We can't say enough about Tom & Jerry's Boat Center...great selection, helpful yet easy going staff and everyone is willing to help when you call, even if your salesperson is busy. John Wells was ours and he has been totally awesome to work with and get to know. He checked in via text or a phone call several times during our first week to see how we were enjoying our new boat or if we needed anything. His follow up after the sale continues, even after 90 days....AMAZING! The store has a great selection, they'll get you rigged up just like you want, and they don't rip your head off on the price. The entire family is really enjoying the boat life. If you live in the Pacific Northwest, you've got to have one. We're having a blast! I would definitely recommend Tom & Jerry's. Be sure to ask for John Wells. He's terrific.

You can even take lessons or join one of their sales. The museum is free and it's not huge, but it's really nice. There's a "sister museum " on Camano Island but it's currently closed. I recommend Center For Wooden Boats if you're in the Lake Union area and are looking for a fun way to spend a few hours. The downside to this place is that, despite the parking lot right out front, the parking comes with a fee and the spaces fill up quickly. The streetcar stops right in front, but as a former volunteer it's inconvenient for me due to the time and amount of transfers it takes to get here using public transportation. But it's a fun place so if you don't mind the lack of free (and sometimes even paid parking is non existent) parking, this place is worth a visit

There is no better view of South Lake Union than the CWB piers and it is fun to take the kids for the boats as well as to watch the sea planes from Kingfisher Air take off. Kids LOVE sea planes. Walking the piers is fantastic, the boats and the boat shop will make you want to pick up a mallet and chisel. The park that sits between the CWB and MoHAI is great in the summer. Parking can be sketchy right in front, but it is serviced by tram.

Booking our adventure was extremely easy via the San Juan Cruises website. I greatly appreciate how detailed the reservation information was, and most importantly how courteous the entire team was throughout our time aboard. The team went into great detail about our journey, history on each island we passed, and insights on the protected wildlife we could possibly encounter during our voyage. The vessel was extremely accommodating for all of us on board, ample seating, viewing opportunities, and two restrooms. The team makes an excellent warm lunch was provided; while snacks and beverages were available throughout the entire duration of the voyage (grab a cup of coffee Blue Herron coffee beans based out of Bow, WA makes a great cup!) We managed to encounter eagles, seals, walruses, dolphins, a gray whale, and two different orca pods. Each sighting was absolutely breathtaking and majestic! I could not ever imagine going to a theme park to view these magnificent animals. The voyage takes between 5-6 hours plan, you'll be surprised at how quickly that time goes by. Helpful tip for parents bringing children feel free to pack coloring books, board games, binoculars, and snacks for your littles the San Juan Cruise team welcomes it for the little voyagers. My parents have already had planned to book an excursion during their visit next month, and I highly recommend for anyone who lives in or visiting the area to do so as well!

So we went to the lake. This lake was located right around the corner from our Airbnb. Its very easy to find and if you get here early enough there is lots of parking. We just brought our towels and swim suits and picked a spot on the grass near the sand. It was a very sunny day out in Washington. The kids headed right out and walked out to the floating decks. They were able to jump off and swim around. They had so much fun. We were here all day. They have a small snack shack with limited options. We got ice cream at some point. Then suddenly the kids and my husband decided that they wanted to take a paddle boat out into the lake. I had no interest. They had a good time. I personally thought it was too windy and at some point my husband had jump out and swim push the boat back to the shore. He made sure to let the people working that they should warn people that the wind may make it very hard to paddle back to shore. All in all it was a fantastic afternoon. The kids wanted to come back again but our trip was cut short and the time we did have didn't account for a second visit. Not sure we will ever be back again but we would if we could.
