They were talking in their native language which is RUDE b/c I don't speak your language AND we're the ones paying you $65. The seller was trying to rush the guy, and one thing about me, I'm in NO rush when buying a car. Anyway, my hubby spotted oil dripping when they hoisted the car. The mechanic was like that's nothing. My hubby said to bring the car down so he could look on top, and the head gasket had all everywhere. The seller was like, it's not the head gasket. Needless to day we didn't buy the car, and will not be back here because just nod your job and don't try to make something in favor of your people and screw someone over. I've been coming here for a while, and initially they were reasonable and willing to work with me on pricing. Lately, that's clearly changed. They now insist on controlling all parts and markups, even when the parts in question are already under warranty. That tells me the priority has shifted to protecting margins, not helping customers save money. I'm not opposed to paying for diagnostics or labor, but I won't be forced to rebuy parts I already own and can warranty. Because of that, I'll be taking my business elsewhere -- handling small jobs myself and using a different shop for larger repairs, even though this location is convenient. Unfortunately, this seems to be a growing trend in Dearborn: inflated pricing on basic services and unnecessary upsells. This shop is no longer an exception. read more

On February 24, 2026 I called Auto-Tech clinic and got a price of $287 on replacing the clutch master cylinder on a 1994 Ford Ranger. I had the vehicle towed to Auto-Tech clinic the next day February 25, 2026. 02/25 Auto-tech called to inform me that the vehicle needs a new clutch without even hoisting the vehicle or cracking a bolt much less dropping the transmission and having a look at the clutch or done any other diagnostics. When I informed them that the clutch, slave cylinder and hydraulic line were replaced within 10k. And how could you come up with that diagnosis without even putting the vehicle on the hoist and dropping the transmission? Responce: "We recommended replacing the clutch if you're going to drop the transmission". I'm sure Auto- tech Clinic does. Auto-Tech Clinic was looking to turn a few hundred dollar job into a few thousand dollar job regardless of whether the clutch with only 10k needed to be replaced rather than replacing the actual defective parts. After attempting to pad the bill by replacing functioning parts and performing work that didn't need to be done failed, auto tech, then began complaining about the quote they gave me to replace the clutch master cylinder saying that "no one gave you that price". When the EMPLOYEE that gave me the price showed up to work and asked for additional money, I agreed to a 40% increase. Auto Tech Clinic was to now begin the work of replacing the master clutch cylinder. Next came the call, saying we have a problem. The hydraulic line is leaking and is what caused the problem and needs to be replaced. "The cheapest we can find it auto tech clinic says is $371. If you can get the part to us in the next 10 minutes, you can bring us the part otherwise what do you want us to do." First off if they had looked at the vehicle enough to make a determination that it needed a new clutch a master cylinder and a slave cylinder yesterday how did they overlook the hydraulic line ? I'll tell you how, Auto Tech Clinic spent their time building a customer bill, not diagnosing a problem. I told him I feel as if Auto tech clinic has been trying to steal from me by replacing parts and performing work that's not needed and now trying to gouge me on the hydraulic hose line. I told him they can f off and I had my vehicle towed to another location. It has been my experience that Auto Tech Clinic cannot be trusted to give a honest diagnosis of the problem nor provide a fair price. Beware! read more

Horrible Experience!! Stay Away!! I was scammed out of $7,693 by this auto shop, and their negligence and dishonesty ultimately led to the complete failure of my engine. As a U.S. Marine veteran who served this country with pride, I trusted them to do the right thing--and they completely betrayed that trust. Hass (the owner), Moe, and their Staff failed to properly diagnose or fix my vehicle. Instead, they lied, manipulated, and took advantage of me. Their actions have left me in serious financial distress. To make things even worse, I lost my grandmother during this difficult time and now have no reliable transportation to get to work and provide for my family. They gave me a false diagnosis and I believe they sabotaged my car to force repeat visits and additional charges. When I couldn't afford the inflated repair costs, they pushed high-interest financing options instead. My car was towed twice and the engine completely locked up the day before Easter--a heartbreaking and devastating experience for me and my family DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!!!!! I wish more people would post reviews of their bad experiences at this shop since they rip off and scam a lot of people. My husband took our car there, was given a quote for a price that was below $200 and was told what the problem is. They spent hours "fixing" it when they weren't even actually fixing the problem- this whole time they were WASTING his time and they were plotting how to squeeze more money out of us. Apparently the part that was needed AND that they ordered wasn't even the problem (so if they're that good at their jobs how come they messed up that the part and fault were both wrong?). Apparently the work isn't going to cost under $200 anymore. Over $800 just like that! That's not how it's going to work with us. I had broken my driver's side mirror I went to Auto tech to get an estimate on how much it would cost to repair, I had asked the receptionist if I got the part that I needed would they be able to put it on? She said yes and I asked how much what labor be? She told me $125 an hour. She told me to be sure to get the silver outside of the mirror, but I did not need that part I just needed the mirror which is heated and automated, so I went home looked up on Amazon got the part that I needed for $10 it was sent to me the next day and my son put it on in 5 minutes! I am Glad that I went my way instead of paying $125 which is ridiculous for a 5-minute job! read more

