Had a fun time here for my daughter's birthday. We went at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy but we got a lane right away. We had five kids bowling so we only got one lane. There were high-backed couches (booths?) so it was pretty private since no one was in the lane next to us. They can put the bumpers up or down for each player, which makes it more fun for all. We got some snacks for the kids (standard bowling alley food) that they enjoyed and came out quickly. I think the prices were pretty reasonable overall compared to other places in Eugene. They can get very busy so it can be hit or miss, especially on a weekend evening. I think I'll have to bring the little kids again soon since they had so much fun. read more

Clean, decent food, helpful staff. One guy even came over and gave a kid pointers while it was slow. He's friendly and clearly knows a lot of the regulars. And yet... once it got busy, some random entitled customers came in and started bickering with and complaining about the same guy and holding up the whole line behind them. Idk, maybe he just matches the energy he gets. Like a human being. I've never had issues with anyone there, but I'm not a d*ck. Customer service workers still deserve respect. I've always loved the fact that this bowling alley has ramps for the sight challenged, as I'm terrible at aiming the ball dead center without one. The prices are pretty reasonable as well. A hotdog and French fries with two games and shoe rental usually costs me about $10.00, not bad at all! Last time I was here was with my provider, Kendra, and she and I had fun bowling. She even took a video of me when I got a strike. I've always gotten high scores at this bowling alley, and I'm amazed that they accomodate people of all walks of life. The prices are fair, there are many lanes and they're top notch, and a shoe attendant handed me a pair of shoes that fit, which has never happened to me anywhere before! (I recommend going one size down for ladies)It's not the cleanest establishment but it's on the high end of bowling alleys and the balls are plentiful if well used. It's noisy, the general clientele are laid back and fun. They have pop up bumpers and the ramp for little kids, an itty bitty mini arcade for bored youth, it's very family friendly on a Sunday afternoon at least. We had a blast here this Saturday with our group of friends. We got there around 5 (I think)--it was packed and there ended up being about a 30 minute wait for a lane. There's a seating area by the food counter so we ordered some beers and hunkered down (I'm not sure if the wait even ended up being the 30 minutes because it felt like they called us in no time). You do pay up front for however many games you want (and can then add on more games later if you would like)--I've been to some bowling alleys where you pay by the hour or you pay per game once you've finished playing, but that is not the case here (which is fine, doesn't matter to me either way). We were placed at the very last alley off in the corner which was fantastic since, as mentioned, it was packed and this gave the 6 of us some privacy. Music comes from a jukebox so people were definitely having fun with that! Overall, my only complaint was that there was only 1 person at the food/drink counter (both times I went up there) which made for some long wait times. On a Saturday evening when there are no open lanes, I feel like there should be at least 2 people back there to help each other out. read more

We went today to use our onepass at around 2-3pm window. It was not busy and there were a handful of open lanes at all times. The staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming. Extremely disgruntled at the check in area. I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this. It made everyone in our party quite uncomfortable (2 adults and 5 kids). I'll give Emerald Lanes three stars for these reasons: 1. Price - cheap bowling and affordable food/drinks. 2. No strings on the pins - it's real bowling. They only get three stars for the same reason others have complained - the customer service. Depending on the day/time you go and who you deal with, it is very hit or miss as to how you are treated. I have a major complaint! Friday mornings when my daughter bowls with the Special Needs group, there is a girl named Amanda who insists on bringing her two dogs in. Not only does she bring them bowling but she takes both her dogs down on the lanes with her. There are several of the people, including my daughter, that has issues with walking. This presents a possible lawsuit for you if someone trips over these dogs when it is their turn to bowl. The other issue is that the dogs are shedding and this causes my daughter to get dog hair on her bowling shoes. When I used to bowl it was sacred to have a clean bowling alley to protect our shoes from getting dirty. Amanda has a very bad attitude and may quit if she is confronted about this, but knowing her like I do, she is abusing the service animal theory because she is being allowed to do this and she doesn't think there is anyone else in the world but her, Please put a stop to this before someone gets hurt. A bowling alley is no place for animals. If she can't bowl alone, she needs to quit. Thank you! read more

