One of my favorite local hikes. There's a lot of variety here in various trails and some great inclines to get my heart pumping. It's clean, well-used, and feels safe. Bathrooms are always clean and well stocked. The trails are in great condition and the bridges are both beautiful and not slippery. I've been hiking here for over 10 years--it's a wonderful place to enjoy a few hours in nature. Plus, there's lots of shade in the summer. read more

Love this trail! There are three parking lots available, two on the smaller side. There are restrooms available during summer months. This park is very lush with picnic tables and grills spread out for privacy. The view of the lake is gorgeous! There are over 6 miles of trails, some of which intertwine. If you're new to these trails, a map is a good idea; one could easily get lost if not familiar as the trails aren't all marked. I just took a picture of the trail map by the parking area to have as reference in case I needed it. The trails are lush and mainly dirt and rocks. If you walk down to lower falls the trail can be a little more treacherous. Some of the hills are steep and some rocks loose. Make sure you wear the proper footwear. There are a few falls to see, many creeks, a dam and a couple lakes (Lacamas and Round). Overall a wonderful place to get outside for fresh air and beautiful scenery. Highly recommend. read more

Always on the hunt for trails and waterfalls wherever we roam, we happened upon Lacamas last weekend. Goal: to get a short hike in and see a couple of the parks falls along the way. So we first headed to the actual trailhead parking lot but ended up starting behind the elementary school instead. One big suggestion, before starting trails inside the park get a trail app if you've got something specific in mind, because trails have offshoots everywhere inside and most of them are not marked. We planned our trek ahead and paid a lot of attention to our app to get where we wanted AND back to our car within our limited time. Potential of getting a bit lost aside, I really liked the trails, as they were very natural and winding. We found our way to Woodburn Falls first, it was lovely. Flowing quite well right now, but with a VERY muddy approach. Next we found Lower Falls and the beautiful bridge that spans it. It's a gorgeous area, beautiful trees surrounding the rushing waters. We only covered a very small portion of the huge regional park, so much left to explore next time. Keep in mind that some of the trails here are foot path only, while others are for bikes. Wide trails and narrow, waterfalls and lakes... a great park to spend an afternoon for sure! read more

Beautiful Park with miles of trails. You can hike, swim, fish, canoe/kayak, bbq, play on the playground, or learn some history. This is definitely one of my favorite city hikes around the gorge. Come Early bring lunch and enjoy the ample views. Great Park read more

Simple hike/walk to creek with great view. We only walked about 20 minutes to get to the creek. Simple wide trail to follow with slight inclines. Dense green foliage was a pleasure to admire. There are many side trails were fun if you want to break off the main trail. read more

There are a few Yelp listings for the same general park/lake/trail...a Lacamas Lake listing, Lacamas Park listing and this trail listing. Nice lake & park with a couple of different trails for hiking and even some small waterfalls. One trail is 1.2 miles & goes around the smaller portion of the lake. The trails, for the most part, are not paved so if it has rained recently you will encounter mud. The trail around the lake has several small inclines and dips on the uneven earthen path. All easy to moderate hikes but something to keep in mind if you have little ones with you or someone with limited mobility due to the inclines, uneven trails and ground surface. There is a small playground area, picnic tables and a grill near the parking lot. There are also restroom facilities but, depending on what season you visit the restrooms may be closed (I think they are closed in the Winter). We saw some people fishing along the shore and lots of kayakers, folks canoeing & paddle boarding as well (there is a kayak rental place across the street). The parking lot is somewhat small considering the size of the park area and there is overflow parking down the road, but that lot is also small. Some folks park along the road and walk over so expect congestion during nice weather on the weekends. read more

I have been to the Round Lake Playground before with my son. It is a nice quality playground with lots to do. Unfortunately it was very busy the next time we came so we decided to pass on playing there. We explored the Round Lake side of the trail recently. The dam was totally unexpected for us and what a great sight! A huge manmade waterfall. The scenery along the trail was beautiful. There are lots of little trail offshoots that you can wander through. read more

Our family frequents these trails. This is an easy hike around Round Lake, near Camas. I love this 1.5 mile walk ! It is so beautiful, filled with lush trees. And the feeling that you are deep deep into the woods without needing your whole camping pack. I am amazed that round lake, and the surrounding trails are all so beautiful and the fact that are very few people around! I though that for sure we would run into a ton of people, but that wasn't the case. Dogs are welcome, as long as they are on a leash and there are poop bags at a few stations around the park as well. The first time we came here was for a photoshoot, and all the photos turned out breathtaking. When we need to get out of the house with the dogs or if we want a place to stroll, this is one of our top spots! read more

Has a gravel parking lot with a portapotty and a short wooden post labelling the trail. The main trail is wide and easy to walk on, and it takes about three hours to walk it round trip. There are more challenging trails that branch off of the main trail. There are some small waterfalls along the way. At the end of the main trail is a lake, dam, restrooms, and small playground. The lake had people fishing and kayaking, but signs say no swimming allowed. Saw some fish and ducks in the water. read more