I'm a handicapped senior and my 2018 Ford Flex wouldn't start so I got my neighbor to help me and when he couldn't get it started he told me to have it towed to Auto Tech Clinic and I'm so glad he did. My car got towed. I called and explained that I'm handicapped and if my car breaks down and I'm stranded, that is very bad for me because I'm on a wheeled walker. MO had my entire car looked over and found I needed rear brakes & rotors, and a new battery. All that was completed in 1 day. We did everything over the phone, even the payment. Mmmm? They repaired my front brakes and gave a lifetime warranty. I told them when I arrived that I could come back so I could make sure they would not be rushed. I was told that they can get the job done by the time I needed. I am giving 5 stars because the job was completed and work seems to be quality thus far. I am giving them a 1 star in communication because I came back 2 weeks later to get the back breaks looked at because I hear a scraping sound. I do have a question for them. Did you check the back brakes? If not why? Wouldn't that effect the front brakes and how long they last which would effect the warranty??. I'm just uncertain now if they are just rushing to get job done or??? They do the decent job only when you are knowledgeable enough about a car. You are not suggested to visit before you are confident about the problem. Otherwise, they would replace parts that work well to enlarge their profits. That was my experience. And thanks to them, I have gained a lot of knowledge and been able to make my own judgement since my last visit. Generally, some technicians there are good enough to diagnose and solve your problem. You need to prepare to pay a lot more than it is deserved. Of course you can query multiple technicians at different clinic shops and summarise their opinions if you have time. read more

just wanted to take time to thank GOD this morning. My car has been in need of repairs for some time now; but, I knew it was going to be expensive so I put it off. Well on top of that my heat went out again this year. Had trouble with it last year and knew it was time to take it in for repairs. Firstly, I'd like to start out by saying I originally came to this auto repair shop for a minor repair. My check engine light had come on, and I took it up to AutoZone and the code read something about PVC or PCV valve. I took it up to auto tech clinic where the diagnosis was confirmed by, Nate. After that costly minor repair my check engine light had come back on shortly after getting my repairs. I went back maybe a couple of weeks later to notify AutoTech that my check engine light is back on and the codes are coming back the same. After waiting... and waiting... and waiting, Nate finally tells me that it was the hose and not the valve cover that he originally replaced at $200 just a couple of weeks, prior resulting in the hose being replaced for "free." Ok "free". Second part, Now that, Nate knows that it was the hose he had to order the hose. I believe I arrived at AutoTech roughly around 9AM. He didn't have that hose on my car until 4PM. Of course I'm getting frustrated so I asked, Nate what's going on. He proceeds to tell me that he is waiting for the dealer to drop it off, because it's a dealer part. So I reached out to the Chevy parts dealer and found out maybe around noon that Chevy had ordered the part and they were waiting to get it so that they can send it to AutoTech. Nate, literally told me "it'll be here in 15 minutes" after I found out Chevy still had not received the part that my car needed. 15 minutes pass then 45 minutes. Now I'm frustrated.... again!!! While I'm going through the motions with, Nate, other mechanics involve themselves in the situation for the worse. None of the guys offered a solution. Just deflected and fast talked and double talked. At some point I began to get upset because here I am waiting hours for a hose to be replaced that you're telling me that's on its way and by Chevy's own admission it wasn't. Continuing the conversation outside with, Nate he continued to try to get me to believe his lies. I do not mind waiting. We are at a repair shop. Some repairs take all day. Just be upfront and tell me what's going on. The fact I feel that this place is hiding something with me does not sit well. The only reason I continue to come back is because of that first repair not being done correctly and having to have AutoTech correct it and wanting to give them a chance cause they're in the neighborhood. But no more chances. I have had it with the double talk, over talk, fast talking shysters. Last, but not least I had my p0420(catalytic converter) code come on and I took it to autozone where AutoTech confirmed the code reading. Again I arrived roughly around 9AM. Nate, confirmed the code around maybe 10AM. Nate, then proceeded to tell me that his warehouse is closed, but he might have a catalytic converter in stock, which I found odd. An hour or so goes by and Nate, proceeds to tell me that he don't have it in stock but I can leave a deposit for the repair cause he don't wanna be stuck with a part. Then after chewing him out about having me wait all this time and reminding him of last time now all of a sudden he knows where to get one? If that was the case why not have it ordered and on it's way once you confirmed the code? There's a whole lot more to say quite honestly. I'm just gonna reach out to the Michigan SOS and report this place. They're business practices are shameful to say the least. There really is more to say. Nate, raises his voice at me when he got irritated. His brother rolled up on me extra tough like "oh well, it is what it is" type of posture and tone. Just too much! Side note*** I have a 2011 Cruze and these cars commonly have these problems. read more