Very RUDE worker. I went in there with a group of people that have IDD. We were waiting for the last person to show up. I went up to start getting their shoes and 3 different times he denied me of doing that saying all was not there. He was so RUDE about it. I was going to complain about him when the owner came in, but he is just as rude. So I did not say anything. Then I had a finger nail that had broke so was trimming that and worker came up pushing in between me say I don't want you doing that in here and with a broom he was sweeping I had to move. Really I explained that I would pick up. Just so rude. I will go somewhere else from now one. If they can't start smiling and treating people with respect they will lose business. So for a party of 6 they put us on one lane, which seats 4 comfortably max. Then the lane broke. They said they'd let us know when it was fixed. We waited over 20 min before I went back up and asked, they said "oh it's been fixed." I also ordered a hot dog which they served to me BLACK. I gave it to the manager who happened to be nearby and I asked if I could have one that wasn't burnt. He said "sure" and walked away like it was a huge inconvenience when he had literally just been standing here. Here was the second hot dog... at least this one isn't burnt?? And their honey mustard tastes like straight vinegar. Avoid this place, go elsewhere. read more

I am leaving a one star because my church youth group went to emerald this last Sunday. The bowling was fun, and all the kids had a great time. However, every child and adult that ate the chicken got sick . We all got food poisoning I mean, throwing up, diarrhea, severe stomach cramps. Any other person that was in the group did not get sick, except for the people that ate the chicken. Lane county health has been notified. I always raved about the chicken salad, but now I can't even stand to think of it my son, and I have never been so sick. And I feel terrible about the other youth in our group. read more

I am actually appalled by the way we were treated tonight. First off it was my son's 9th birthday and I decided to have it here. Upon calling I was under the impression there were 16" pizza's (your not allowed to bring outside food) so i was going to buy the pizza there but they only ended up having 10" so we had to get quite a few for the party. The website says they have 16". Also we were supposed to have cosmic bowl and we were there from 5-7:30 with no cosmic bowl which was disappointing. However this is just the start of how bad this experience was. One of my guest was a new mom to a 2 month year old baby and wanted a pizza for her self. When she received the pizza it was extremely burnt ( the crust was black) but when she took it back to ask for another one the girl behind the counter said " it's not that burnt" (it was) she kindly asked for just another pizza and the man who made the pizza replied "it's only burnt on the outside" (side note she is holding her brand new baby feeding her and is also really hungry. He finally agrees to make her a pizza which takes AN HOUR 1/2. It was 7:18Pm when the man finally brought her pizza to her in a Togo box.... This is when I finally decided to talk to him and let him know how unprofessional and rude he was. Then the lady at the counter was also extremely rude the whole time AND the card reader wasn't working for anyones cards. The man working the counter giving our shoes also was probably one of the grumpiest men I've ever encountered. My daughter spilled a tiny bit of water and I let them know and he stormed over and basically moped around us angrily hitting the kids feet not even saying excuse me. The entire time he was just glaring making us feel like we were doing something wrong and just made everyone really uncomfortable with his bad attitude. Pretty much everyone who worked there (except one guy) seemed like they hated their job and just overall made the experience really terrible and disappointing. If the owner reads this I would strongly recommend advising their staff to be more professional and maybe try smiling and being kind to people paying a lot of money there. I love it here! My favorite bowling alley in Eugene. Very fair pricing on bowling, drinks and food. It's very clean and organized.

This place should be called Jaded lanes instead of emerald lanes. We came to bowl on a Thursday night, we tried to bowl at 630pm, we figured it could be busy with them having league nights, when I approached the desk to ask if they had any openings the employee working with a disgusted face said "we ain't have open lanes till 9pm" we all have had pretty terrible service and weird looks here at emerald. Shame, they're busy that they can treat patrons poorly without remorse. We ended up going to Firs bowling and had a great time with good employees. Emerald employees all seem to be over it, maybe too emerald that they're jaded. They seem to not be very happy people. So if you're interested to have a downer time, come to jaded lanes read more

