Public library is an essential part of a community. It offers so many information resources many…read moreresidents often ignored. Foothill Ranch Library is among a handful OCPL locations that has a stand-alone community room. It is used for magic shows, music performances, classrooms, and a neighborhood vote center as needed. I only found out today that it hosts an ESL conversation meeting on the second and fourth Mondays every month led by Anna, a library staff. Today I checked out a printed book and an audio book on Japanese to study. Very grateful for these resources I can access for free.

It's a 20-30 min from Irvine but Ms. Rylee keeps the kids engaged and there are so many things to do. The beauty of this library is that there is a park in the same parking lot. If you ever come, story time is in the MPR separate from the library. There's ample space and stroller parking inside, as well as bathrooms.

He said he was pregnant and using that money for his prosthetic leg the dog is suffering in pain. And not getting any food. I visit Mission viejo library and report it the homeless guy was smoking inside the library and the people there did not do anything they said they will contact animal control and do not do a single thing about it the dogs named Angel. People are not doing anything about this issue. This library does not do anything for the community. And not a good thing to do if you do see this Dog please or put it to the animal control or the police

I've been hesitant to leave a bad review for the rude librarians who work here (the older lady and…read morethe dark haired one), but I see it's not just a "me problem." I don't know why people work here when they have an issue with kids. There's literally scavenger hunts, toddler programs, Lego days and all kinds of other things for children. Not to mention there really doesn't seem to be an issue with people and kids talking loudly, unless you get one of the ride librarians. It's really sad they act this way bc otherwise we really like it and come here almost weekly.

My hubs and I visited the Sherman Gardens during the first week of March. It was our first time…read morethere even though I grew up in SoCal and fly back every year to visit my parents. Wish I had visited earlier because it is truly a gem of a garden! Due to construction, we were only able to visit about half of the garden. That was a bummer, but what was available for viewing was gorgeous. From the cactus and succulent garden to the tropical banana trees to the seasonal flower beds and shade garden, it was all really beautiful. Also, there was an ikebana show and demo happening that day for free as part of our admission fee. It was a really cool show, the demos were super interesting, and my hubs won one of the pretty arrangements they raffled off! Such a great way to spend a morning.

Participated in their Yappy Hour event this past Friday. Lovely crowd and vibes. Half of the…read morelibrary is under construction for their new project, so we didn't have full access to everything but we still enjoyed the live music and company. We brought our little pug as well. He had a fun time barking at all of the other four legged friends while exploring the grounds. They also had water bowls around the gardens as well as free treats for the furbabies. Lots of shade after 5pm! Overall fun experience. The tickets for Yappy Hour are a bit pricey considering how little of the gardens we got to see because of the construction. Still a fun experience seeing our little pug socialize with other dogs. Our tickets each came with a free drink voucher. They had a good selection of beers and wines. We'll definitely come back for the next Yappy Hour!

I came here to get a specific book that this library had and none of the other OC libraries had…read more(about an Arctic shipwreck). Of course you can have a book shipped from any OC library to one close to you but I was curious about the Tustin library, never having been there. I walked in and my first impression - it's HUGE. An enormous lobby with a large children's section to the right and a larger adult area to the left. The library was neat and well organized - I found the book within a minute. So I browsed around a bit and ended up getting a couple others too. On my way to check out my books I passed a classroom full of computers, and it appeared as though some sort of class had just adjourned. Other reviews mention it is a bit noisy here but I honestly didn't experience that on a weekday afternoon. Since I did self-checkout, I didn't interact with any of the librarians so I was unable to impress them with riveting conversation about the Dewey Decimal System.

when the irvine libraries split from the ocpl system, i ended up switching over to tustin since…read moreit's the closest location to me now. the location itself is really nice. it's in the civic center, so you've got the community center and police department right there, and there are a bunch of food and drink spots across the street if you want to grab something before or after. there's plenty of parking outside, but even then on busy days it can get full really fast. there are also bathrooms available but you need to ask the library for the code to access, as i believe it changes daily. they also have a security guard who stands by the door. inside, the library is super spacious, but it's not the quietest. i wouldn't really recommend it as a study or focus spot if that's what you're looking for since it can get pretty loud, especially with kids. there is a separate quiet room, but it seems more geared toward teens. i do wish the books were organized a little better. sometimes it feels like a maze trying to find something, especially not knowing if it'll be in teen/young adult or general fiction. i'm also not the biggest fan of how the manga is set up since it's split into two different areas and i'm not really sure why. that said, the staff has always been super friendly and helpful. i also love that they have a rotating table of themed recommendations. right now it's ren faire reads, but they've done things like blind date with a book for valentine's and other themed picks based on different time periods too. overall, it's a very nice facility with a wide selection of books, from new releases, manga, kids and teens books, etc.

Henceforth,…read moreI've always been partial to visiting these institutions, which led to me selecting this location to collect vote-by-mail (VBM) ballots for the Riverside Registrar of Voters leading up to the Presidential Primary Election in early 2024. I spent many hours observing the patrons and employees, as well as wandering the facility, and these are the results. First, the location is excellent. Not far from the municipal buildings, fairly close to the 91 Freeway, and on the lower edge of the sloping foothills that makes Corona one of the least efficient cities to travel around. Fortunately, the library doesn't share that flaw. Inside is a long hallway lined with the circulation desk and many displays of artwork and Lego models. These are rotating decor, but it's fun to watch kids casting votes for the best item. Another grand hallway joins perpendicular to the main one and this leads to the extensive children's section, and also has passport services and a sizeable Friends of the Library bookstore (separate review for that). Computers, conference rooms, instructional classrooms, and study rooms are available. A couple other favorite areas Include the large boardgame section and Teens area with its impressive selection of Manga anime and studyhall. Even if the same bad middleschool kids got kicked out almost daily for being loud and obnoxious, it was entertaining. A co-worker commented one day after the second or third incident: "There's the instigator, the girl with the red sneakers." Good times. On a personal note, it's nice seeing that some kids still read and enjoy visiting the local library.

Today was the day I woke up and decided to stop gatekeeping this amazing library. I come here 1-2…read moretimes a week to browse the books and buy from the friends of the library bookstore. First, the library is beautiful. There are fountains, trees, and flowers. It's right next to the Orange Circle, so it's such a cute area. I will sometimes go for coffee in the Orange Circle after visiting the library. Friends Bookstore- This bookstore has the BEST selection of books. Outside is a bookcase of $0.25 books. Inside the book store, there are rows of books and they even have a kid/teen section. Books range from $0.50 to $1.50, with some special priced books (usually $3). Also, every month they have a special sticker color that indicates that those books as $0.50! I have gotten so many books here for myself, as gifts, and for work (I'm a school counselor and they have a section for mental health books in the kids section!). On Tuesdays, $1.50 books are half off for members. It's $12 a year for a membership but it includes $5 towards books and half off Tuesdays. TOTALLY worth it. I have gotten so many good and even newly released books here for $0.50-$3! It's really a steal! Everyone I have encountered working/volunteering there have been so kind and helpful. I genuinely LOVE coming here and browsing books and talking to the volunteers.
