Good after Yelp community! I'm posting some of the photo proves of my story, intentionally releasing sensitive information, just to show what was done by, I'm actually having a hard time call this person a doctor, human being in the white robe with the dentist diploma. I also want to share that now Dr. Patel rejecting to accept me as a patient despite the fact she should be available for the emergency appointments and completely defensive and maybe even a little aggressive about discussing what happened. I might be wrong, but I had an impression, that in her last mail when I asked for the emergency appointment, because I'm still suffering from her "treatment" she tried to be sarcastic and even make fun out of this situation, which I think is so unprofessional and unacceptable for the doctor. Nevertheless, Dr. Patel, you asked me to avoid contacting your office unless it's emergency and I comply. Unfortunately I said nothing about Yelp, other social media, California Dental Board and Civil Court ;) You'll hear from me more and more. Stay tuned. And btw, I'm surprised that: 1. Dr. Patel is great but her office staff is terrible. They were very rude to my wife and needlessly aggressive over a collections misunderstanding (their fault). I vowed not to go back to them, but when I had a dental emergency arise, I called them in pain and desperation. They were now rude to me, and told me they didn't want my business because they thought I was coming back just for the pain, not to be a regular patient. That might or might not have been true; my decision about whether to return long term was going to be based on how they treated me this time. I sure learned the answer to that question. I'm not happy about having to find a new dentist on short notice while in pain, but I guess I was going to have to find a new one anyway. read more

Just about any dentist can get your teeth clean, do x-rays, pick at you with metal objects and suck the spit out of your mouth. The difference with Dr. Patel, for me, is her presence. She's really there for you. Quite literally. I've gone to her for years for my regular pick and clean and the occasional filling. This past Saturday as I was working into the evening, I broke a molar on an uncooperative cashew. I called her line at 4 pm on a Saturday, and she left her family and drove out Saturday evening and made sure I'd be okay until she could do a crown a few days later. To add to this, I am also in the process of closing on a house, and I cannot touch anything in my bank account or put anything big on my credit card until the deal is done. She and her staff didn't even charge me (yet)--they're waiting until my deal goes through. All in all, Dr. Patel and her staff are not simply a dental office. They're more like a family--a family of unconditional tooth love. And they've earned my love and admiration as well. read more

Dr. Patel is the best dentist I've ever had. When I moved to the Bay Area in 2005, she was the first dentist I'd seen in a while. I was hoping to find somebody I could stay with during my time out here, and I definitely did! Dr. Patel herself is a great technician. She is wonderful at ensuring you understand what's happening and that you're comfortable through the entire process. I've had some extensive work down (lots of fillings and a root canal/crown), and I've never had a single complaint. One time I did have an issue with my bite after a filling, but when I called they fit me in ASAP and fixed the problem quickly. I even had a botched filling from a few years back that she and her team were able to spot as problematic and fix before it got worse. Like the previous reviewer says, she is a perfectionist and truly cares about the health of her patient's teeth. Also, I should second the fact that she is very reasonable when it comes to pricing and are willing to work with you if you need to make multiple payments. Her staff is also a pleasure to work with and see when you go in. The women at the front desk are extremely nice, and remember everyone who walks into the office. It's a pleasure to chat with them both, and you can tell they are invested in their patients. I've also always had positive experiences with her assistance when I go in for routine cleanings. Finally, I should add that my husband goes here too (and had a lot of work done on his teeth), and is equally pleased with the quality of professionalism and work Dr. Patel's office provides. read more

Dr. Patel is the best dentist I've ever gone to. I just wish I'd have made a change sooner as I think some of my current dental problems are due to poor diagnosis from my past provider. She actually noticed a small cavity of X-rays my previous dentist sent over that he never mentioned to me. I'm also a bit fearful of the dentist but that is no longer the case in going to her office. Her and her entire staff make you feel completely comfortable - I almost look forward to going (as much as one can to a dentist). :) Highly recommend her - almost afraid to do so as I don't want her to become to popular. :) read more

Everything seemed routine on the first few visits, and I was feeling fine. Then Dr. Patel said I needed TWO interventions for something she saw. I said I'm not sure. She said an X-ray would give more information. After the X-ray showed the teeth are normal she said I still needed the interventions. She said there's no other option and "it's not a big deal." I don't want to pay for someone to drill into my teeth if it's not needed. I got a second opinion. It's not needed. (The second opinion did a much more thorough evaluation spending much more time and explaining everything to me.) I feel I cannot trust Dr. Patel on professional dental recommendations. She is nice and friendly but then recommended expensive procedures I do not need. When I expressed my doubts she just talked about more interventions she can do for other things. Front office is friendly and professional. The office is comfortable. Appointments are on time. Everyone was courteous. read more

