I came in here with my husband yesterday to play some arcade games. We often stop in when we're at the mall. This is an excellent place to indulge in our competitive love of air hockey, and we do every single time. The building is huge, and has a ton of arcade games, claw machines, pool tables, bowling, food, and more. I haven't tried bowling or the food, so I have no opinion on that yet. But I'm planning on it during our next visit. It is a nice, clean place. I've never really interacted with staff, so I don't have an opinion on their customer service. We usually just wander around until we find the air hockey table and any other games we want to play, and do exactly that. Would I return? I love round one! I feel like I always catch something on the claws, and their games have pretty fair ticket payouts. It's definitely one of my favorite places to go, and my two year old loves it too! The service at the bar/when getting snacks could be a lot better; I've been the only person standing up there for 10 minutes without getting service before. Also, if you're thinking about renting a room for a birthday party I suggest not doing that. We spent a lot to rent a room for a couple hours and it was impossible to do cake, presents, and play games. I'd suggest going somewhere else, like Fujis, and then coming here afterwards. read more

Having been to Round 1's in Japan, the US versions are a lot different. Japan's one are busy and buzzing with people & located in busy areas with plenty of foot traffic. This location is by the shopping center and that was quite void of foot traffic. This visit was busier than past visits, probably because it was Spring Break week and also an evening visit. There were people bowling and a number of people playing games---quite busy for a weeknight. There are a variety of machines, the rows claw machines are most in the front as you walk in and the other arcade games are in the back--rhythm/musical instrument games, dancing type games, basketball, driving, air hockey. It's definitely busier towards the back than the rows and rows of claw games. We spent most of our time playing the rhythm games, so there were no tickets to win or redeem and I cannot comment on that experience nor can I comment about the food. The place was bright, well lit and easy to navigate throughout the game center. All in all I had a good time and my visit was positive. It's a great place just to have some fun. read more

I attended a post-conference happy hour and networking event at Round1 Eugene last weekend. It's been a very long time since I've visited any fun zone establishments like this, but the conference provided the perfect excuse to let loose and have some fun. We were immediately confronted with chaos in the food service area when we checked in for the happy hour. Diners are required to place their order at a kiosk, then wait for their number to be called. However, two of the three kiosks were out of order resulting in unnecessary confusion and a lengthy line. There were unfortunately problems on the game floor as well. A high percentage of the games were out of service, creating higher demand for popular attractions. As is customary with family fun centers, each of the games award patrons electronic tickets or physical tokens and cards that can be redeemed for prizes in the gift shop. Perhaps the most frustrating problem encountered at Round1 is that there is only one kiosk to redeem rewards, which results is an inordinate wait time to complete the necessary transaction. I was determined to collect my rewards, so I waited over 45 minutes as the three people in front of me each cashed out. The kiosk jammed up three times during the wait, and each time an attendant was called. It seems Round1 has cut corners in every way possible, as well as disincentivized patrons from redeeming their rewards. Their staff are overworked due to being constantly beckoned by unhappy customers frustrated by the the entire process. I wasn't a happy customer, I was surrounded by other unhappy customers, and I don't see how this chaotic system is sustainable. Visit Round1 at your own risk. read more

Contrary to many of the negatives, I suppose the combination of my timing (early mornings/afternoons) and my few targets while on vacation enabled optimal fun times on my end. Before ending up at the Gitadora section, I took a stroll around to scope out the area for full vibe check. I've been to my local one here in Tukwila, WA pretty often so I'm likely comparing it to that. First off, many small & subtle details I like better. The lighting design plus a rather brighter carpet helps exude a pleasantly ambient lit floor area contrasted against the dark ceiling. This helps illuminate all the eye-level eye-candy, if you get my drift. The bathrooms were super clean, as well, which makes Tukwila look embarrassing. The dining & bowling areas were low-key, airy and seemed nice. Now ending up at my final destination: Gitadora. Yooo, dude! Again, I can't help it but this puts Tukwila to shame. Tukwila is good but this is _really_ good. Both the guitar & drum games have extra "bells & whistles" for that closer to stage/studio feeling. Great sound, too. I had a short vacation in town last month and this was one of my favorite spots, even if just 1-2 hours and a nice walk from downtown, to boot. Thumbs up! Cheers. read more