Took the Lacamas Park trail to Woodburn Falls and Potholes Falls. An additional Lower Falls are at location but we did not have time and hope to return again.Bathrooms were closed but a porta potty was at beginning of park. We took our little dog and he did good. I did see some dogs without leashes. That made it difficult to maintain my dog when approached from behind without notice. Some incline but easy. Wear hiking shoes if you want to see the falls better and map is a little confusing. Thanks to passing walkers we were helped. When you take the trail to Woodburn Falls...keep to the right at the crossing paths. The other way you may get lost or extra unnecessary trail hike. Also be courteous while entering the top of dam you will cross at beginning of trail. Some hikers are impatient at the dam entrance. People with dogs or small kids might be a little tight squeeze if they don't wait. read more

Nice little trail with a good amount of beautiful hardwoods to enjoy along the way. Some people swim in the lake but I'm not so sure that I would recommend it. The water has a funny smell to it at some points of the trail. Overall, I'm thankful this trail is so close to home and we have it as an option for a walk. The paths are well maintained which is a plus. If you have a dog, pick up the dog's poop please- and don't leave the poop bag on the trail. If you smoke, don't be a moron- pick up your cigarette butts please. read more

What a nice, laid back trail in Camas. Very well maintained, even during a busy holiday weekend. The trail itself is pretty easy, but has a variety of different environments (steep, sloping, paved, cobble and dirt). I imagine it's a great spot if you like trail running, or trail biking. There are two lakes, where you can go fishing (and I assume swimming, but the quality of the water is questionable). Lots of shade providing trees, which is great on a hot day. There are also two different parking lots, I parked at the south lot, and it was nearly full by 11am. It was Memorial Day weekend, so it was expected, but I imagine this trail must be very popular among locals. read more

I love this trail simply because I can access the trail from my backyard (basically). This is a great loop that goes around the lake and has some nice views. It isn't a very challenging hike, more like a nature trail walk with some steep points. A lot of people do fishing during the day, I let my dogs swim in the lake, they love it. The only downside of the trail is people don't pick up after their dogs. It's disgusting. Just because you put it in a bag, doesn't mean it's going to throw itself away. Be responsible people. read more

This was a pretty nice place for a hike. The trails are well maintained but they could be marked a little better. Lots of waterfalls. There were also a lot of bikers on the trails which was a little surprising because it gets pretty rough in several places. The trails are also narrow in those rougher areas making it impossible for both bikers and hikers to move at the same time. Overall it's a nice place to visit once. read more

Probably isn't fair that I'm reviewing this since I grew up pretty much across the street. When I was younger I never understood all my friend's parents saying how awesome & lucky I was to live here. Fast forward a bunch of years. Now I see why they all said that. I took this place for granite when I was younger. Back then It was just something to go do for 1/2 the day. Go hike, bring a lunch eat it someone where on the trail, go swimming, get lost on the trails that aren't on the map. This place is so amazing! Great place to go hike with your friends or 4 legged friends. You can bbq, have a picnic, fish, play on the play ground. The pot holes are so much fun to go to (they can be a bit intimidating when you're younger), but always was an adventure! Seeing the dam is always so much fun, especially if you've never been here before. The loop trail is pretty short, a lot of joggers on it. It can get crowded, especially on sunny weekends! There are plenty of trails that aren't nearly as crowded. I love to get lost on all the side trails in the park. During the spring the hillside overlooking one of the waterfalls is gorgeous. All the flowers are in full bloom & it smells like spring! There's a few waterfalls in this park. One has a bridge going over it. I think it's when they lower (or raise it, one f the lake is when you can go play on all the rocks below the bridge. This is pretty much a great little gem in stinky Camas. A great place to take for the whole family, if you want to go fishing, have a get together, go clear your mind, or for a fun active date! read more

Nice trail for sure! My parents actually used to drive me here to teach my siblings and I how to fish. Usually we would catch Blue Gill here. Hiking the trails as an adult makes me more appreciative of the view around me. One thing I never noticed was how gigantic the trees are. There are small areas set up with benches where you can grill food- great for family gatherings. There is also a playground here. As for the trail itself, it is your typical trail. It is mainly flat and easy. Definitely a leisurely hike. read more

I've been hiking this trail for a few years now. It's always been beautiful, but the last couple of years some of that beauty has been disappearing to make way for million dollar mansions and a building the city can rent out for events. I guess it's a good thing the city is making money off "useless" land, but I'm not happy to see the walls of trees, which gave the illusion of being in the middle of a forest, make way for rich people's homes. The path is just over six miles out and back. It doesn't go in a circle around the water. It's just a straight path one way and then back to where you started, looking at destruction of the trees along the way. Along with the loss of habitat, more road noise creeps in on the walk. I used to walk this path, and not hear any cars. Not so much anymore. This is still a good trail for warmer days, as the air is always cooler by the water, and the path is shaded for over ninety percent of it. The path is narrow, and with some blind hills and corners, you may not see runners or bikers coming towards you until you almost run into one another. The path also turns to gravel fairly quickly into it, so it may not be the easiest for strollers and wheelchairs. I'm glad to have access to this path. I hope what's left is left alone. read more

This was a really great hike! We did most of the little shoot off trails and visited all of the waterfalls and the Lilly Loop (that was pretty dead by July, I think you have to go in the Spring to catch the wild flowers) We really enjoyed the beautiful forest, the waterfalls, the pothole falls. One of the most scenic trails I've been to since I moved to the Pacific Northwest. Very much to offer with labeled trails as well as routes off the beaten path. Most loops lead to the main trail so very little chance of getting lost. Great for easy and moderate hikes. read more
