I recently purchased a home in Buena Park. I was at the house today, supervising renovation work,…read morewhen an officer on patrol stopped to speak with me. He asked if we were still planning to tent the house this weekend. I confirmed that we originally planned to fumigate this weekend; but this task was rescheduled. I did not realize that when I contracted with the pest control company, that firm applied for a permit and stated that the house would be tented during the Thanksgiving weekend. This information was shared with the police. Maybe you've heard of this scenario before: A house is tented over a long weekend, and criminals use the opportunity to burglarize the house. The officer was polite and professional. I feel it was a positive interaction. And I derived a sense of security knowing information like this is shared with officers, to enhance their situational awareness.

I was pulled over yesterday by Officer S. Cerda after running a yellow light too late. I pulled…read moreover immediately, had my windows down, and my license ready before he approached. After providing my information, I was asked additional questions about my whereabouts. I was fully cooperative and honest throughout the interaction. I also consented to a search of my vehicle, as I had nothing to hide. Despite that, I was asked to step out, placed on the curb, and treated in a way that felt unnecessarily disrespectful and excessive for a traffic violation. The tone and approach did not match the situation. This experience has changed how I will handle future interactions. Moving forward, I will be more aware of my rights and limit my responses accordingly. All because of officers like Mr Cerda. People like him are what change the public's perception about law enforcement. Never in 15 years of diving and 4 interactions have I been treated in that way , with no provocation at all. Remove your Badge Mr Cerda, and your god complex won't serve you justice anymore, asshole.

As a Cypress resident I have…read morenothing but love for our PD, they do a great job and it shows in our way of life here. :) We called and scheduled a tour for our Cub Pack and they were quick to take care of us, the kids loved every second, and it's always cool to see the workings of something you may not ever otherwise (unless you're being a naughty monkey and find yourself there, not judging). ;) Jokes aside though, I'm glad we have such a strong tie between our citizens and our first responders here in Cypress.

Officer Shockey--A True Example of Service with Humility…read more We recently had to call the Cypress Police Department because a vehicle had dropped debris all over our street, creating a serious hazard for drivers. Officer C. Shockey responded to the call, and his professionalism and kindness left a lasting impression on our whole household. Not only did he assess the situation quickly and ensure everyone's safety, but when the city cleaner arrived, Officer Shockey didn't just stand by--he rolled up his sleeves and helped sweep the street himself. Watching an officer take that kind of initiative and humility was genuinely moving. In a world where we often only hear about the negative, I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the positive. Officer Shockey exemplified what true public service looks like: not authority, but compassion in action. Thank you to him and to the Cypress Police Department for showing that integrity and care still define what it means to protect and serve.

The loud banging sounds from the neighbor has not been resolved yet, but I believe I'm in good hands and I feel like I have. I have a great group of police officers in my city that will try their very best. No obviously don't want to bother them too much but still, they are very helpful. Again, I can't thank the officers enough, especially the ones who came into my home and spoke with me for being great people. The Thank you.

The La Habra operator who answered my call was shockingly rude, impatient, and completely lacking any empathy. Instead of calmly helping someone who had just been in an accident, she sounded irritated and dismissive, as if my emergency was interrupting her day. It's honestly disturbing that someone with that level of attitude is trusted to be the first point of contact for people in crisis. Dispatchers are supposed to bring calm to chaotic situations, not add more stress to someone who is already shaken and scared. If this is the standard of professionalism for La Habra dispatch, that's a serious problem that needs immediate attention.

The lobby was empty and there is a sign to wait for someone to come help since the 911 operators have to answer calls and assist the lobby walk ins. We waited for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile we can hear the conversations and laughter of employees in the room next to the lobby (where the dispatchers are at). That was a bit disappointing since we just needed that release paperwork to get my car. Finally someone came out and asked if we'd been helped. Um no we haven't. So I provided the police report and my DL. 10 minutes later I was handed a paper that literally had my name written on and my DL # and license plate. That's it. That's pretty much the release form lol oh and the signature of the person that handed me the form. We were finally out of there.

Norwalk Police Station always gives us excuses why they can't come or investigate a crime. After fixing the exhaust on my car I went to Stanton CHP, Westminster PD, and Westminster Courthouse to get it inspected. Westminster PD told me that they couldn't inspect it and that I would have to go to a CHP office where they would do it for free. Upon arriving to the Stanton CHP, we were rudely greeted and Officer Mitch told me that they don't inspect these type of tickets and that I would have to pay the state referee $120 to sign off my FIX IT ticket! Finally, I went to GGPD as my last stop, and the person at the front desk, an older gentleman wearing a blue button up, listened to my story and recommended that I call Officer Raney, the officer that pulled me over. He proceeded to give me the hours that Officer Raney was in office. The next day, I called GGPD and was kindly greeted by Maria, a front desk worker. She was very helpful and gave my phone number to Officer Raney. I explained to Officer Raney the troubles that the other departments, and even he questioned why they were giving me such a hard time. Raney then agreed to meet up with me to do the inspection the next day, and we got it taken care of. Overall, the officers and staff at Garden Grove PD were all so kind and professional. They were the only ones who didn't shoo me away for the minor infraction. They guided me throughout the whole process of clearing my ticket. Special thanks to all of the people from GGPD for keeping our community safe!
