Charlie was patient, friendly, knowledgable and methodical in his approach helping me to begin to master some of the foundational basics, while also providing insights into music theory. He is a multi-talented musician who plays more than just guitar and his teaching style and pace worked well for me as an adult. The one thing I would do differently is to take 1-hour lessons from the start versus 30 minute session. That was a poor decision on my part. While my initial time learning with Charlie was fairly short due to some other commitments of mine that disputed our ongoing schedule, I learned a reasonable amount during the time we worked together and could go back again when time permits.

I have kids who have been Involved in all levels of music and we have had experience with all kinds of teachers. I really like how she is very meticulous about building a good strong foundation. Technique, posture, and theory are always in the forefront of the lessons. Siliana has fun, stress free recitals and makes sure the kids have a chance to play on a grand piano. She also is a member of the Music Teachers Association which means her students have an opportunity to do the Certificate of Merit Program. I also took lessons with her for awhile. I have stopped for a bit because adulting got in the way. I can't wait to start again. She is an excellent teacher for all levels and age groups.
