Appreciate the work the City does. They recently handed out turkey to La Puente residents for…read moreThanksgiving which was a beautiful way to give back. Plenty of people in the line, but staff was friendly, met the mayor who was so gracious, and the building itself was easy to navigate. Its great to see the city hosting wonderful events like this. I have noticed an influx in parking tickets in the area. Specifically on our side of the town, the parking enforcement officer goes ahead of the street sweeper and cites people like crazy. The previous officer was less vigilante about it as he would drive behind the street sweeper, which at times allowed for someone to race out in the event they forgot to move car. He seemed to have more empathy for the working families in the city. New parking enforcement officers seems to have a quota he needs to meet. Had a neighbor cited for expired tags, even tho vehicle was inside their property, which I learned ticket person could not do! Another neighbor for being too far away on the curb. Be aware of the guy.

Hey La Puente City Hall, stop hiring nasty rude admin!! Norma Ramirez at nramirez@lapuente.org…read moreclearly hates her job, people and probably herself from the sarcastic tone in her voice. I'm not the only person who feels the same. I know politics plays a big role in filling open positions but we can DO BETTER by stepping away from that classic stereotype that all City & County workers are A-holes; especially office positions that have to engage with the public face to face or over the phone. They are the face and the first person in contact.. they are making you look really bad. Hire someone competent and people oriented.

I called the Industry station about alarm permits to find out how to file for an alarm permit in Hacienda Heights. Luckily, Industry station DOES NOT require an alarm permit for its areas of coverage, which includes HH! Cheers for saving $30 a year!!!!!! I still need to double check that I don't need an alarm permit since my alarm company said that I do in their initial e-mail to me. If that's the case, I'll update the review and let you guys know. The dispatch or station clerk who picked up was courteous. I thought they might be impatient as I was asking questions since today is July 4th, but the guy was very helpful. Not a bad experience at all.

After I explained that CHP had already directed me there, he told me they do not take reports for incidents on private property and said to go through insurance instead. He also stated, "We're not going to do insurance's job for them." Throughout the interaction, he was very dismissive and did not seem interested in listening to the situation or providing any guidance beyond telling me to contact insurance.