I brought my car in for an alignment recently and can't recommend this shop. Although I was given a print-out showing the specs after it was done, the car still pulled to one side and the steering wheel was off center. After calling to see if someone could look at it, I was told to come in again - which I did. I waited for 2 hours for them to find time for it, only to have the tech come get me from the waiting room and claim everything was right on the machine. When I mentioned that it still drifted pretty significantly, his reply was to "just keep your hands on the wheel," claiming he didn't notice anything on his test drive. Thankfully I found another shop that agreed it wasn't right, was able to align the car correctly and resolve the issue. read more

I have been coming to this location over 10 years. They have good customer service and try to work with you on price if you let them know your budget. When possible, I would recommend shopping around if you know the problem, because even though their prices are good, I have found some repairs cheaper at nearby establishments. All in all, this is a good shop with pretty honest practices. The front staff can be a bit abrupt on busy days, but it is understandable when the shop is jammed packed. If you are short on time, I highly recommend arriving early, before they open, as there is usually a crowd waiting at the door, especially on Saturdays. read more

Our car crashed into the ground on the street, minutes after driving out of auto tech clinic for a simple routine maintenance. It turned out that a wheel just flew out because mechanic at auto tech clinic forgot to put nuts on the wheel. Police showed up promptly and police report generated. We had to negotiate with Hass, the boss, outside of their office in cold wind when there were other customers inside. Hass initially promised to fix everything, but eventually reneged on that promise after learning that it will cost him too much with original parts. Honest... Affordable and Quality work. I brought my car in for an oil change and thought I had a problem with my breaks. It turns out that my breaks were okay a little warped. Charged me $20 for my oil change and thats all. An honest shop that does quality work and will show you the problem before they fix it. I have saved $100's of dollars on replacing struts at Auto Tech Clinic. They treat my $20,000 car like the $100,000 Customer Mercedes that was dropped off. I go no where else. read more

Outstanding and honest customer service and very reasonable rates. While visiting my parents I had a problem with one of my doors (wouldn't close). Other mechanics suggested I take it to a body shop or a dealer but Hassan and his team took care of it right away. I was able to continue my trip home and not miss work and my kids didn't have to miss any school. They could've taken advantage of my semi emergency but did not and I commend them for that. Don't waste your time. I went to have my oil changed and THOUGHT everything went well. Days later, my car started smoking and my gas mileage was horrible! Checked my oil level and it was overfilled by a lot!. I called them and was instantly met with a attitude. I went back up there to then be told I'm "over thinking it". They wouldn't listen to me when I insisted the car has to sit 15 minutes to allow all the oil to drain back into the pan before checking (as the manual stated). They argued with me for a solid 15 minutes before they saw it WAS overfilled.. They drained some and NOW it's how it's suppose to be. SAVE YOUR MONEY! If they can't do simple maintenance , I definitely wouldn't trust them doing anything else! read more

DO NOT GO HERE TO GET AN ALIGNMENT!!! They do not know how to do a proper alignment and will use the wrong vehicle specs on your vehicle. If you are average joe/jane off the street and do not know what you are looking at you will get separated from your hard earned money for an alignment that is one pothole hit away from being back out of alignment. They will put your vehicle up on the rack and if everything is in the green they will not put a wrench to it to bring it into center of the spec but they will charge you for doing absolutely nothing. I brought in a vehicle that required them to do actual work on it and much to their disgust I knew what I was looking at. I told them exactly what type of vehicle it was, what they would need to do to align it and what I will be looking for on the printout when I come to get it. When I went to pick it up I immediately noticed they had the wrong vehicle on the sheet meaning they aligned it with the wrong specs. I told them of this and they proceeded to tell me the specs are the same. I told them no they are not, my car is not rear wheel drive and they need to do the alignment with the correct vehicle specs. They told me I would have to bring it back the next day. I had paid for the alignment already so I brought it back the next day and left it there to get done. When I picked it up the correct vehicle was on the specs and all was good. I was then told that they will not do anymore alignments for me from then on out because it was to difficult to do the alignment. I replied to that with "that's funny because I already decided yesterday that i would never bring a vehicle in to here again". I then offered them a free class to their "techs" on how to operate their alignment system and how to do a proper alignment. That didn't sit well with them. In close, If difficult means doing it correctly and not just turning a tierod to bring the toe a bump into the green then yes it is difficult. Moral of the story is don't take your vehicle to any alignment shop without any knowledge of what you are looking at when they hand you your paperwork. Also never ever pay before you looked at your alignment paperwork and verify it was done correctly. Your vehicle specs are at the top of the paperwork and if it doesn't match your type vehicle then the alignment is wrong. read more

