The place was nice , comfortable and nostalgically decorated ! Very well priced. So fun to watch a movie here. They even had a senior price popcorn and drink deal!

This is a great little theater to watch indie movies. Support the little studios so the industry offers more options for different moods and tastes!

I took a star off my last review because I made the mistake of ordered a bagel do. This soggy bagel dog I assumed was microwaved Just was wet and like rubber. So stick to the popcorn. Movies are great I like the staff and the theatre. Just they need to improve on the food. I felt the same way about the grilled cheese

This newer theater, part of the Independent Los Angeles area chain started in 1938, by two nephews of Universal Pictures founder Carl Laemmle. Now makes for 3 movie going locations in Santa Clarita; including the 2 Regal theaters in Valencia and Canyon Country. Covid delayed our first visit here, but with the recent opening of "Air" it was time to make a long anticipated outing. 7 screens and free garage parking, in a nice little setting on the corner of Lyons and Main Streets in Newhall. This space is also home to Maginn's Irish Pub, and The Loaf Bakery and Cafe. A very intimate with no frills theater, but so friendly and cozy we will probably make the Laemmle our first choice for future movie going in Santa Clarita. "Air" was a fantastic movie by the way.

I found this place I Newhall, Santa Clarita in Southern California. If you visit California and are nearby. It is the best theater here in Santa Clarita. Why? Because first, it is better quality inside than Regal and AMC. I have been to both theaters and tickets can be expensive, especially during the night. However, this theater has expensive seats as well. But, it is significantly cheaper than Regal and AMC. There's a catch right? Of course! The theater is smaller and the screen is much smaller than an actual well known theater. What's great about this theater though, is that the quality is high. The seats are comfortable. I have compared these seats to other well known luxury seats at Cinepolis in thousand oaks. It is worse than Cinepolis but cheaper as well. The restrooms are located in both the upper and lower floors. There are only 7 theaters total. Pretty small, but they play all the same movies at Regal and AMC. The service? Poor, unfortunately but it doesn't matter. The concession stands have inflated prices somehow, Maybe due to COVID-19 aftermath recession. There is a parking garage nearby next to the library I did a review on years ago. Oh, I bought the small popcorn for 7$ which is extremely high and was actually embarrassed holding it because it was tiny. I'm talking soda at costco tiny with popcorn. Overall the interior of the small theater is immersive, cleaner, less people, better air conditioning and void of movie trailers. I saw a stupid movie called "bodies, bodies, bodies" just in case the theater actually sucked. But it didnt, which amazed me! Would I come back? Sure. They have a premiere card as well that will allow some special transactions for 100$. Probably good for the long term and can be refilled. My ticket was 13.50$ which is really high, but not bad for a night ticket. Usually they run 20$ + for IMAX, Dolby Atmos and ScreenX. Pictures given for reference.

Ask the Community - Laemmle Newhall

May you bring your own drinks and food into the movie theater?

Do they sell food at the theater?

They do! But nothing fancy. Think nachos

    Do they have recliner seats?

Not full on recliner. But you can lean back. Very comfy seats in my opinion

It's very clean and no matter how big or small the crowd from the prior movie they are going in and making the sweep to ensure it's ready for the next showing. It's a nice size theater not too big but not small and it does have IMAX although I don't believe this one has RPX ( Regal Premium Experience). The thing I like the most about this location is the quality seating and picture/ sound that's delivered. I've been to some locations ( and different brands) where things seem like they may not be calibrated correctly or the technology needs an update. The seats here are superior to any other theater I've been to. The recline/pitch and the plushness ( not too soft or firm). My only negative about Regal and this is a general brand issue not this particular location although I will add it for visibility. The cost/benefits of the Regal Unlimited monthly subscription need to be revisited and adjusted. As someone who currently has all 3 of the major unlimited monthly memberships in SoCal ( AMC, Cinemark & Regal) there's things ya'll are doing better and worst. 1) remove the booking fee's in the app. 2) Upgrades to premium formats are not only too expensive in my opinion but other brands don't charge at all. 3) continue to keep the total movies truly unlimited. ( not 3-4 weekly like AMC). Keep up the great work Valencia Regal!