Have been meaning to do this review for a very long time, but so glad I waited because now I have even more good things to say: First, great dental work and preventive hygiene. The word "perfectionist" has been used, but Dr. Patel also has that perfect mix of science, art (cosmetic), and intuition. Sometimes I cannot explain exactly what is bothering me with a tooth, yet she zeros in to describe and correct what I'm experiencing. Second, service. They are accommodating way beyond the extra yard. I travel quite a bit, and last month, I was halfway around the world, had no Internet, the only phone available was an old station-to-station (if you are not familiar with this, you must purchase a 500-rupees coupon [about $10], then place your call through an automated operator using two sets of secret codes, AND the call is disconnected at the 10-minute mark, plus certain phones will not connect at all, such as some cell phones); I could sometimes send and receive text. I left a voice message to make an appointment as soon as I arrived at SFO, but I could not receive any phone messages to confirm, so Sherri, one of the office managers, used her own "dime" and cell phone to text me. They set me up for my appointment as soon as I arrived back. And gave me another appointment just two weeks later as needed. Third, the hygienist are so busy because they are THAT good, so I make my appointments in advance by two; if I wait to make my appointments right after a cleaning, the calendar is full. Note: I will schedule with any of the hygienists as each is as good as the next, and I learn different things from each about dental care. I am so grateful to find Dr. Patel as my long-time dentist had just retired a little more than a year ago. read more

Every review for Dr. Patel has been spot on with my experience. Who actually gets excited to go to the dentist? People who go here, that's who! I have been going to this office since I was in my mother's belly...! And I have NEVER been afraid to go. Dr. Patel then took over the office years later and brightened the place up. From the walls to her laugh, she enhanced what the office already had with it's original staff. She is so personal, and really is a great dentist. Roxanne is my highly preferred hygienist... She is awesome! She can talk to me throughout my appointment and has mastered the balance with professionalism. It's like chatting and catching up with your favorite manicurist, and always leaving with beautiful nails! Only she does it while working on your mouth, and you always leave with the cleanest teeth! Shari at the front desk is my absolute favorite! She has truly watched me grow up! It's like coming in to visit family and friends here, and she is the key. She is always SO friendly, and helpful... always has that friendly face and smile that makes you look forward to your visit! I know I'm not the only one who brings in pictures to show her! She's so genuine and real, and always wants to know how you and your family are doing, and what you've been up to. On top of making you feel like you're visiting family, she is not only the head of the front desk, but is a dental assistant too! She knows all the ins and outs, and never has a problem explaining things to you. I cannot say enough about how awesome she is. So, if you're looking for a dentist in this area, I would definitely recommend Dr. Patel... it really cannot get better than them! read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Patel, Tara, Sherrie, Janet, and Deb. My husband and I started with Dr. Patel back in February and we couldn't be happier. She is an amazing dentist and has made my smile look beautiful! I had to replace two front crowns due to bad dental work over 15 years ago. The crowns are gorgeous. Having lived in the Bay Area for a decade after a lifetime of small-town friendliness, I had yet to meet a dentist to match "back home". I have now. The office staff and Dr Patel are wonderful. I have been a patient of Dr. Patel's for years. I was a patient at that office before Dr. Patel came, once she did I was so glad. She is very friendly and helpful. I have had many problems with my teeth and she has been very understanding and flexible with treatment. They also do everything they can to keep you comfortable during procedures. The ladies in the office literally watched me grow up. They are all so sweet and quick to explain anything you don't understand. Dr. Patel and every member of her office are simply outstanding! Dr. Patel is a perfectionist, and she will give you the BEST dental service. She does excellent work, and is very ethical--she will only advise you of dental work that actually needs to be done, and has fair prices. Trust me--I had been to many different dentists before I found Dr. Patel. Her warm personality makes you feel extremely comfortable. And, her front office team is great as well. They are competent, friendly, and good people. Every time I have a cleaning or go for an appointment, I honestly feel like I am visiting with great friends. Dr. Patel and her staff are wonderful! I had never had a consistently pleasant experience at the dentist until I met Dr. Patel. I followed her when she moved from the dental office where we first met to open her own office. She is so gentle, skilled and sensitive to my very sensitive teeth that when my two children were ready for their first dentist, I didn't hesitate to bring them to Dr. Patel. I was told that children need a pediatric dentist...but never heard a good reason why. It is more important that my kids LIKE their dentist, than that their dentist have special chairs, decor and music, etc. My daughters love going to Dr. Patel's office because of her friendly staff, the awesome blocks, and heaps of attention they get every time. It is a personal experience going to Dr. Patel. Sherry and Tara, the front and back office, are so sweet and always have time for catching up. The hygienists are consistently good and gentle. Dr. Patel is the best dentist I have ever had. I can honestly say that it is a pleasure going to the dentist! My husband goes to Dr. Patel now too.
