Before coming to Lady Leo Beauty Salon, I had two other main beauticians that I went to for over 10 years. One I would go to for my wash & sets/perms, and the other I would go to for my hair styles (weaves, ponytails, etc). I had to have two different beauticians because one was good at caring for my natural hair and the other was good at giving me suitable hair styles. However, my hair would constantly break and after a while my edges completely fell out. Now mind you my hair is naturally very thick & coarse so for me to witness my hair falling out so drastically was very devastating. To say the least, I knew I was not getting the right hair care treatment and I also wanted to find one beautician who could do it all for me (wash,perm,weave, treatment, etc). This is when I decided to take that brave step and look for a new beautician. I got online and googled "hair specialists in Brooklyn, NY" and that is how I found Karen of Lady Leo Beauty Salon. I've been a regular client now for over a year now and as long as Lady Leo is in business she will be the only one doing my hair. When I first came to Karen almost a year ago, my edges were gone and my hair was breaking badly. After the first few weeks of treatment I could see a difference in my hair from the manageability, to the end of breakage and minimal shedding. At the time I was almost two years natural so for me to take out a weave done by Karen and have my hair being soft and manageable to comb through this was a major deal! I am happy to say that today my edges have been restored and my hair is the longest & healthiest I've ever seen it in my 26 years of life (it is touching the middle of my back). I initially found Lady Leo Beauty Salon via Google search and then here on Yelp. The first thing that stood out was the client photos. They were photos that seem to be taken in their hair salon which I liked, because most hair salon websites I searched had glamor photo shots which is nice also but, I wanted to see what the average person looks like after having their hair done. The second thing that caught my attention was Lady Leo's client testimonials. The testimonials had client photos attached which was a plus but not the deal breaker for me to take the chance and go there. After a couple of months of trying other salons I decided to call and make an appointment at Lady Leo. When I called she was very polite and professional she patiently answered every question I overwhelmed her with and offered me a free consultation. Once I arrived Karen who also calls herself Lady Leo was very nice and seemed very knowledgeable about hair, I had maybe a 10 minute wait once I arrived. I noticed the first thing she did was inspect my hair and questioned me on the history of my hair care. She also gave me a free treatment and deep conditioner because I was a first time customer which I had no complaints about. Overall the service was great! My hair weave came out beautiful and I received a lot of compliments on my hair. My hair looked so natural I left her salon feeling like it was my natural hair. I will be back. read more

I have been going to Lady Leo for many years now and I must say that she works magic on this head every time! She is very friendly and the salon is very warm and non judgmental. Not only does she give you a great hair style she also tell you how to maintain your style and what you should use in your hair for your type of hair texture. Because she is the only stylist in the shop with a wonderful assistant the down fall of that is you could be in the salon for most of your day, so if you do have plans I suggest you don't make them on the day you go get your hair done unless you have an 8 am appointment. She also hold events in the summer as a thank you for being a loyal customer such as cookouts, breast cancer awareness and so much more. Lady Leo has been around for many many years and is very experience in what she does. She is also very stylist and fashion forward. Every time I go to this salon I leave with a smile on my face and feeling beautiful! Last weekend, I had the most amazing experience at this salon. It was my first time going and I immediately felt welcomed and a part of the salon family. Karen, the owner, welcomed me by name which I was surely not expecting. I quickly settled into a chair and her assistant manager skillfully began to prep me for Karen to complete my look. She was very professional and extremely attentive. She and Karen both asked me several times if I was ok and thoroughly explained exactly what they would be doing with my hair. I felt informed and comfortable with their level of expertise. Once I sat in the chair my head was in good hands and with in a few hours I was on my way home. I have never been out of a salon that quickly and have never been SO HAPPY with the way my hair turned out. Karen and her staff really embraced me and I am beyond satisfied with my hair. I've never gotten so many compliments and have never been so happy with the out come. The best part is I was in and out so quickly. I have been going to Lady Leo for years and she has managed to help my hair grow down my back. She gives me tips on how to take care of my hair and she is a wonderful person very warming and kind. I also forgot to say that I have natural hair no perm for over 6 years now and with a pressing set of Miss Lady Leo touch and my hair is straight and bouncy nice and healthy I always have a great experience everytime I go to her salon I have referred my friends and I would refer anyone to go to Lady Leo if you want excellent work she can do any style you bring in weather it's from a magazin Or the Internet she is just simply wonderful I love this place!!!! read more

Both my daughter and I have been going to Lady Leo for several years. I live in Westchester and make the trip because of my stylist, Karen. My daughter attends college in Nashville, TN and will not allow anyonel but Karen do her hair. I rate Karen 5+ stars for how glamorous she makes me and my daughter look.
