Was given my "good faith" quote for a Kia Rio and when I decided to make this purchase the $500 rebate credit was suddenly removed without them saying so. When I asked about it they said I didn't qualify because of my good credit score which beforehand was the reason I was getting that offer which they took away. I asked again to be reimbursed after the fact when I explained to a manager what had happened but he refused. I regret not having walked out on this transaction. $500 is not a lot of money to them but it is to me. I've purchased my vehicles from here in the past but will not return in the future because of these slimy sales tactics. I almost canceled the service appointment I had made for today because my experiencing making the appointment was not confidence-inspiring. I'm glad I kept it, thought, because it turns out the problem is not with the dealership, but with the services it gets from KIA. To explain: We bought a 2022 KIA EV6 recently and wanted to get it checked out before going on a road trip since we did not know it's service history. When I called to make an appointment for a 45,000 mile check, the agent told me what services would be done, among them an oil change. I pointed out it was an ELECTRIC vehicle, so there would be no oil change. She got flustered, put me on hold, and I had to call back after awhile. The second call was answered by someone else. I made an 8am appointment and asked if the service department would have access to service history performed at a different dealership for the first owner. She didn't know. I also asked if I could be assured that the service would be complete by 11am. She would have someone call me, because it turns out I had been talking to a national call center, not the dealership. Okaaayyyy.....again, not confidence inspiring. But this morning, at La Fontaine, service rep Samantha agreed my story was not a good one. She used Carfax to find the service history, which showed a new cabin air filter had recently been installed. Helpful! I waited less than an hour before Samantha presented me with a bill for $0 for the inspection, which found everything in good order. This is something there should have been a charge for, but the dealership made a wise move to win a new customer. Then, when I looked at my text messages I found a narrated video sent by the technician giving me information about brake condition, tire depth, etc. THAT is something I have never gotten anywhere. This review is for the service department specifically. I'll start by saying I've purchased or leased 5 vehicles from LaFountain Kia in the past, and I will not be buying my next one from them at the risk of receiving this kind of service. I brought my car in 6 months ago because I had two tires that needed repair/replacement, and I have the tire and wheel package. They told me they would have to order one tire, which should be in on Monday. They told me they'll hold onto my key, and that my tire was safe enough to drive on for another day or two while my tire was on order. I didn't hear from them in a week so I called to find out that the person on my case was no longer with the company, but they'll get things taken care of. No word after a few days, so I went in once I was out of work, and talked to Eddie Acevedo in service. He said he couldn't find the key I left with them, but would take care of it and the tire. It has now been about 5 months, and after 10 voicemails, and 4-5 visits in the service department there is still no resolution. He has told me the key is on order, the key is delayed, someone else didn't order it, and each time, Eddie Acevedo gave me a turn time of "about a week". My tire which has had a slow leak for 6 months, is putting me at risk, and Eddie Acevedo with LaFountain does not appear to care about me, my well being, or the reputation of the company that he works for. So I'm making sure that everyone is aware of my experience so maybe this sort of thing doesn't happen to them. I have been pleasant and understanding up until this point, but in full transparency, after having my low tire pressure light come on again this morning, I left a very harsh voicemail for Eddie Acevedo, including swearing and threatening legal action if my tire has a blow out due to its condition. But I'm human and this has gone on too far to be taken advantage of by an employee who doesn't value their customers or the integrity of the company he works for. To any manager reading this, I hope you notate this in Eddie Acevedo's file and you find better employees, because as of right now, I cannot buy my next vehicle from LaFontaine Kia, after purchasing/leasing 5 vehicles from you in the past. read more

Just left Kia Dearborn service area. I stopped in 2 days ago for an oil change and tire rotation but spoke with the service manager Harpreet Singh and it was decided to come back today with an appointment instead. Appt was 10 am, arrived 950. Spoke with service desk advisor Eli. Realized the tire rotation did not include alignment so canceled that. Was told there was also an "actuator" recall ( no charge) due, so I said I would have that performed as well since I was told it would "take a bit longer" if I wasn't in a hurry. By 1130 I was still sitting there without anyone informing me of any progress. I returned to the service desk and was told my car had just gotten to the other technician who would perform the vehicle recall. I complained that an oil change had taken an hour and a half. I was then asked if I wanted to cancel the recall ( not after waiting this long!). Was told the recall would take 30 minutes; returned to the waiting room. At 1245, after waiting 2 hours and 45 minutes for an oil change and recall, I was FINALLY told they were finished. During this time I had decided I was going to ask to speak with the service manager, Harpreet Singh, when the service was finished. I asked to speak with him, and Eli went to get him. Mr Singh came to Eli's desk to speak with me. I asked for privacy and he walked across to another desk nearby. I explained that I was very angry with how long this service took (2 hrs 45 mins), the cost of an oil change (99.95 plus tax, and I am retired and on a fixed income), how many people left the waiting room while I waited ( SIX!), and the lack of communication while waiting. Mr Singh did absolutely nothing to calm my anger other than saying "I'm sorry" but that their wait time for an oil change is 1 hr and 10 mins, and the recall time is one hour. I again complained that I had waited 2 hrs and 45 mins; he suggested " next time" I should ask how long and allow more time. This whole experience was not acceptable!! Though I live about a mile and a half from this service department I won't be returning here and will drive to a different Kia dealership for any services!! Mr Singh, as service manager, needs to learn how to diffuse an irate customer and accept responsibility for his department! NOTE: Afterward, I went to the parts department and Gavin kindly assisted me with placing a new battery in my key fob ($5) even though I was fuming over the prior experience at service. Do not go to this service department at Kia Dearborn unless you have many hours to wait and money to burn!! read more