I have had several services performed at Autotech, and the incident that caused me to question their honesty and business ethics occurred when I had to try my ignition several times before it would start, and took my car there to be diagnosed. I was told after a few days that they could not identify what was wrong (but that it was not the ignition), and that they would return it to me so that I could have it over the weekend, advising me to bring it back the following week so that they could look into the problem further. Before I was able to bring the car back in, I had to have it towed there because the problem had escalated to the point that I couldn't start the car at all. I called Fred prior to taking the vehicle to the shop, told him what was going on, and asked if it sounded like something that they could address at Autotech, or if I should take it to the dealership. He advised me that they would take a look at it, so I had it towed there, and was later told that it was a faulty alternator and charged $400. Upon picking the vehicle up, I was told that if the problem continued, there may also be a problem with my mass airflow sensor, and I was advised that I should fill the car up with premium gas, put fuel injection cleaner in it, "and see if that fixes the problem". I was told to bring the car back if that suggestion didn't fix it, which would mean that they would have to reprogram the key. None of this made any sense to me, and led me to wonder whether or not the alternator was in fact the problem given that it had been fixed and I was having the same issue with my car, but because I trusted them I thought that I'd give it a try, believing that if it didn't work I could bring it back there to get the key fixed and then be done with the whole thing. When the car continued to have problems after following Autotech's instructions, I took it back up there, supposedly so that they could reprogram the keys. They kept my vehicle for over 2 weeks before telling me that after many unsuccessful attempts to fix the problem on their own, they would have to order the software to reprogram the key from Audi. After they allegedly received this software and reprogrammed the keys, I was advised that the problem was fixed temporarily, but that I would need to take the keys back to Audi to get a new pair within the week to prevent the problem from happening again. Upon taking my car to Audi and having a full diagnostic performed, I was advised that they don't license out their software to any outside vendors, and that the source of my problem had nothing to do with an alternator or keys, but instead was related to the ignition itself (as I had originally suspected). The repair was estimated to be $465 dollars. When I called Fred and made him aware of what Audi said, he didn't even want to discuss the key reprogramming and alleged "Audi software", and still claimed that his diagnosis of a faulty alternator was correct, even upon hearing that the fact was disputed by the dealership. He continued to debate me, claiming that he stood behind his assessment, even though I had the same problem after he changed the alternator. I told him that I wasn't asking for a full refund of the work, as I realized that I had been enriched by Autotech installing a new alternator, but the fact was that the alternator was not the source of my problem and I would still have to pay the dealership $465 to fix what he was supposed to have remedied originally. He refused to offer me any money back, or any other concession for that matter, which was very surprising and upsetting given the situation and the amount of business that I had conducted with his shop over the past several months prior to this incident. I sought mediation in hopes of resolving this issue outside of court, which resulted in Fred agreeing to settle with me, but then failing to contact me or the mediator in order to do so. I planned to continue with court proceedings just based on principal, but decided against it since it would cost me $75 to file a suit against him for a $200 claim (half of what he charged me for the alternator). So I have instead opted to share my Autotech experience with everyone, so that other people (particularly women), who may not be as knowledgeable about cars and auto repairs will not be taken advantage of as I was. Since this incident, I have come to question whether or not I needed many of the several repairs that they urged me to get, as they have proven themselves to be dishonest and unethical, and overall unwilling to admit to their mistakes nor are they willing to attempt to correct them. I will never go here again, and urge all who read this to take your business elsewhere also. Don't become another one of their victims. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! First, my husband took his 2010 Fusion (which he bought from the dealership a few months ago) in for an alignment. The shop did the job, no issues, better alignment and steering when he picked up the car. We dropped off my 2006 Malibu yesterday for an alignment because we had replaced a number of suspension parts and wanted to be sure nothing was moved out of place in the process. This morning, my husband got a call telling him that "We can't do an alignment because you need new lower control arms." Maybe they thought due to the number of miles on the vehicle, we would just take their word for it and pay them to replace the parts. However, since my husband (automotive engineer) replaced these parts himself less than a year ago, we KNOW we don't need these parts. You are taking your chances when you use this shop. You might have a fine experience with no problems, or you might have someone try to sell you parts you don't need in order to boost the profit margin of the shop. If you do have this shop do any work, be sure to ask for the old parts from your vehicle back. If they can't deliver them to you, you can be sure they didn't do the work you were promised. You should actually do this for any shop you do business with, just to keep everyone honest. read more
