I could have had it sent to a library closer to me but I knew I'd eventually be in the area so I stopped here while running errands one day. It's located at the civic center where there is plenty of parking. The library is small but seemed to have plenty of places for patrons to sit. It was very quiet on the Thursday afternoon I visited. I noticed they have a good-sized children's section as well as a "Friends of the Library" used bookstore at the entrance. Once inside, I quickly found the book I was after, used the self-check-out monitor at the front desk and was quickly on my way.

Staff are moderately helpful. The Big Issue? Noise. You have the usual library sounds (kids asking questions, parents answering, people looking for books, group work, occasional community events). But there are also people answering their phones, loud greetings, and worse, library staff engaging in social-hour-level conversations. One of the women is by far the worst. She acts like she is greeting her friends at a Starbucks. Today she chatted with a neighborhood friend by the magazine racks so loud I had to shush her. If the library staff cant model quiet in their own library, why would patrons? Geez!

But that's OK for me as it's a place for me to easily return books, pick up books I reserve, and grab a quick read when I need it. It's super-convenient for when I run errands to Aldi, UPS, Coffee Bean being the same plaza and also great for Laguna Woods Village elders. For people who are looking for a usual library, there are several within a few minutes drive: 1) El Toro - 7 minutes away on the El Toro 2) Laguna Hills - 7 minutes 3) Laguna Beach - 16 minutes away (my favorite, great view of beach, not huge but good variety of books)

This is not really a library. The one staff person called it, "A satellite."…read more The place is inside of the Laguna Woods city hall. To say what it is would be to describe what it has. It has a single bookshelf of books. It has a bookshelf of dvd's. A couple of computers. A book return drop. A person who can order books through a library loan system. What it does not have is tables to sit down and read. It is a place you can go to pick up a dvd, use a computer with internet, request a book that may take a couple of days, and return a book. The people who come here appear to be seniors. I believe the place is for seniors to use the internet and request a book. The disappointment of the place is that "mini" or "satellite" is not in the title. Just the word library is enough to make me think the place came with chairs and tables and more than just a single bookshelf.

This is a small local library that has all the usual offerings. They have plenty of computers you…read morecan use and printers. I always see school aged children studying here. In addition to books and computer services, they have park passes that you can borrow so you can park at the state parks for free. I believe they will be adding museum passes too at some point. There's also a nice selection of e-books to borrow. The staff is friendly and there is a small parking lot to the side. There are a few handicapped spots in the front and there is a side entrance where you can buy used books. There is also a park nearby if you wanted to take a walk after visiting the library.

We were coming here before when it was still part of the OC libraries, and now when it's a separate Irvine library. After the switch to Irvine library system, it does seem like everything is really nice. They've got lots of good quality books that my daughter and I enjoy, and they have a nice kids area with some seating where you can read to your kids or let them play. They have a few toys for kids to play with too. However, I am not a fan of their online system now. Under OC libraries it was easy to look for library events, figure out what books you owe, etc. Now the library events are listed in the Irvine catalog website, which I've always thought was a clunky website and hard to search. They also stopped the "Read 1000 books before kindergarten" program, which I'm bummed about. I wish they had stayed part of OC libraries, but it's still a nice library and it's close to me so I'll keep coming here.

The library bookstore is separate from the main library. It is next to the restrooms in the…read moreentrance. Their selection of books is more diverse than the other OC library bookstores I've been to. I would feel it's as comparable to a really small Bookoff in terms of what I can find there selection-wise. However, going at different times I sometimes find nothing good. Maybe the selection is so good at times that too many people buy stuff here. Most recently I didn't find anything too good, so I just impulse purchased a few things and left. They accept credit cards.

I came here to get a specific book that only this branch within the OC library system had. You can have a book sent to the library closest to you but I hadn't been to San Clemente for a while, so I wanted to make the drive; it was nice to walk around the old town area after grabbing the book. Librarians were very nice and the library was quiet with quite a few tables and chairs within an open space. One of the more inviting libraries in OC.

Such a cute library! I love the drive here - so much beautiful nature on a road that is normally…read morepretty empty. Though the library isn't the biggest, the staff here are super friendly and they have unique offerings. Their Friends of the Library section is decently stocked, but what sets this location apart is they also sell cards! Many occasions - holidays, get well soon, just because - it's really cute. A few other things that makes this library unique: 1) They have free seed packets for bee-friendly flowers; 2) There's a scavenger hunt for kids - if they find everything, they can pick a small item out of a container to take home; 3) They have a play kitchen and market and a few tables where kids can do different activities; 4) Their selection of audiobooks for both kids and adults is pretty impressive. They also have a monthly calendar, some newspapers, and brochures, along with staff recommendations and board games to check out. Very cool!

It's a very small library in the OC system, half devoted to children and half to adults. Having driven by it countless times but never having a reason to stop (because until recently I've worked nextdoor to a library) I finally decided to check them out. They have an abundance of parking. Inside, there are a few computers for patron usage, one of which I used to sign up for a library card. With a library card you can check out things from the library as well as have free online access to Overdrive and Hoopla for ebooks. Staff were very friendly and helpful in answering a couple questions I had. Shelves were well-labeled for their little collection of books, audio books & DVDs (yes, they still exist). The children's section had a few play areas amidst the bookshelves and seemed very inviting for a youngster. In fact all of the patrons I saw here were moms with kids. They seem to have a lot of programs for children. For families in the area this is a wonderful library.

Of course you can have a book shipped from any OC library to one close to you but I was curious about the Tustin library, never having been there. I walked in and my first impression - it's HUGE. An enormous lobby with a large children's section to the right and a larger adult area to the left. The library was neat and well organized - I found the book within a minute. So I browsed around a bit and ended up getting a couple others too. On my way to check out my books I passed a classroom full of computers, and it appeared as though some sort of class had just adjourned. Other reviews mention it is a bit noisy here but I honestly didn't experience that on a weekday afternoon. Since I did self-checkout, I didn't interact with any of the librarians so I was unable to impress them with riveting conversation about the Dewey Decimal System.

when the irvine libraries split from the ocpl system, i ended up switching over to tustin since…read moreit's the closest location to me now. the location itself is really nice. it's in the civic center, so you've got the community center and police department right there, and there are a bunch of food and drink spots across the street if you want to grab something before or after. there's plenty of parking outside, but even then on busy days it can get full really fast. there are also bathrooms available but you need to ask the library for the code to access, as i believe it changes daily. they also have a security guard who stands by the door. inside, the library is super spacious, but it's not the quietest. i wouldn't really recommend it as a study or focus spot if that's what you're looking for since it can get pretty loud, especially with kids. there is a separate quiet room, but it seems more geared toward teens. i do wish the books were organized a little better. sometimes it feels like a maze trying to find something, especially not knowing if it'll be in teen/young adult or general fiction. i'm also not the biggest fan of how the manga is set up since it's split into two different areas and i'm not really sure why. that said, the staff has always been super friendly and helpful. i also love that they have a rotating table of themed recommendations. right now it's ren faire reads, but they've done things like blind date with a book for valentine's and other themed picks based on different time periods too. overall, it's a very nice facility with a wide selection of books, from new releases, manga, kids and teens books, etc.