I just purchased a KIA Niro. LOVE IT!!!!! My salesman, Thomas Lee, was AWSOME!! I liked the fact that he sent me a video invitation to come in and take a look around. I sent him a text back letting him know I wasn't the ideal person when it came to credit and he let me know he was more than willing to sit down with me and see what we could do. Thomas asked what I was looking for and I was open, since I was just looking and didn't think he would be able to do anything for me. Well Houdini Thomas, got me in car that was wayyyyyyy above and beyond what I could have ever thought he would be able to do. I was in what I feel is the most perfect car for me within an hour. I bought a 2022 Kia Seltos, it has less than 4000 miles on it. I hit a pot hole and blew my front passenger tire in the evening of Tuesday the 2'nd of March. I called the dealership at 9:06 am and was transferred multiple times. I was put on hold multiple times only to end in hang ups. I again called and talked to an operator who put me thru the service area director or manager. He called me at 3:23 and said let me find out what we can do, give me an hour. He never called back. This is now the following day noon and still no call, no give me time, no I'm working on it, nothing. I'm so completely disappointed and won't ever take my new car to that dealer. I was able to get a tire in 2 hours at a Lincoln Dealer in Southgate mi. " 2HOURS!" The most horrific dealership I've ever seen. If you need an oil change do your self a favor and call the dealership and see if you NEED to use their service department for your lease vehicle oil change, $89 seems a tad expensive for just a oil change on a vehicle that has a price tag of $21,000 brand new. I have less than 12,000 miles on it and they wanted me to do a package price of $154 ( this was the $89 oil change plus I'm guessing a $70 tire rotation (on a vehicle with less than 12000 miles on it). Do yourself and your pocket book a favor and call before you come here, the "Family Dealer" certainly doesn't live up to treating a person like family, unless of course they truly hate you.. I'd give this dealership less than 1 star but you can't. Also they say they have given your vehicle an inspection, but they will NEVER tell you the results, pretty that is just another Lie they enjoy using. Big test this time to see if they actually fill my tires with air or if I'll have to do that myself again, the last time they didn't do that, apparently no one in the service department knows how to fill tires with air. The engine threw a rod and even though Kia has a recall (My letter is dated October 30th, 2020); because the engine developed this problem prior to the recall being performed, Lafontaine and Kia have declined to honor the extended warranty on this car. Sleazy tactics.. Attempting to purchase a NEW Seltos and trade in my 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. Upon evaluation/appraisal by Lafontaine used car dept, was told they would give me $13,000 for a car that KBB said ranged from $15,967 to $17,882 trade in value of $16,925 and KBB gave an instant offer of $15,120 'sight unseen'. When I asked why so low? Was shown pics on salespersons cellphone of an apparent 'key scratch' down the entire passenger side. I went outside to inspect it myself, and was able to remove the 'scratch' with my fingernail and found it to be a gummy substance. I said this wasn't here when I came in to the dealership! After confronting the appraiser, he stated that he would up the appraisal from $13,000 to $15,120. I've only heard of tactics like this, but have now experienced it at LAFONTAINE KIA OF DEARBORN. Stay away folks!!! (This all transpired AFTER my salesperson 'Monique' told me "Lafontaine will give you 10% over whatever your cars been valued at by others" ... well, that's a lie. They offered me about $5,000 LESS than KBB's top range, $2,120 LESS than KBB's cash offer - sight unseen price, and $6,670 LESS than what 10% over my best offer would be. I purchased a Kia from la fountain about 3 years ago and to be honest was perfectly happy with it as well as the service I got so when I decided it was time to trade it in for a new vehicle I re visited lafountain planning on purchasing a used Vehicle cause I just didn't think I needed a new one anymore. After speaking to the salesman 1st name Chris and explaining what I wanted he lined up a 2017 rogue for me of course while shopping I'm not only looking at that vehicle but comparing to other vehicles as well , lets face it , its not like im dropping 200 but more like 20k here so of course i want the best deal for me. so when I visited there to test drive the vehicle everything was lined up I was pretty much set to buy it and they got me approved a 9% so I asked them To hold the vehicle for a couple hours in the morning so I could go to my credit Union and get a better rate you think I would have asked them to wear their underpants on the outside of their pants Because that just wasn't going to happen OK as if that wasn't enough to dissuade me I decided to have them to go ahead and start writing the deal up and reluctantly agreed to sign the deal and go to the credit Union in the morning. At that point i had all kinds of flags going ip, but decided to ignore them., while they were in the process of doing that I received a phone call from another dealership who had lined up in equinox for me to test drive and fit all