The best part, is that my son is starting to speak more words and sing songs when he is at home. Thank you Kathy, Yesi, and other teachers as well! The school also has a dance class that I enrolled my son in. He loves it and that makes us happy.

At the very beginning of the month my daughter was suspended for behavior even though I believe the teacher mishandled the situation. I decided to pull her from the school since it was her last month and I was told I would be refunded for the tuition I paid for May, nearly $1,200 since she only attended 2 days that month. When my follow up calls weren't actively being ignored I was told by office staff that the director Kris handled financing and would call me back. This went on for months before I gave up on being refunded. Months later I'm still upset with how they handled the situation. They discussed my personal information with my family who also had a child enrolled and even issued her a partial refund when she parted ways early, but not me. I feel disrespected by the situation and because of that I would never recommend this daycare to anyone I know personally.

Our oldest was in Mrs. Olga Nguyen's class instead of attending TK, and she was more than well prepared for kindergarten. She has such a calm, kind, and respectful way of speaking to the children--it's clear she truly understands and values them as individuals. The kids respond so well to her; they listen and engage because she speaks to them in a way that makes them feel seen and heard. She meets them at their level, both emotionally and academically. Special thanks to Ms. Maria, Ms. Sara who have also been shining stars of our experience. All of the teachers we have had for both of our kids have helped to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

Sure it's cute to see little Christmas concerts, school pictures, and a graduation, but I thought there would be more teaching involved. I'm not sure why this place is called "little scholars." To sum it up, my kid learned more in 2 weeks of ABCmouse than in over 2 years at this daycare. I'm glad I noticed he hadn't learned much and was able to work with him before kindergarten to essentially teach him what he should've been taught at this so called "pre-school."

Our daughter has been here for the past two years and the care they provide is exceptional. The teachers are warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in the kids. It's clear they create an environment where children feel safe, happy, and excited to learn. One thing we especially appreciate is the communication with parents -- they keep us informed and are always thoughtful and responsive. They also put so much effort into planning engaging activities and fun days, both in the classroom and on outings, which makes every week feel special for the kids. Knowing our daughter is in such caring and capable hands gives us so much peace of mind. We truly feel lucky to be part of this community.

There is routine, structure, and an overall embracing/welcoming atmosphere. From Center Time to field trips, I feel at ease knowing my children are in such great hands. The classrooms are spacious and orderly, the infant rooms require shoe covers for cleanliness, and there are different play areas outside that are age appropriate for the different age ranges. If kids get a booboo, parents are notified immediately. VCLC also regularly practices safety drills, such as fire & earthquake, etc, which also gives me peace of mind to know they are always prepared. The care and support the staff gives to the little ones is boundless! Communication is constant, via ClassDojo app, where teachers upload pictures of the kiddos doing different activities like crafts, garden time, or fun events such as Firefighters visiting, or Dave the Magician. Infants also get an app called Tadpoles, where they send pictures throughout the day of the babies doing baby stuff. I love this place and my kids do too!

She accused me of "lying about sleep training" because he cried on his first day sleeping at her house for a nap. Keep in mind he was about 18 months old and in a very unfamiliar place. She then became angry with me for writing my experiences online and went to my business page and gave my business a negative review. Please be very cautious when choosing childcare providers. My experience with Stephanie is that she's very vengeful and not particularly mature. I will continue to repost this every time you have it taken down. I'm not interested in reading your responses anymore, I already know what they will say.

Her home is always extremely clean, they loved the toys and activities she had, the food she feeds, and as much as I hate to admit it there were even days that they cried when I picked them up early because they were having so much fun and didn't want to leave. Her curriculum was excellent and they learned so much during their time at her childcare. I observed many other home childcare facilities in Camarillo before choosing Stephanie's, and hers was the most impressive by far. Even though my kids are now all in elementary to high school, she still is like family to us and we highly recommend her to anyone looking!!

The center is owned by Veronica Patriz, who says she has been directly involved with children for 18 years. At Patriz Childcare, "We provide quality childcare services and educational development activities," Veronica explained, adding, "We support children in self-help skills and so much more!" She is credentialed in Early Childhood Education, and is certified in CPR and First Aid. The center is also state-licensed. The children's areas in the center are amazing! In addition to a large playroom, there is a book-filled library, an art area, an area for burgeoning writers, and an area where kids can build a castle, a battleship or a hospital--all with blocks! Matt M's son attended Patriz Childcare when he was a bit younger. "We both loved it," Matt said. "My son loved it so much he wouldn't want to leave at pickup time!" Taylor W. agreed with Matt's opinion that Patriz Childcare is a very special place, owned by a very special woman. "Veronica Patriz is one of the best caregivers I have ever known or worked with," Taylor said with enthusiasm. "I am so grateful that I was able to work with her and learn so many valuable lessons to take with me in the future!" I have to admit, I envy the children who get to go to Patriz Childcare! If I ask nicely, do you think Veronica would let me attend the center for just a little while? Probably not. I can visit, though! So can you! Come join the fun at Patriz Childcare, 538 Gill Avenue, Port Hueneme. See you there! Bon Appetit!

My 2.5 year old loves going to school and runs from me when I come to pick her up. She wants to stay and that is vastly different from her last school. We are very happy with our decision, and would wholeheartedly recommend Crossroads to other families who are looking for Childcare. It was our first time putting our son in non-family childcare and so understandably we were a bit nervous, however watching him grow and come home and talking about his friends is simply amazing. Crossroads is located at the church (Methodist), and they do teach age-appropriate bible learning. My family is non-denominational, however I think it is important to expose children to different things/teaching. My son will come home and explain to me the stories that he has heard (IE Jonah and the Whale) and also the teachings that he has heard (Sharing, Being Kind..all things that EVERYONE should know and SUPPORT!). Ms. Gordon (the program Director) explained that they would be sharing the teachings, but also that the program is open to everyone regardless of belief. I honestly find it very cute to hear a 4-year olds recollection of a Bible Tale. The staff is all awesome. Ms. Gordon, Ms. Theresa, Ms. Elizabeth. Mr. Ron (the cook) is literally all my son talks about. He gets snack and lunch provided by the school and it is often things like quesadillas, sliders, fruit, vegetables, milk, cereal, granola bars. It has definitely increased the types of food my son is willing to try. Communication from the school is awesome and they take safety as a top priority. I've had a few times where my son has fallen and scraped a knee and I have always gotten an accident/incident report and he always tells me that "teacher" takes care of it and put on a bandaid or a cool pack. Every once and a while the school will have events for parents (hindered by COVID obviously) but we have had Muffins in the Morning and got to go and join our student to make crafts, I really do love these events. The school takes a lot of COVID precautions (sanitizing, hand washing, and all adults wear masks) and I appreciate that the children do not have to wear masks (I personally feel its unrealistic to expect small children to wear masks all day in the California heat). There have only been 2 COVID incidents (one student as close contact to a family member, one confirmed case) since the pandemic began, and I think that speaks volumes for how much the staff cares and takes care of the school. Also, when there was a shutdown due to a case the school was very open and realistic in reaching out to parents and coming to an agreement (individually with each affected family) regarding tuition re-imbursement/payment for that month. Also the price is very, very, very, good for the quality of care and the learning and fun that my son gets to have there. Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about Crossroads and their staff. I really do recommend them for childcare.