Was surprised by the fact that they have (1) raised prices, (2) there are more claw/coin machines than last time we went...like how many do we need, which lead directly to (3) the fact that there were just way less playable games, (4) and at least half a dozen games were broken. I really enjoy round1 as a late night place for activities. There claw machines, arcade machines, bowling, pool, ping pong, food, and dessert. The best value attraction for me is the sonic all stars machine which lets you play up to 4 stages of basketball if you're good at it. Over 2 minutes of basketball for about 6 or 7 credits. I love this place. You can do just about anything that your heart desires. You could sing in a room with your friends to hit songs and karaoke the night away. You could also bowl until your arm falls off. You want some alcoholic adult drinks well, they offer plenty. came tonight for the first time with some friends and on my first round my thumb got stuck in the bowling ball and it went out of the lane and up in the air. 100% my fault! but when the worker came up to me, i immediately apologized because i was so embarrassed for this accident. the worker proceeded to threaten to kick my party out if it happened again. i understand if there's constantly problems but this was literally my first round and you could very easily see how embarrassed i was and she met with attitude. everything is also so overpriced !! read more

It's a fun spot, tons of different arcade games to play, plus air hockey, bowling, karaoke, a bar, claw machines, and some basic food. If you play arcade games, you earn points which you can then use to buy stuff at the little store. (Like old-school arcades with tickets but it's all digital now.) Everything feels a bit overpriced (such as the $9 for a basic beer), but about $70 got my spouse and me two solid hours of games, a few unsuccessful tries on the claw machines, an order of tots and the aforementioned beer. We ended up with enough points to buy 4 different Japanese snacks in the store. Round1 is a game changer for Eugene. Fun, family friendly, and lots of arcade options. I always enjoy visiting when I'm in town. The most impressive part is the massive selection of games. Whether you're looking for claw machines, guitar games, racing games, basket ball hoops, or niche movie/video game themed arcade games, you're bound to find multiple options. The only downside is, many of the games are out of order. We spent points to play a game with a VR headset that was broken. The staff offered to come fix it for us so we could ride, but after standing there for almost 20 minutes, it was pretty clear the problem wasn't going to be solved. We were with a party of 5 who was wrapping up, so the two of us who had been waiting were disappointed that our time wasn't spent having fun with the others. We asked if they could just credit our game cards with the points we had lost so we could spend them on something else, but unfortunately that wasn't an option. This place is huge! Back in the 70's I used to work in a place like this, just not as huge! There are all types of video games, claw games, basketball hoop games, pool tables, ping pong tables, BOWLING! Small games, large ones.... this collection is almost overkill, like a giant casino for the kids. Consider it Chuck E Cheese on steroids. There is a snack bar with burgers and pizzas at a reasonable price considering the area. There is even an adult bar serving alcoholic beverages. Gaming prices range from 3 credits to 12 credits. 12 credits is only found on the giant claw machines with large stuffed animals. One credit is roughly 25 cents. You purchase a card that comes with a small activation fee and you keep it like a credit card. Once you have it you go up to a card station and add more credit to refill it. There are also different levels of club cards that offer greater discounts. Worth looking into if you want to be more of a regular customer. This place is large, clean and has friendly staff. Again, the food is reasonable compared to other places like Putters, but some of the games do come with a little sticker shock at roughly 75 cents minimum, but that could just be because I'm used to quarter games. Definitely bringing my kid and his pals here, but four stars for the gaming costs. read more

As far as arcades are concerned this place is pretty good. I haven't been back to Eugene in years. My old stomping grounds. A lot has changed but a lot has also stayed the same lol! Round1 was definitely a nice surprise. The kids had a blast. They also serve alcohol here and the bartender working made them strong. We tipped him well lol! When coming to Eugene and if you hit Valley River Center. I would definitely recommend this place. Especially if you have kids. My little one got lots of tickets and lots of prizes. I've been to this Round 1 twice. Once right before Covid restrictions and the second time during the restrictions. To be completely honest I thought it was way too packed prior to Covid which is obviously good for their business. It didn't deter me from playing games or getting food. On the contrary it was nice with limited people due to Covid restrictions but then the wait time to get in was crazy. All in all if you really want to go you will wait it out. Prices are a bit high, be prepared to drop $100 easy if you want to do any significant amount of gaming and eat. Atmosphere is lively and fun. Many different types of games to play. Overall I gave 4 stars because my family of 4 has had great experiences both times we went. Do I wish my money spread out a little further? Of course, but I understand what I'm getting myself into... a casino for kids, and us gamers from the 90's. read more

