    Get Sweat!
    Emily A.

Last night I had an amazing first class with Claire at Get Sweat! I had reserved a spot on the app and I noticed that most classes were waitlisted already, but I got lucky and got the last available spot on the app for this day! Parking around the area appears to be paid street parking and it is plentiful easy to get a spot around the studio. Upon entering staff is super nice and helpful, I was shown how to use the bike and adjust it to my levels. I love that I can wear my own shoes and strap in if I want to, or use clip in shoes. They also have some really nice towels for sale and I purchased one for $13. When I unrolled the towel I was pleasantly surprised that it was larger than I expected to really get that sweat off. The room with the bicycles is spacious and It's pretty cool that the back of the bicycle holds weights so during the cycle you can use weights for the upper body portion. The people in class have great energy, periodically people would WOOOO!!!! after a sprint and it felt motivating to keep going strong. Claire was great about explaining what's coming next and encouraging us to keep pushing through. It's funny because in the beginning when she first walked in, she reminded me of a motivational speaker the way she worked up to getting us moving. The music was awesome very upbeat which helped me to keep moving as fast as I could. Adding the upper body exercises with the weights is amazing. I really loved my experience at Get Sweat and I will be back soon for more classes!

What a fun experience! I attended a Friday evening class and had such a great time. The vibes, energy, and music were all on point. Huge shoutout to the instructor for being so motivating and for reminding us of the power of our bodies. I appreciated that the class incorporated arm workout with small weights, it really added to the overall workout! Since it's a heated studio you will definitely work up a sweat so be sure to bring a towel and plenty of water. I highly recommend checking it out if you are interested in trying cycling!

The Place: There was plenty of parking I love that, my first impression walking in was good the place looked clean and they have a cute lobby area with sofas and magazines. As soon as you come in they ask you to sign a waiver (common in these places) and another waiver for use of photography (if they use your picture to advertise or promote etc.) there was some stuff I thought the other place I had gone too impressed me more but again its whatever your personal preference is. The bathroom was just a regular bathroom no special items in there that stood out (The other place I visit had deodorant spray and face towelettes, hair tie, mints etc. a nice touch) Evolution has lockers that they welcome you to use just bring your own Lock. (The other place had lockers with key pads nice!, one less thing to worry about) The People: The girl who greeted me was ok she was not that friendly (I'm comparing her to the previous place I had visit yesterday), but she was also not rude she was just not as excited as the other places Hostess their energy was high and excited to have a new member vs here I felt to be honest their customer service needs a little help they can't expect everyone to just come in and be sold they have competition out there. The instructor was very nice and professional she volunteered to show me around and offer to help me with the bicycle adjustment. The workout: The bicycles needed a little more maintenance when I tried to adjust it was a workout in itself lol! I was sweating already trying to get my seat and handlebars to where I needed them. Class starts and the first thing that came out was Banda music (head down :P) I'm not a big fan of Banda music its just not something I listened to growing up (cumbias, merengue, Rock, country, alternative etc. I'm open except for Banda) I enjoy all music, but this was not really my thing, so it was difficult for me to connect. Overall good place to workout I was exhausted and felt good, time was not wasted (1 towel was provided nice for when you Sweat, and you will Hot room) oh and at the end of the class they give you a little wet napkin meant to be used to clean bicycle not your face lol! (Red face :P I thought it was a little towelette to freshen up after your workout lol! ) I like details and the little things like having hair ties for their customers and equipment I can adjust on my own this make an impression and makes me feel like they value me as a member. Wish them the best of luck and much success, this is just my experience, but at the end It's not for me.

Love the workouts!…read more If you want a great work out, this is the place! Spin or Cardio HIT, pick your poison lol Feels great to be pushed out of your comfort zone to get the best results. It's clean, Music is great, Staff is helpful and the instructors are great.

The amount of dust in every corner is the worst. The gym employees basically do a light wipe of the machines. We took my 17 year old high-school son for his first ever visit and to request a day pass for him to experience the gym, possibly join. The club manager denied them, 7+ years PREMIUM PLUS member, and informed my wife to pay $20 for a single day pass or he would have to sign-up/commit to check out the gym for the FIRST time. He let them walk out, not even a tour, a member and her kid. Website offers a FREE 3-Day gym-pass w just an email address FYI. Club manager should have gave them this info but did not. Thank you to the club manager for making this a no brainer for my son. As a business owner myself, you should always look after those who have continuously supported you instead of looking for the quick dollar. Lastly, just saw that Fitness 19 pushed over a service charge to the customer of $2.49 EXTRA for processing of your monthly dues. You have to pay to pay them. Only for credit or debit card payments which is required I believe. Nickels and dimes also add up.

They blast their music through speakers in shared spaces like the pool area, sauna, and steam room. I have witnessed men scratching themselves inappropriately in public, and the bathrooms are frequently gross and poorly maintained. There seems to be very little accountability for behavior that affects everyone else trying to use the gym. What bothers me the most is how I have been treated when I voice my concerns. When I have brought issues to male staff members at this location, including concerns about being assaulted by a man, I have felt dismissed, belittled, and it seems I am not even being listened to. Women should be able to bring up serious concerns without having their experiences minimized. I pay to use this gym just as much as the men do. I should not have to sit in the sauna, steam room, or pool area listening to someone blast their personal music through a speaker! Other people are trying to relax, exercise, and enjoy the facilities too. It's called respect and basic gym etiquette, and unfortunately, a lot of men at this location do not seem to have either! If you are a woman considering this gym, protect yourself and be prepared to advocate for yourself nonstop! Based on my experience, even when you bring concerns to staff, there is no guarantee that you will actually be heard or taken seriously. That needs to change. THIS GYM NEEDS TO HIRE A FEMALE MANAGER who will validate women's voices and experiences and actually make changes when it comes to men taking advantage of shared spaces and behaving however they want without accountability. I'm not a "Karen" for not wanting to hear a man blasting his music through a speaker in a shared gym space. I pay for my membership just like they do, and I'm just as entitled to use and enjoy that space without being forced to listen to someone else's music. Expecting basic respect and consideration in a shared environment does not make me a "Karen." The only reason I continue going to this gym is because it is open 24 hours and convenient for my area. If an all women's gym were more affordable, I would much rather go there.

It has been years since I've stepped foot in a gym, and I'm not young, so I had misgivings about how the training would go, but those misgivings have disappeared. I have always been active in one form or another, first as a (modest) school athlete, then in the military, and finally just interested in general fitness, but my time with Chenell, Dirk, and Emilie has yielded results (already?!) I've never felt or seen before. Going into this, I submitted information about my background and goals, and I feel it's clear that the team really listened and that I am on a tailored program directly addressing my goals. I am by no means an expert in weightlifting, and thus far have needed many reminders about which exercise is which, what the movements are, etc. but I always feel comfortable asking for those reminders. Dirk and/or Chenell, and/or Emilie are consistently close by for those reminders, or to help with adjustments to form, and pointing out if it might be time to increase resistance (weights) because of increased strength over time. I told myself I was "only" going to do two workouts per week when I started, and almost immediately (and eagerly) bumped it up to three workouts per weeks since I could feel and see positive results almost from the very beginning. I've since discovered that some close friends have also had great experiences at Lift Silverlake, and I've already found myself recommending it to friends based on my experience there.
