Our mechanic was well-trained, professional, and was able to winkle out the problem with our engine in good time. They do the work you need, and don't try to 'gild the lily' or pad their labor time. THE THORNS: Hourly rate is steepish, but I suspect it's in line with what comparable yards are charging. Most importantly, they DO make the most of each hour they charge for, so you are getting good value for money. THE VERDICT: Considering that there's probably not that much competition here, they really have the opportunity to take advantage of people if they wanted to. The point is they don't! These guys are straight shooters, and you can have them work on your boat with confidence. Highly recommend.

The back window of my soft-top convertible had imploded from the heat of August, 2022. There was only one upholsterer in my whole county who worked on convertibles and he was too busy to take it. I live in Lynden, WA and the next closest shop was Ted's in Arlington, an hour and a half drive from my home. Gene agreed to fix my window, took down the information he needed, ordered the window to fit and had everything ready by the time of my appointment. He thought it would take about 5 hours to do the job. A friend drove down to Arlington with me and we hung out at a nearby park after meeting with Gene. (We drove to the park, he walked to the park and picked up my car. Mobility is an issue with my friend and I.) Three hours later I got a call from him asking if we were ready to be picked up. The cost was comparable to others I'd been quoted - and then turned down. Gene was friendly, knowledgeable concerning the window and working with insurance companies, and fast. Took my truck in because my truck had a bent tire. He told me it just needed axle seals replaced…read more Quoted $1700 replaced the seals. Uncharted me $200 because h said it was "hard" to get off. The next day after he supposedly fixed the tire, the wheel was wobbling so bad it almost fell off. Had to take it in to another shop. They looked at it for 5min and already told me it was a bent axle and it should have never had the seal replaced. Not only did they install a new axle, bearing, and seals, but they did it for half the price and actually gave me a military discount cheaper than the quoted price! I called rosten and he denied any responsibility and refused to do even a partial refund. What a joke of a mechanic and business. I highly recommend Stryker auto in marysville instead. They do quality work for a great value and test drive everything they fix.
