11, and I'm writing this around 12:15, already being seen, which is huge. My situation today clearly qualified for urgent care instead of an ER, and I really appreciate knowing I can come here and avoid a chaotic hospital visit. What really stands out is how attentive everyone is, from the front desk to the clinical staff. I wish I remembered names because every single person I interacted with today deserves recognition. The front desk staff were welcoming and efficient, and even with an online check-in process, they still made everything feel personal. I was third in line and was quickly brought back for vitals. There was a medical assistant in training, and honestly, watching that interaction made me respect this place even more. You could tell she was nervous and learning, but she was incredibly kind, thorough, and professional. The trainer took their time, corrected gently, and clearly cared about doing things the right way. It was obvious they're investing in their staff, and I left thinking once she's fully trained, they're gaining another amazing team member. I've always been seen by nurse practitioners here rather than MDs, and that has never once been an issue. They're knowledgeable, thorough, and actually listen. Even when I've been in pain, the wait never feels unbearable because things move steadily and you know you're being taken care of. The facility itself is clean, organized, and easy to find. It's located in a medical building on the first floor to the left, and the exam rooms are spotless. Even when they're doing uncomfortable things like throat or nasal swabs, they're gentle and empathetic, which really matters when you're not feeling well. I'm genuinely thankful for this place. Every time I've come here, I've left feeling better and reassured. Today just felt like the right time to finally write this review because they've earned it through consistency, care, and professionalism. She claimed my issues were due to a poor diet and being on my phone in the bathroom, which was an assumption made up on the spot. She knew nothing about my daily habits or diet, nor did they bother to ask, which proves how false that claim was. She refused to believe I needed physical therapy and insisted I had mysterious, unrelated issues that were "not that bad." She seemed to believe that a young person cannot have pelvic floor issues, and I felt completely dismissed. I was treated like a naive, careless teenager rather than an adult struggling with uncomfortable and persistent symptoms. I trusted her with vulnerable health issues and an intimate exam, yet I was blamed, dismissed, and told that only a gynecologist could fix my problems. Her instructions were unclear, and they rushed through the appointment while blaming the rest of my symptoms on a routine they fabricated instead of simply asking me about my life. Her knowledge is incredibly outdated. She seems to want nothing to do with pelvic floor issues unless the patient is pregnant. Anyone, of any age, can suffer from pelvic floor dysfunction. This was a lazy, hurried, and old-fashioned approach to medicine, and I was not treated with respect during a vulnerable examination.

Don't even make the online appointment system an option if you can't manage your website correctly. But that's for the online portion and nothing to do with this location. After annoyingly finding out that I can't book a TB test through the Kaiser Permante app (was told that I could, but then it ended up being a blood drawing lab and that's not what I was looking for), I was bounced from the West Covina Medical Office on Sunset since there's no nurses there that can do a TB test for some reason??? At least not in a reasonable time where I didn't miss work, so I was instructed to do a walk in at the Target Kaiser clinic. Located left when you enter in, a bit past the pharmacy. There's a small waiting room with pretty comfy and large chairs and there's motion sensor that chimes and summons a clinician to see you. I had to wait around 30 extra minutes both times, but since this is in a Target and not in a medical building I had the freedom to shop around Target or go get a drink from the Starbucks inside. Genesis was friendly and welcoming in a very light hearted and casual way. None of that stuffy medical office coldness that you usually see when a clinic is super busy. TB test was quickly administered, I came back within the time frame needed 2 days-ish later, getting the read was quick and getting my paperwork quality was easy too. I probably get better care and get treated less like human cattle here than at the other locations.

I used to see Dr. Castellanos when I was a kid with my mom, roughly between the ages of…read more12-15(2004-2007). Now as an adult I've realized how horrendous of a doctor he was. Our family eventually stopped seeing him after 3 years of being under his care. We went to him because it was hard to find doctors who spoke Spanish in our area at the time. I'll start with the worst. My mom used to be really concerned for her health. Over time we realized her concerns were signs of what she's now developed, diverticulitis and other digestive issues. She often came in with pain and explained her concerns. Dr. Castellanos would tell my mom that she was fine and to take ibuprofen. Any time she came in it was the same thing even though her symptoms progressed - continue to take ibuprofen. Eventually she told my mom she was too worried and was a bother. We finally stopped going to see him when she used the restroom and found blood in her stool. She developed ulcers in her throat and stomach that were very painful when eating. After we stopped going to see him we found out all of her symptoms were the beginning of diverticulitis. In 2009 she ended up going to the ER because she was heavily bleeding when she used the bathroom. A diverticula had burst open and it was discovered she has 3 total that had developed. She was taken to emergency surgery. She's suffered through diverticulitis ever since with multiple ER visits. Dr. Castellanos was negligent as a doctor when presented with symptoms. He could have referred her to a gastroenterologist but never did. We had HMO at the time and eventually switched to PPO but it was after dealing with him. For my own case, I developed gastro issues around 12 and realized I had sensitivity to certain foods that lead to a lot of gas and odd noises in my intestines. I felt shy about it as a kid but was worried because I didn't want to sit in class having those noises come from my intestines because well... it was awkward. My side of the classroom could hear my gas issues and I didn't understand what was causing it. When I told him he blew me off and told me to eat more fiber. I didn't bother more about it or ask because I was too ashamed to ask more. Years later I realized I had food sensitivities and that I need to be careful to avoid dairy. All of this to say - I would absolutely NEVER recommend anyone to see Dr Castallanos. My mom could have sued him for negligence but decided not to. Seeing him still in practice now and talking to family about health made me 20 years later have to go back to write this.