It's located in a plaza that has plenty of restaurants and plenty of parking. The interior reminded me of the old Pacific Theaters Winnetka in Chatsworth when it was still around. Good because it brought back some nostalgic feels, but it also means that it's a pretty outdated theater. It still has old fans on the ceiling, no recliner seats, and my theater had a nice big hole in the ceiling near the screen. Picture and sound were on point though. Overall it's a decent at best theater if you don't care about all the bells and whistles of the modern movie-going experience.

The concession area would have been the main office. The school was eventually torn down, and the current theatre stands in its place. The theatre looks EXACTLY the same as it did upon its opening. This was well over thirty years ago. Some might think it's outdated. I beg to differ. It is a throw back to the nineties. We need MORE neon and bright colors. Screw the bland modern movie theatres. The employees were very sharp and helpful. The theatre lacks the recliners. Who cares, throw back city. Don't mind the standard seating. Bathrooms clean. Popcorn completely OVERPRICED, but that's the experience man! Bottom line....DONT CHANGE A THING. This theatre has charm and personality. LOVE IT

I got the feeling, from the very first notes, that this band is a well-oiled jazz/big band machine, cranking out wicked cool, edgy and clever originals - plus super inventive arrangements of well-known classics. All this while the dancers work their magic. Swing, baby! The curator/hostess Wende is remarkably energetic; personally seeing to everyone's happiness while managing technical aspects of the evening - and even managing to dance a few numbers as well. There's a serviceable bar with good pours for a fair price plus a few beers on tap. You'll find a pool table and sports on the TVs there too. Our admission price ($25) included charcuterie and desserts that was a cool added touch. Epic night!

The front porch transports you to an episode out of the Twilight Zone. A cadaverous mother rocks her dead child to sleep under an antique lamp, near a broken TV while an old clock's hands spin out of time in a wash of blue light. "I am interested in how the wild beast lives in the jungle, not in the zoo."…read more -morton feldman when i was a student at calarts one of my favorite things to do was to see as much music, dance, film, and theatre that i could fit into my schedule, in addition to attending weekly art openings. it wasn't hard to do, there was always something (and there still is) going on around the campus or at the REDCAT downtown. i graduated in 2005 and at the time it was apparent that the music school was sorely in need of a dedicated performance space. they had the roy o. disney concert hall (which is tiny) and would occasionally program concerts in the main gallery or the modular theatre, but the availability and capabilities of those spaces was very limited and i'm glad to see that they now have this incredible indoor-outdoor music pavilion. it's a wonderful addition to the calarts campus and a fantastic, versatile performance venue. named in honor of morton feldman, a pioneer avant garde composer who once wrote an essay about about the illusive and expansive nature of creative energy, the wild beast resides in the taper foundation courtyard and it's quite the force to be reckoned with. the thirty two hundred square foot structure has a long rolling wall along the front that can slide aside to transform the space into an open air amphitheatre that seats over seven hundred fifty people or, when all the hatches are closed and the wall rolled shut, it can be configured into an intimate recital hall that seats up to one hundred people in addition to serving as a music classroom/studio. designed by the culver city based architectural firm hodgetts + fung, the wild beast roared into existence in the spring of 2010 and is an acoustical instrument in and of itself. all of the odd shaped curves and walls made from glass and wood coalesce into a beautifully complicated infrastructure that produces superb acoustic clarity. i've had the opportunity to attend several shows here and they've all been wonderful. with programming that stretches the gamut from balinese gamelan performances to orchestral concerts headlined by german krautrock band faust to a long distance elton john performance (this was particularly fascinating, with a grand piano set on stage wired up to mimic a piano that elton john was playing offsite), concerts are free and open to the public. it's the perfect place to take a picnic and enjoy some great music.