From the moment my friends and I walked in we were treated in a very unfriendly manner by one of the staff. As we played our game, our lane continuously broke down & we had to wait 5-10 minutes each time even though there was staff everywhere. At one point, when one of us were about to bowl, the same staff member who treated us unfairly from the moment we walked in told him to hurry up rudely for no reason. Looking at a past review, it seems that the same thing happened & i suspect it is the same person. Not to mention, we paid for three songs just for one of them to play as we left. We had a blast this past weekend at Emerald lanes. The staff were friendly and all wore PPE equipment such as gloves and masks . The music was great , the facility was super clean including the bathrooms . The food menu was decent , although the drinks made up for it. Great tap beer selection and mixed drinks . Connor was our server and he very hospitable, big shout out to him! The atmosphere felt safe despite the fact that we are currently dealing with the wuhan virus. Place was fine, customer service was awful. Jeremy at the front desk was a nightmare to speak with and the food counter worker was angry as well. No one seemed happy to be there and it made the birthday visit pretty tainted. The bumper for our 5YO didn't work properly, which wasn't a huge deal, but noteable. I was bowling today with my son when a ball got stuck on a lane and he used another ball and rolled it down the lane to try and get it down the gutter. A staff member came rushing over and super aggressively said "Why would you do that?!" Apologies were made and he continued aggressively with "well, you break a ball, it's a $100." Instead of making it a Learning experience and explaining what could happen and what to do in the future. There are a lot of young teens and families coming through this business and it was extremely disappointing that this man did not handle the situation with more grace. Especially since there was a young boy behind the counter who I assume may have been his child. This experience really put a damper on our time we have had here and I would not recommend it based on this. read more

Group went in for some fun, the guy at the counter was very tired and could only give one-word answers... which I am ok with -- I have been there. I went to order some nachos based on the photos they provided. I recieved a boat of round nacho chips and a cup of nacho sauce. The photo had meat, tomatoes, etc. I approached the counter to ask for the nachos in the photo, and they said it would be an additional $5. There was no listing of deluxe nachos, just nachos. Alleys were OK, staff was very poor and didn't seem to care. Gas stations have the same food quality. I will only go here if everywhere else is busy. read more

This is an interesting bowling alley. They have fountain Pepsi and also can coke too. Love it. We were here on a tournament with 9 lanes. Cons: 1. What is up with the step up from the floor to the lane? There is about 2-3 inches to step up to in order to bowl. Several of us almost tripped. That was not fun. Because of the step up, you have to bend down quite far to get the ball before you bowl. This is a safety issue. 2. The monitor also does not show you where to get the pin to get the spare. we are use to the one back in WA that does show it. Pros: 1. It's nice that the monitor shows your average speed for each person 2. House balls are all lined up in the back and not next to the lanes where people are bowling Bowling alley is sorta hidden to the side so you might miss it if you are not aware. I think it's a decent bowling alley but the step up is quite a safety concern for me. read more

I haven't gone bowling in ages (as seen by my score of only 65 lol). I came here with a group of friends for a game and was surprised to see a mix of the old school charm of a bowling alley but in a more modern setting. I was excited to see the whole place with nice flat panel screens over all the lanes. It was nice also to see the owners not letting this place waste away and are proactive in staying modern with the times. I guess not being the only bowling alley in town will drive any place to stay competitive. Would gladly be back next time I want to play a game or two and hang out with some friends. read more

I'm a big fan of Emerald Lanes. I've been coming here since I was a kid. It's clean, well lit, and has friendly, helpful staff. They were even open on Christmas Eve, which is nice when you're looking for something to do on your birthday when everything else is closed. Games during open lanes are cheap, and their rental shoes are not gross or 40 years old. They have a good ball selection with plenty of weights and finger sizes to choose from. You can get snacks and beer, and play some pin ball too. They have bumpers in case you have kids or are as bad at bowling as me. If you're looking for whatever it's called with the loud music and blacklights, look elsewhere, I don't think you'll find it here. A word of warning: I would call ahead to find out about league times so you don't show up to play during those times and get turned away. read more

Great spot if bowling is what you want to do. They don't screw around; you arrive, grab a lane, and bowl. Staff is helpful when you need them, however they do exactly what a bowling alley should do; leave you alone. Forest/Forrest is a great guy, super intelligible, and I've had the privilege of having him drill my first ball. read more
