I had checked online to make an appt about a week prior but they had no Saturday appointments. I decided to come do a walk in so I arrived ten minutes before opening and waited outside. I will say that the workers here are very prompt and efficient. They were moving people in and out quickly. Even though we didn't have an appointment we waited about 20 minutes in the waiting room after check in so not bad at all. I think if you can make an appt ahead of time I would but in cases you can't try to come during opening to alleviate possibly long wait times. I was a late morning walk-in (New Years Eve). Checked in easily on one of the three kiosks, asked one of the clerks (she was pleasant) a question, and had a seat in the clean and spacious waiting area. It wasn't long before I was called in to give urine, and found the bathroom to be clean and tidy. Before I had a chance to get into my book, I was called in to have blood drawn. The plebotomist was very friendly and professional, and the lab area appeared to be clean. Over the past 20 years my spouse has had several surgeries and two transplants resulting in substantial vein scarring. Every medical visit requiring a blood draw gave us significant angst in that the phlebotomists generally made several attempts to find a vein with adequate flow. That all changed with Danielle Davis at Labcorp's Smoketown location. She gets it on the first stick. We are so pleased and relieved to have this issue laid to rest. Saturday I had an appointment for an employment drug test for a new job and I had to make the appt for a Saturday because I work during the week. I also had to drive 45 minutes from the city to get to this location to do it. There was an accident on the highway and I was one minute late checking in for my appt and they person at the front desk said they couldn't take me because I was one minute late. Great staff who provided amazing customer service. I was in town for business, but had a lab order from my doctor. I checked on the internet for the closest Labcorp near my hotel and this one popped up. I checked to see if there were any appointments available, but there were none. I decided that I would attempt to go as a walk in. When I checked the reviews, they were rated very low. I decided to take a chance. I showed up at approximately 6:45am (they open at 7:00am). The doors opened at 7:01am. I immediately went to the kiosk so I could get myself signed in, but it wasn't working. A staff member placed a sign in sheet out front and had us sign in. I signed in and was called back approximately 10 minutes later. A friendly staff member named Janet drew my blood and I was out by 7:15am. It wasn't crowded at all. I had a horrible experience here, I didn't realize what it was until after the technician stuck me, but there was someone else's blood on the outer tube she put around the needle. I complained to someone else working there and she went through the technician's cart and found several needles contaminated with blood on the caps. She said it was okay since they're still sealed but she threw them out. I would not trust this place at all, its a huge safety issue. They have a check-in kiosk you can check yourself in. The place is clean but ALWAYS packed and wait time is pretty long.

Make sure to make an appointment before you come. And if you waited over 10-15 mins, you will need to talk to the person in front desk, because their "express check in" system went down very often. My son needs a blood withdraw so I made an appointment on Monday at 11am. I arrived at 10:50am and finished the express check in at 10:56. I waited 30 mins, during the time I was reading the reviews on yelp. I saw someone if you made an appointment, and you have waited over 15 mins, you will need to talk to front desk because there system went down that day. So I waited in line for another 7 mins and told a gentleman my situation, I got the same answer (the system was down). I questioned "if your system was down then you should put a out of order sign for the express check in". After I talked to him, he checked me in very quick, and I got called after 3 mins after I paid. The lady who withdraw my son s blood was very helpful and nice. I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews here. I went this morning for an 8:15am appointment for bloodwork panel and was done and back in my car by 8:27! Checking in on the kiosk machine was super easy and quick. The coordinator at the front asked for my order right away and looked that up in a minute or two and then I got called back almost immediately to get it going. Terrible customer service and they don't disclose their actual hours of operation. Just because they are open doesn't mean they will do what you're there for. If you have to go here for some ungodly reason, definitely call ahead. I was there at 1450 ant the rude employees infomed me that they stop taking urinalysis test at 1500 and told me to come back another day. I guess that's what I get for interrupting their personal conversations. I'd understand that type of cander if I just walked up to their booth at a restaurant but they are on the clock. I have had to go there more times then I prefer lately but they have always been quick and easy! I go early in the mornings and never have to wait more then five minutes to be seen. I have been to the Smoketown Road, Virginia location of Labcorp many times in 2021-2022. Everyone I came in contact with has been very nice, extremely helpful and professional. I've never had to wait very long, even without an appointment. The phlebotomists are great at their jobs and have been painless. Once I was unable to give a specimen and was allowed to come back the next day. When I returned, they took my specimen promptly and I was on my way. it's a lab. What can I say? The guy behind the desk was pretty funny. Clean waiting room and 2 water fountains. They had a TV on so you can keep current with the latest happenings on the news. I didn't wait too long for my pre-employment drug screen. Because I knew the drug test required me to pee, I came ready! She had me pick a cup and I went. They were very bent out of shape that people were heading straight for the machines with the large sign that said "Check-In" on it. Yelling at the patients to come sign in first at the desk. This establishments needs training on customer service, from the people in the front to the actual nurses. I went there with my daughter, 1 yr old, to get her blood drawn. While I was being attended, there was an older woman checking in electronically. She stated that she had a condition and needed help checking in... to which the receptionist, along with her co-worker complained that how could you not know what to do, it's straight forward and so on. Loud enough for me and the woman to hear. When she did go over to the woman, she was very blunt and demeaning, talking about: "just follow directions." Customer service should not be done this way, especially to older patients. Then the nurse who was to draw blood from my daughter, couldn't find the vein (not my complaint). Instead of just moving on to the other arm, she preceded to search for the vein with the needle, stroking it back and forth and re-poking her over and over. When she did it to the other arm, I told her that was enough and said I would come another day. The way she was treating the situation, was as if my child was an adult, expire the screams. She made a snarky and unnecessary comment that not only my daughter (WHO JUST TURNED 1) couldn't take it, and neither "could mom." She don't know me, or my experience with 2 out for my 3 children whom have been poked plenty of times, hospitalized and in a NICU for months. so don't talk to me about "I can't take it." It was my first time going to this facility and I had the worst experience. Nurse Martina was very rude when taking blood work from my one year-old son she has no patience or no respect at all. she stuck my son five times to find blood, so my son started to cry of course and as she was going to put the bandage on she had asked me who was the mother and who was the child, because I had let go of one of my sons arms. He wasn't in her way of getting the bandages and he did not touch her arm or his arm where she had taken the blood from. I told her I thought she was done because I saw her take the needle out and she said obviously not and I could've made her get blood on my sons clothes. I understood that I could I got blood on my sons clothes but the comments that she was making was unnecessary and unprofessional as a nurse.Then when I went to the front desk to ask for her name the other employee,The other employee-was having a personal conversation on the business phone. These people shouldn't work in a facility that deals with customer service and especially that deals with younger children and first-time parents. I will never go back to this facility I would rather travel to Manassas or even further before I come back here and let them take blood out of my son or out of me.
