The woman at the front desk was clear with me about my paperwork, and then Mari assisted my procedures. She introduced herself, and did a great job explaining to me what was going to happen. Then another woman made sure I understood all the charges *before* we got started. I so appreciated that because I've had lots of experiences where I felt surprised and "ripped off" by other medical doctors and hospitals. She even patiently listened to me tell her about a past incident (I was in pain and having someone really listen to me was a great comfort). Getting a root canal wasn't a fun thing to do, I admit, but if I had to go through that, I'm glad I found Endo Care. They did a really great job. I called the office, they requested the CT on a CD. The office manager and referring dentist talked to them a few times. I received the CD and called back for the appt. I show up for the appt, they tell me they don't have the referral and cannot open the CD. I told them they have talked to the referring desist a few times. The dentist talks to me a a rude demeaning tone, "the referral is a piece of paper." I understand that obviously. The referral should have been sent via email. And how can I make an appt without a referral. They take x-rays and asked me what tooth it was. I told them one of the uppers with the crown. I am obviously not a dentist and don't know the tooth number. They then tell me, without the referral and without knowing what tooth, they can't help me. So I walked out. I better not be charged! If you take the x-ray, you should be able to see in infected tooth. I had the overwhelming feeling of incompetence and will not be allowing them to work on my teeth. The whole experience was unpleasant. No one likes to go to the dentist, so when you encounter unprofessional and disrespectful staff all I could think was I needed to go somewhere else.

But Dr. Shin strikes the perfect balance between holistic care and traditional dentistry. She focuses on healing and prevention rather than jumping straight to intervention. Everything is explained clearly, and I always feel like a partner in my own care. Honestly, if I had found her sooner, I might've avoided a root canal altogether. For my kids - Dr. Shin is incredibly gentle and patient, especially with my 7-year-old who has a hard time sitting still. She doesn't push fluoride treatments, but to be clear, she's not extreme... just thoughtful and truly individualized in her approach. When I started having terrible tooth pain in a recently crowned tooth, I had no choice but to find a new Endodontist. I am so lucky to have found Dr. Jensen.