First of all, the kids always have fun here. But thats because they aren't the ones dealing with the staff and they don't understand how expensive everything is. At the food counter today they said they weren't taking anymore orders and the person behind the counter just left. So that was confusing. A staff member dressed as spider man stood directly behind us as we bowled and just started at us. It was very strange. This isn't the first odd encounter we've had with this particular employee. (Yes, our fault for going back!) After a night of playing in the arcade we came to the food court to eat at around 10:30pm. We were in a big group and we asked an employee if he would clean off a dirty table for us to sit at. He put the spray bottle down on the table and said we could clean it ourselves and then walked off. My 14 yr old niece sat down as we were confused and shocked, he then came back and very rudely said "how do you expect me to clean it if she's sitting there" her dad told him, you can ask her to move, and my niece got up. The employee walked away and threw the spray bottle at the wall and it went everywhere. He then went on the intercom and said "I quit!!". Obviously he wasn't having a good night, there's no way that asking him to clean a table triggered him that much. It was Saturday night and the place was packed, and I'm sure like all other businesses they are also understaffed. So whatever, we shook it off and order $88 worth of food for our group and waited at the tables. 20 minutes later, the manager Ashley came over and told my cousin, the one that asked the employee to wipe a table down that he needed to leave!! She said she couldn't have anyone in there that was confrontational. The employee literally caused a scene and we're the ones being kicked out???? Such BS!! She said we couldn't get a refund for our food, and we needed to go. Luckily our food was ready and we had it boxed up to go. This place is absolutely horrible, I encourage anyone that has a bad experience like us to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. We've been to round1 on two different occasions. The first time we went a lot of the arcade games were out of order. The second time there were more games working, we loaded up a play card with $60 dollars. We played a few games but the points we had went fast. A lot of the simpler games were 10 points or less. We were so disappointed this time, they started some new way of playing called time play. We did not go that route we just bought cards with credits. Once out on the floor playing we quickly realized that a bunch of games are now time play only! So you no longer have access to all the games they have. It was such a rip off! If this was based off arcade games themselves they would have gotten a solid four . However this is not a review just talking about the games. Let's talk about the abomination that is there "snack bar" holy balls it's the worst. First off it's price gauged like a mofo, everything has an up-charge. Want extra dipping sauce up-charge, want a refill up-charge, want to know how to lose customer base up-charge. On top of the price gauge the portions where ridiculously small, I paid almost $10 for five measly chicken tenders. Which by the way most of the tender was breading, choking down these dry little bastard was torture. I'm not one to waste food so I managed to finish. I thought this place was great, at first. The games can be a bit expensive, especially for paying $55 for a single night, but I overlooked that as it was fun for my wife and me. Once we were done, we went to the Victory Center, or whatever it's called to get a few prizes. I had 1,188 tickets, so we decided to get a glitter lava lamp that had a tag for around 1,060 tickets. We got to the counter to checkout after a five-minute wait even when employees saw us. I ask for the glitter lamp, and the employee goes to check for one. Another employee comes up to us and asks if they can help us. I kindly say that I believe another employee is helping us. They act kind of irritated, and they say "Well, they ARE a new hire." How was I supposed to know? So, someone with a bunch of tattoos goes to grab the glitter lamp. They say that I only have 1,188 tickets, and the lamp is over 2,000, so I can't get it. I told them that the tag said it was a little over 1,000, and they told me the tag was completely wrong. So my wife and I go to look for other prizes. We grab a few plushies, some toys, and candy. The tag for the plushies rang up as 280 each, but the tags said 400 each. So, we go again to look for something else. Then some candy that said they cost 10 tickets each rang up for 20 each. All the tags seemed to be wrong, and it was a huge disappointment. I almost felt like this "lead employee" was playing with us and claiming we didn't have enough tickets for things. They were nice towards the end and made some funny comments about the toys we got, but it was still a nightmare to get prizes. They were also pretty loud talking to new employees and said stuff like "Listen up, everyone! If you want a bathroom break, take it now!" (or something like that). read more

I came here with a friend that's never been here before as this is my girlfriend and I's weekly date spot and she wasn't able to come tonight on her birthday because she wasn't feeling well. The customer service here is ALWAYS awesome. I wanted to win my gf a super cute plush animal for her birthday and I met an extremely amazing employee named Azura. Azura rooted me on and kept me positive to not get discouraged and sure enough it took a few tries but I won the one I know she'll absolutely LOVE! People like Azura should get plenty of praise for their genuine kindness and positivity as kindness is infectious.
