I love this theater. Went to see The Sheep Detective. The room we were in was tiny, literally only about 6 rows of seating. We were in the second row, nobody in front. You can actually see the tiny holes in the screen where the sound comes out. Being over 62, I love their senior popcorn deal. Only $8 for a small popcorn and a drink. Although maybe if you have two seniors it might be cheaper to get a regular popcorn and two drinks. I didn't think to compare prices. Free parking in the garage. That is real nice. Make a date night and eat at one of the restaurants in the same complex. The pub gives a 10% discount if you show your movie ticket. read more

RIght when you walk in, you're in line for the concessions! I was pleasantly surprised with how busy this place was, it was our first time here. The lines went quickly as we ordered a kids meal and I ordered chicken nuggets,curly fries and a drink. Short wait, nice staff. We took the elevator to the next floor (there are also stairs) for our showing. The theater is clean. Wayy smaller theater than most. Actually it didn't go well at first ...we had erroneously purchased tickets for the Laemmle theater in Encino. We arrived, I bought snacks and the counter and then we went to scan our tickets and realized our mistake. I then talked with Chris, the manager and he told us that we couldn't enter a substitute movie because the tickets were purchased on Fandango. I argued with him for a few minutes and then left on a huff. I little while later, I felt that I was wrong arguing with Chris because it was our fault and he was following the set rules from his training supervisor. I came back later to apologize for how I acted only to find out that he had already emailed management for us, a few days later we were emailed two passes for the Encino theater. Despite my reaction , Chris handled this situation exactly as he was trained and was respectful to an unhappy guy. I'm a 4 decade business owner/employer and I ask that Laemmle management consider giving their managers some flexibility to make more decisions on site. The theaters on Sunday afternoon had many open seats and we could have been accommodated. It happened to be our 35th wedding an anniversary and we had planned a simple day with a movie and dinner, which was probably why I was more upset than I should have been. Laemmle Theater has a unique, low-key charm to it. There's nothing wrong with the place--it just feels a bit like a self-service experience. Staff presence is minimal, but everything still runs smoothly enough. The theaters themselves are on the smaller side, which I actually liked--it makes for a more intimate movie-watching experience. The seats, while not the comfiest (especially for a newer theater), are decent enough for a couple of hours. Overall, it's a fine spot to catch a movie. This newer theater, part of the Independent Los Angeles area chain started in 1938, by two nephews of Universal Pictures founder Carl Laemmle. Now makes for 3 movie going locations in Santa Clarita; including the 2 Regal theaters in Valencia and Canyon Country. Covid delayed our first visit here, but with the recent opening of "Air" it was time to make a long anticipated outing. 7 screens and free garage parking, in a nice little setting on the corner of Lyons and Main Streets in Newhall. This space is also home to Maginn's Irish Pub, and The Loaf Bakery and Cafe. A very intimate with no frills theater, but so friendly and cozy we will probably make the Laemmle our first choice for future movie going in Santa Clarita. "Air" was a fantastic movie by the way. read more

I found this place I Newhall, Santa Clarita in Southern California. If you visit California and are nearby. It is the best theater here in Santa Clarita. Why? Because first, it is better quality inside than Regal and AMC. I have been to both theaters and tickets can be expensive, especially during the night. However, this theater has expensive seats as well. But, it is significantly cheaper than Regal and AMC. There's a catch right? Of course! The theater is smaller and the screen is much smaller than an actual well known theater. What's great about this theater though, is that the quality is high. The seats are comfortable. I have compared these seats to other well known luxury seats at Cinepolis in thousand oaks. It is worse than Cinepolis but cheaper as well. The restrooms are located in both the upper and lower floors. There are only 7 theaters total. Pretty small, but they play all the same movies at Regal and AMC. The service? Poor, unfortunately but it doesn't matter. The concession stands have inflated prices somehow, Maybe due to COVID-19 aftermath recession. There is a parking garage nearby next to the library I did a review on years ago. Oh, I bought the small popcorn for 7$ which is extremely high and was actually embarrassed holding it because it was tiny. I'm talking soda at costco tiny with popcorn. Overall the interior of the small theater is immersive, cleaner, less people, better air conditioning and void of movie trailers. I saw a stupid movie called "bodies, bodies, bodies" just in case the theater actually sucked. But it didnt, which amazed me! Would I come back? Sure. They have a premiere card as well that will allow some special transactions for 100$. Probably good for the long term and can be refilled. My ticket was 13.50$ which is really high, but not bad for a night ticket. Usually they run 20$ + for IMAX, Dolby Atmos and ScreenX. Pictures given for reference. read more

