I noticed there was still slots opened for free classes at the end of the week so I booked for another one. I was then texted that I was only able to join if I knew I was going to purchase a membership, so I canceled my reservation. I absolutely love coming to Lagree Mi! I attended a 5:30 am class, which is fantastic if you need to get in a class to start your day. I recently discovered lagree a couple months ago and fallen in love with the workout/methodology. I've tried a few studios thru my classpass membership but I think LagreeMi is my favorite studio so far, so much that I even travel here from Simi despite there being several options closer. Every instructor I've had has been so wonderful and offered helpful instruction/corrections. I like that the machines are offset which allows me to stay in the zone without getting distracted by my neighbors. I've taken classes with almost every instructor, and each brings something different while still delivering a challenging, effective workout. If you're new, show up early, introduce yourself, and communicate any injuries -- they truly want you to succeed. What really sets this studio apart is the community. From holiday decorations and small celebrations to warm greetings when you walk in, it truly feels like home. I would not recommend this studio based on my experience. This was my first visit, and although we were only a couple of minutes late, we were greeted by a receptionist who came across as snarky and unwelcoming, immediately making us feel uncomfortable rather than accommodated. Unfortunately, the class itself did not improve the experience. The instructor, Kristine R., was difficult to follow and did not explain movements clearly. Directions were rushed and often limited to simply telling us where to place our feet, with little attention given to proper form or ensuring participants understood the exercise. When offering corrections, her tone felt more critical than helpful, which created an environment that felt discouraging rather than supportive. Additionally, her counting throughout the class was inconsistent and often off-beat, which made it even harder to stay in rhythm or understand how long we were supposed to hold movements. In a Lagree-style workout, timing and controlled pacing are essential, so this made the class feel disorganized. The workout also lacked the intensity I typically expect from Lagree classes. I usually leave those sessions feeling challenged and fatigued, but this class felt watered down and not very engaging. Overall, the atmosphere did not feel positive, welcoming, or motivating. I hope the studio takes feedback seriously and works toward creating a more encouraging, professional, and well-structured experience for future clients. read more

You can tell right away how much thought and care they put into every detail -- from the curated selection of drinks available for purchase to the spotless studio and those refreshing eucalyptus towels after class. I've taken hundreds of Lagree classes across a lot of different studios, and this one is by far my favorite I've been to! When I went for the first time, everybody was incredibly kind and welcoming. I did a Bad Bunny Super Bowl pregame themed class and they put footballs on each mega, you can tell they really put effort into the details. The class itself was a good balance of challenging but doable. I can't wait to come back and take more classes here! read more

The most welcoming, comforting, and warm environment- especially for beginners. This was my first time attending a class at this Lagree studio and I can definitely say I will be returning! The class flow was very smooth, informative, and intense which not only challenged me (heavily) but also made me appreciate the way Skylar (the instructor) described each move on not only the machine but also verbally. About 3/4s into the class, I started feeling very light headed, shortness of breath, and dehydrated. I'd like to be clear: it was not the fault of the instructor that I felt this way, but my own because I hadn't eaten enough nor drank enough water on a hot day, and I pushed myself very hard despite this being my first lagree class. At first, I was very embarrassed because the girls in the same class seemed a bit more experienced than I was, and I didn't want to be a burden on the instructor. Skylar asked me if I was okay and brought me a water and offered me a banana while I caught my breath. Thankfully, I was okay and was able to continue the rest of the class, but this didn't stop almost every girl in the class approaching me and asking me if I was okay and expressed how they get light headed sometimes too! After that, the owner, Helen even checked on me and didn't let me pay for the water, while making sure I was okay before leaving. We spoke briefly about how even as instructors and professionals, they too feel sore, difficulty in some moves, and very challenged after each class. This made me feel very comfortable into entering this new environment and I felt totally ensured that no judgements were made on my first visit by the owner, instructor, and especially the other members! Also fair warning that I was extremely sore for 3 days free this class, but totally worth it!! I purchased my membership that same day and am counting down the days until my first class back!!