of my criteria as well as my payment structure. So I politely informed the sales person that I like to push the pause button on that deal long enough for me to go and test drive the other vehicle and I would call him back within the hour and give him a decision Believe it or not the salesman actually told me that if I didn't sign the deal at that very instance they would refused to sell me vehicle the following morning. I of course pretty much told them to shove the vehicle at that point. I related this story to several other individuals they just like me were stunned that a salesman would be so rude and would stoop to such tactics. This dealership is one of the worst places in Michigan to purchase a vehicle. They overcharge people and they don't stand behind their products... You absolutely better hope you don't have to use their service department either. Not only do they do bad work, but they will also overcharge you for your repairs. The bottom line is unless you wanna pay $600/month for a Kia Rio, or you like being lied to by Dan Drenikowski the service manager regarding bogus repairs, then stay clear away from this place. I would also like to add that when you purchase a vehicle at Lafontaine Kia, you may, or may not, get a dependable vehicle, but one thing for sure is you will be overcharged, and you will regret it. Not to mention if you ever decided to trade the vehicle in, you will be forced to buy another bad overcharged Kia. Other information you should know is no America made dealership in Michigan wants to except a Kia on a trade in. Not Ford, Chrysler, nor GMC, wants a Kia trade in. Also forget about purchasing extra warranties because they most likely won't honor it, they will have someone change the narrative and do and say whatever they need to say to take more of your hard earned money! Feb 2016 leased auto 2016 for months received calls from Lafontaine concerning oil change mind you to date 10/18/2017 not even 6,000 miles nevertheless 08/2016 Lafontaine changed oil after stating even thought I had virtually not many miles the months did count now I know that was straight BULL ow and yes I did pay for the not needed oil change. Must say we pay for what we don't know in this life and maybe in the next depending on views about returning if we don't get this right the first time. I've maxed out 3 credit cards waiting for them to do a repair and they still haven't started almost a month later! We purchased three Kias from Lafontaine about 8 years ago but, due to the distance from our home, got our next Kias from a closer dealer. We have been looking to get out of our current Sorento lease a few months early and our current Kia dealer told us we were not close on the price. So, I called the salesperson, Miles Brown, who we had a great experience with years ago, and told him I had a "Mission Impossible" for him to get us in to a new Sorento. After about 30 minutes, he called me back and asked what time we could come in tomorrow to pick up the vehicle. Yes, he accomplished the "mission"! Miles was able to get is a great deal and, walked me through the process of what I needed to fo to get it turned around quickly and efficiently. Dealership looks a lot different than I remembered it...recently remodeled and more welcoming. Miles always took great care of us and today was no different. Everything was smooth, he walked us through the changes on the 2019 Sorento (turned in a 2017 Sorento) and off we went driving away in our new vehicle. This is our 6th Kia/Hyundai so obviously we think they make great vehicles and I highly recommend Miles Brown at Lafontaine if you are looking for a new Kia and want someone who will give you great service and advice on a vehicle. read more

I was already in a 2013 and owed more then the car was worth. I am sooooo ANGRY! If I could give a 0 I would! I WILL NOT GO TO ANY LAFONTINE DEALER AGAIN!! I took my car to LaFontaine Kia in Dearborn on December 23 for some repairs. I needed new headlights, a back-up camera, car shakes upon acceleration, and the dome light randomly comes on and needs to stop. I told them they had 2 weeks, that I was a teacher and I was on Christmas break. I called them a week later and had to leave a message. I finally talked to Mariah and she told me they haven't even diagnosed it yet. At this point they had it for 11 days! She called me the next day and told me they had to order parts and I could come get my car and use it until the parts arrived. I picked up my car on that Monday. Mariah called on Tuesday (the next day) and said my parts were in. I returned my car Tuesday and was told it would be repaired in one day. I called 2 times on Wednesday to see if the car was done. I got her voice mail each time. I called 3 times on that Thursday and got voice mail again. I have left messages every time I call. Not once have I been called for a status update! I even called and asked for the service manager Sean. I was transferred and got voice mail!! Well... I let this guy have it! I then decided to go to the dealer to check it out. No one was working the counter. In fact, the lights were off! The mechanic didn't know anything. My car was not in the garage. I found it in the lot- repairs not done! I know this because I need new headlights and the old ones were still on the car! I called again on Friday, left yet another message and told Mariah that I was picking up the car on Monday regardless if it was done or not. On Monday, at 8:01 in the morning, I get a call from Mariah. She tells me my repairs have been completed and I can come get my car. She then also explains that the mechanics were suppose to call me to let me know repairs were completed on Saturday. As far as I was concerned, that didn't matter. She was my contact person there and she called me only the one time to update me! HORRIBLE customer service. Then, when I did get my car, she asked if I would complete a survey. If I answered the survey in a certain way, my next oil change was on her. Well... guess what... I am not going to lie and tell a false story just to save myself some money. Sorry, not sorry!!! I have now had my car for almost a month... My car still shakes when I step on the gas and the dome light has come on twice while I was driving. Never again and will never recommend LaFontaine Kia Dearborn for anything. read more
