Hands down the BEST currency exchange you will find in all of Los Angeles County -- take my word for it! LA currency has NO TRANSACTION FEES and can send you immediate quotes on Yelp! Though there's no way to "lock in" a rate, they still offer the best possible rates and even a wide variety of currencies. My trip only required Euros and GBPs, but it was really good to see that there are some Asian currencies available here for when I do plan to return to the homeland. * There is a Yelp offer where you receive $3 off your transaction when you check-in * I'm not really sure how this factors into your costs, but hey, it's money I get back and I like the sound of that! Please note that for all transactions over $1000 you will need 2 forms of ID, such as a driver's license and a passport. I had foolishly forgotten my passport and couldn't find my SSN, but thankfully I was still able to pick it up because I knew my SSN by heart. I wouldn't recommend this, so please be sure to plan ahead. LA Currency is tucked away in the tiniest plaza with the lease amount of parking. The sign also just says "Currency Exchange" from the street side so I almost missed it. But for the amazing rates I received, and the great customer service they had, I would certainly recommend this to any traveler looking to get ZERO transaction fees for exchanging currency. read more

Great place to exchange money before trips. I have used them several times before whether it's yen or quetzales or pesos.

The easiest place to exchange currency! Had to switch dollars for euros the day before my trip and it couldn't of been easier!

I called LAcurrency and asked them if they had a specific currency on hand. The woman who answered said that they did have it, and in the amount I requested. I told her I was coming by to get it. When I got there, I was told they only had 40% of what I asked for. When I said I was told the currency was there, they asked me if I placed an order. The woman on the phone never asked me to place an order - I didn't even know that was an option, she never mentioned it as a possibility. Th girl behind the bulletproof glass asked me to wait as she called the Hollywood location to see if the amount of my requested currency was available. She said it was. LAcurrency Van Nuys told me that they had what I required. They did not. I was now forced to go somewhere else. The inability of this place to communicate the options and policies in place, wasted a lot of time and energy for me, as I was forced to head to a second location to secure my requirements. Today was my third time that I have visited this location. And once again It was very pleased experience. I called them on Thursday. To ask if the still had the eropien money that I was looking for. Mary Spock to me on the phone and ask me if she should hold it for me and not exchange it to some one else! I told her that would be super grateful because I well not be able to go to there location untill Saturday morning. I called them on that same day to let them know that I was coming to exchange the money and Mary kept her word not to give it to another customer that also ask for the same denomination Bill.