Came here tonight with my daughter and my grandchildren. Staff was very rude and not attentive at all. Acted like we were in inconvenience to them. I come here at least twice a month and I support and buy movie tickets for my family all the time not happy with the staff. If you're not happy with your job, find something that makes you happy. Finally, I can say I have been to a Laemmle Theater. It has been on my list for awhile now. The theater opened at 1pm. So we waited for a few minutes together with the other movie goers. They do serve beer and wine. The auditorium is quiet small but it is clean, good picture quality and the sound is excellent. I recommend this theater and we would definitely come back. Love coming to watch movies here because it's not as crowded and you feel like you're in a home theater. I only gave it 4 stars because it needs some modernizing. The seats are still the usual theater seats. In this day and age of recliners or chaise lounges in the small comfy theaters, Laemmle could definitely use a ReNo. We do enjoy the full meal concessions w alcohol bar. Despite some need of aesthetic improvement, still love coming here to watch movies. read more

Theatre staff is friendly. However, movie theatre is pretty small, reminds me of the movie room in an apartment complex. The movie stopped midway through, so there was a 10 minute pause during the movie while they tried to fix it, and then when they finally restarted the movie-- it was at a point several minutes ahead from where it stopped... and therefore the audience was lost. "Missing so much context.." I heard a teenager said... "maybe when it's available to stream we can figure out what happened." This is not the type of movie experience we paid for. We even went during the day on a weekday to see the scary movie SMILE (that movie is scary as hell, btw). Anyway, this movie theater is brand new but intimate and small. There are two theater show rooms downstairs and I think five theater rooms upstairs that are larger. The parking is adjacent to the theater in a parking garage with lots of free parking. I like this place. Clean. Not too crazy busy. Intimate and new. Lots of free parking. And it's not far from the new and improved/newly renovated downtown Newhall area with all of its new shops and businesses and gastropubs and such. The area is really changing FAST. I love it. If you're gonna buy a house nearby, hurry up before prices shoot through the roof for real. Anyway...this is a nice and intimate theater. Come. Have your cozy date here. Make sure to help keep the place clean so we can continue to have nice things. read more

What a hidden gem! Never realized there were 6 theaters at this location. Easy parking in parking ramp. Walk from ramp through a courtyard to the theater. They let me pick assigned seats when I purchased tickets. It showed which seats were already taken. Very few people in the theater so plenty of seats available for us. We went to early shows and prices were great. I bought a large popcorn and a large drink. They give free refills on either or both. I though the prices were good. I enjoyed my first visit so much I went again the following day. They also sell wine and beer so you can have some adult beverages while watching the movie. Comfortable reclining backs on the seats. Growing up in Santa Clarita, downtown Newhall was old and run down, and you had to drive to Pasadena to see any arthouse movies. Now, downtown Newhall is a bustling area with lots of great shops and restaurants, and there's finally a nearby place to watch arthouse movies. Or if you wanna see the latest Hollywood blockbusters in a smaller, more laid-back setting, this is a great place to do it. I love this place! So glad the Laemmle Newhall is opened, and has a municipal parking lot adjacent to it. We use to go to Playhouse 7, but it closed. The independent films worldwide were excellent, and I hope to see more of them shown in New Hall. The theaters are small, comfortable sitting, and we so enjoy seeing films on the big screen. The app is on my phone, and I can order seats ahead of time. All very convenient. During Covid the entertainment business suffered, but will do all I can to support this theater, that is a gem in New Hall. read more

About a year ago l would have given them a 5 no doubt but our last experience left us a bit disappointed First let me say l am still grateful to have them here I prefer the intimate atmosphere and being around a mature crowd. I think the staff needs to reflect their clientele. I hate to say it but the staff, although pleasant enough just don't reflect the environment they work in and it is reflected in the theater fare served there. They have a sophisticated menu but the staff is not. Some are unknowlegeable about the beverages they serve. That's not a biggie. However when the snacks are prepared poorly that's another thing. There seems to be a lack of clear leadership or team spirit. I will of course continue to patronize them but l have noticed an overall decline and l am hoping this review will curtail further decline. read more

The place was clean, the seats recline, the theater itself is small but perfect for viewing a movie with kids (easy access in and out of middle seats) and the concessions are priced reasonably. (Beverages excluded) Parking is free off the adjacent structure and there are plenty of places to grab a drink, snack or meal within walking distance. They have a perks program where you can get free popcorn on Thursday's along with sneak previews based off a prepaid, reloadable card. read more

The restrooms were clean and well-stocked. There are two floors at this location, and they have an elevator available which was very helpful for my husband who has knee issues. A weekend movie kind of day with my sister and niece to see 'Where the crawdads sing.' We went to the showing around one, and right when we walked in it was packed with people getting their snacks and grabbing their movie tickets. We did however purchase ours ahead of time but still had to wait in the line where you purchase your tickets which didn't make much sense. Inside the theater is small, but the screen was large and we had no problems watching the movie even with people taller in front of us. Chairs don't recline but they do rock, so if you hold still you'll have a slight incline. Sound wasn't too loud, and picture was clear. Pricing was affordable as well, will be coming back here to watch some other movies I've been meaning to catch! I also like how they have independent films you can't watch in other theaters. read more
