Being a new venue I was excited to see what they have and when I arrived that excitement grew. It's brand new and you can tell that the owners care about what they are doing . Everything is laid out well with walking paths ect. They had a ton of different plants and even really good prices veggies. Only issue was that non of the staff were wearing mask at all, I know we are outside but the place was packed .

Our yard is consumed by pine trees, and as such there is a carpet of brown needles. The women who…read morework at the register were incredibly helpful in remedying my sea of brown. Having come from a different growing zone, I am very appreciative of their shared local experiences. This establishment has become my favorite source for all things flora. The quality is unmatched in Fayetteville, and the prices are competitive. For comparable plants I would be paying nearly double at larger retailers. In addition to vegetables, flowers, and herbs, we purchased our Christmas tree here in 2012. Historically we have cut down our own tree, but due to illness were unable to last year. We were thrilled with the lot's selection. The trees were healthy and had only been cut down two weeks prior--and this was the week before the holiday. We might be changing the tradition again this year.

It seems like with businesses like this, people only take the time to write a review when they've had a negative experience. So, I'd like to take a moment to give them my support by telling you all how smooth my experience was. I hope you have the same experience if you choose to use them. I needed some soil to fill some raised beds I had built. I stopped by on my way home from work to inquire about their products. I was happy to learn that they carried a topsoil/compost mix, which was exactly what I was looking for. Communication was a little tough due to the barriers in place because of Covid, however the lady taking my order was very patient with me. I was allowed to inspect the soil before ordering. I ended up placing an order for a 5 cubic yard delivery and they had afternoon availability for delivery the next day. The following day I received a call a little before lunch asking if I could accept the delivery early. I was home and did not mind receiving the soil in the cooler part of the day, so I told them to come on. They arrived about 20 minutes later. The gentleman that made the delivery allowed me to advise him where I would like the load dropped. He gave me time to spread out a tarp to protect my grass. He dropped those 5 cubic yards dead center on that tarp. I'll admit I was pretty impressed. He then made sure I got my money's worth by carefully cleaning off any soil that remained attached. I think he could have just dropped that soil in my beds had I asked...lol. He was very courteous, professional, and respectful of my property. The soil itself was of good quality in my opinion. It was relatively clean, with very few sticks and maybe a handful of rocks in the 2-3 cubic yards I used. There seems to be a nice mix of sand, compost, topsoil, and organic material. There was some pine bark, but less than you'd likely find in commercial potting soil. The pile itself is still generating some heat, which is a good sign that it has a good organic content. Only time will tell of the true quality by the veggies I hopefully produce. But, for my first interaction with HIllside I was very pleased. It'll soon be time to mulch the azaleas and I'll give them another opportunity to have my business.

Realized that there was a tiny window to talk to the office personnel. The lady I spoke with was not cordial at all. I inquired about the rock we needed, but they did not carry it, which was not a problem, it was the negative vibe I got from the lady I spoke to. I asked if she knew any other place that carried the rock and she said she did not. Again not a problem, it was her demeanor. First impressions are so important when conducting business. Needless to say, we will never go back to this business for any of our landscaping needs and will not recommend to family and/or friends.

The company they tasked stated that they attempted delivery but I slept at the front door and no one rang my ring doorbell. The delivery that he had attempted delivery in the morning which he lied because my ring doorbell would've picked it up or I would've heard the door had been open for door since 7 o'clock that morning up until 8 o'clock that late evening. Home Depot has piss poor service when it comes to delivery and no one's reached out to me at all. They dont deserve the one star I was forced to provide them with.

ATTN VETERANS especially in Fayetteville, NC: Had to deal…read morewith a new cashier Aquina I think was her name. She asked my husband if he was a veteran. He is. Provided his NCDL with the veteran endorsement, which, in order to get, you have to provide the State DMV with a DD214 to prove you served. But Home Depot doesn't, apparently, recognize veterans that don't have a VA ID. For the record she said she "would provide the discount *this time*. What difference does it make? If the State of NC recognizes a person's service to their country enough to put it on their State issued identification (which also has the on it and is supposed to be more thorough) why is the extra identification necessary. If this is Home Depot's regular policy, maybe veterans should not be shopping there. Not all veterans choose to go through the VA for anything for many reasons. None of the men in my family went through the VA because of the lack of faith in what was supposed to have been provided to them. Or because they thought other soldiers were more worthy of benefits then they were despite having, like my husband, been discharged honorably. In a military town like Fayetteville, one would think they would be better. Shop at Lowe's. They honor all veterans with ID, be it North Carolina DMV recognized endorsement, VA ID or DOD ID. If you served, you served. Side note, it is a damn shame that businesses even have to ask from proof, because people can't be honest and try to get discounts they don't qualify for. Shame on those people too.
