John Wells was ours and he has been totally awesome to work with and get to know. He checked in via text or a phone call several times during our first week to see how we were enjoying our new boat or if we needed anything. His follow up after the sale continues, even after 90 days....AMAZING! The store has a great selection, they'll get you rigged up just like you want, and they don't rip your head off on the price. Stay away from this place unless you like paying extraordinarily high hidden fees. I took my boat to T&J for bottom painting. When I picked it up there was a $325 fee added to the bill. Apparently they outsource their paint work and have to ship boats offsite to do so. The customer gets stuck with this ridiculous service charge. Surprise. For $325 I could have transported the boat to Tacoma to have it painted for half the price. A total scam. Save your money and frustration by dealing directly with someone who provides painting services rather than using this unscrupulous middle man of a company. read more

I or my family members have purchased at least four outboards from Tom-n-Jerry's -- two 200HP Hondas, a 300 Yamaha, and a used 15 HP Honda. We have worked with them well over a decade, and plan to continue to do so. Their shop rates are not the cheapest, but their work is done well and is backed up. One of the 200 Hondas was sunk at the dock during a large storm a few years ago. TnJ/s rebuilt it quickly and well. Honest and dependable. read more

I have never in my life had such poor customer service! I dropped my boat off for a simple 300 hour service and this is when the nightmare began. I will give the short version. 1. I couldn't pick the boat up because while they were doing the sea trial they hit a piling with the trailer and ripped the wheel off of the trailer so they said. Waited over a month for them to get the wheel in only to then here that now the axil is bent. Waited another month finally the axil is fixed this hole time they never call to keep me updated I'm always calling them. Go in pay the invoice and see they have not completed all of the work that was requested! Finally get the boat home and guess what? No keys :-(. Call in and ask the service agent that has been a nightmare to deal with since day one where the keys are he checks and tells me they don't have them. He then proceeds to tell me to call a Johnson dealership and buy new ones. I ask him if he can handle this being they are the ones that lost them? He tells me its not his problem and he is sick of dealing with me. REALLY. Oh by the way the trailer looks real nice with one new wheel and three old ones! Buyer beware of these guys.. Oh by the way I was going to buy a $300,000+ Kingfisher From their salesman John to bad for him and this dealership I bought a great boat from Sundance and they were Awesome. My husband and I found a boat we were interested in on Craigslist. We made a phone call on a Saturday and spoke with Lee. He was very knowledgeable and gave us the information we needed. We live 3 hours from the dealership and knew they were not open on Sunday. We called Lee back and asked him if he could possibly meet us Sunday. He said of course! Lee gave us exceptional service! I purchased a 9.9 Yamaha used motor. Realized the shaft length was too short for my boat. Requested to return and purchase a new motor with longer shaft. They offered $300 less in exchange for the used motor that I had not used. Purchased a new engine else where and sold the used engine on line. Will not go back! read more

I can not say enough about Kirk in the service department!, I had an issue with my Honda 9.9 kicker motor, I started it up prior to leaving the dock, ran for 15-20 seconds then stopped, went to restart it and it was froze up, I called all the shops around they wanted me to bring it in they said it must seized up and would have to be rebuilt. I called Tom & Jerry's in Mount Vernon got a hold of Kirk in service Dept, explained what happened, He said to remove the hood and tap the starter, because it was stuck, I did this and heard a POP sound, tried to start it and it started immediately, and has been running perfectly since. I went in to get a bunch of different boat parts, Steering ram, shift cables, Mounting bolts, wiring harness, blah blah. After waiting for a few minutes for Kim Bryson to finish her conversation with Scott Roberts about how and I quote "how shitty customers are." I got to meet the horrible Kim Bryson I explained that I needed a bunch of things that were going on to a boat with a custom bracket and what motor I have. She then laughed at me and walked away. When she returned she acted as I was irritating her with my presents, rolling her eyes and shacking her head as I spoke, I know how dare I try to give them my money in exchange for goods. She was absolutely horrible the worst customer service I have ever experienced, she asked me "how do you want to get the parts you need if you don't have the part numbers. At that point I walk out and will never return. I recommend never stepping into Tom-n-Jerrys. Requested a quote from a salesman on a honda and yamaha outboard purchase, i wrote the quoted price down and lost it. After calling back a couple of days later i was quoted another price, wrote it down and placed it on the desk in the office. About a week later i found the original quote that fell behind the desk, the 2 quotes are 350.00 higher for the honda and 300.00 higher for the yamaha. Im wondering what is going on, so i call again and asked what is up with this, the salesman basically said take it or leave it. Awesome people skills. I was born and raised in the Seattle area and my family has always owned boats. 3-years ago we were in the market for a new fishing boat and purchased a 24' Hewescraft from Kelly at Tom & Jerry's. This boat is awesome! But, the best part of the experience has been the service we have received from this dealership. This is a boat. It lives in the salt water, and requires maintenance. Boats break and things need to get fixed. I have had a few occasions (over 3-yrs) where something went wrong and I called T&J's. In every instance I was able to drive the boat to their dock and they fixed it on the spot, in short order and I was able to drive it home. Originally, my plan was to do all winterization myself; and I told them that. So, they offered to show me how to do it at the end of the first season (which they did). Well, I learned how to winterized both engines, but their cost was so reasonable I can't justify doing it myself. Great boat! Fair prices, and an exceptional service department. read more

If you're looking for an honest service center that does excellent work at a competitive price, you won't find that at Tom n Jerry's. My first and only experience was truly noteworthy for all the wrong reasons. There is no concern for quality, cost, timeliness, or the customer concerns, in ANY respect. I've had many experiences at numerous car and boat maintenance facilities - these guys want your money, and they're arrogant enough to make that clear. They won't care if you ever come back. If you're having good luck with this place now, I only suggest you peruse your next bill, find any item they've billed you for, and look up the cost on the Internet. Then ask how they bill their hourly work - they admit they have guys that are "much slower than others" and they'll find an excuse why the slower guy had to work on your boat....and why they don't charge different hourly rates depending on how good the mechanic is. If you're with these guys now, you definitely need to reevaluate. I've spoken with past employees from this place and the echo IDENTICAL sentiments. There are several options in the area - this place is definitely not one of them. They would get ZERO stars if I could rate them this way. read more
