They have self checkout stations but I'm old school and like to engage with the staff upon checkout. The computers truly need some deep cleaning. The copier alcove has a change machine, a bench, and table; located to the right of the checkout counter, just yards down the hall. Most heartening, a bin is dedicated to worn American flags (located to the right of the fireplace room). Other donation containers may sometimes include Marine donations and gently used purses. This library proudly displays local artists' artwork and changes it up from local schools. Most of the library books are in great shape and you can sometimes find multiple copies. Restrooms are located to the right immediately upon entering the library's automatic sliding glass doors; there are also restrooms near the adult non-fiction area. A little concerned that the parking lot is not clearly lit upon your exit of the library, if leaving after sunset.

I saw so many people studying and reading, I felt inspired to enjoy a good book. They have a genealogy section which has so much interesting information to explore! I got lost in their Civil War books too. I love the local artwork from high school and elementary students. An awesome way to showcase the creativity of students in the community. They have clean bathrooms and friendly staff. I'd come back.

When researching what to do in town, the library kept popping up, mostly because of its architecture, and I'm so glad I made it a point to walk over to the library located on the edge of town. Yes, the building is absolutely stunning and incredibly unique... but what truly made the experience extra special for me were the librarians. They were so genuinely kind and welcoming and I very proudly added an Orange County Library card to my growing collection (a personal joy, honestly). It was the perfect place to wander aimlessly amongst the stacks of books, charge my devices, sit and relax, and browse through their national park books. The Friends of the San Juan Capistrano Library Bookstore was also open and had a great selection that made it very hard to leave empty handed. This library is beautiful, peaceful, resource rich (more than just books!) I wish I lived closer so I could come more often.

The selection is much larger than most other libraries in the OC system and, as a voracious reader of nonfiction, they have much more on their shelves. The library is clean and well organized with comfortable seating here and there. They have multiple self checkout stations and helpful staff at the front counter. A self checkout station I recently attempted to use kept telling me the book I was trying to checkout didn't exist so I went to the counter where the kind fellow working quickly checked me out with no problem and mentioned they were aware of an intermittent issue with the code reader at one of the stations, likely the one I was using. Their restrooms are kept immaculate and they have a Friends of the Library store where used books can be purchased. Plentiful parking is available as it is located at the edge of a large shopping plaza; very convenient if I need to pick up a bottle of wine to go with a book.

I don't know why people work here when they have an issue with kids. There's literally scavenger hunts, toddler programs, Lego days and all kinds of other things for children. Not to mention there really doesn't seem to be an issue with people and kids talking loudly, unless you get one of the ride librarians. It's really sad they act this way bc otherwise we really like it and come here almost weekly.

I could have had it sent to a library closer to me but I knew I'd eventually be in the area so I stopped here while running errands one day. It's located at the civic center where there is plenty of parking. The library is small but seemed to have plenty of places for patrons to sit. It was very quiet on the Thursday afternoon I visited. I noticed they have a good-sized children's section as well as a "Friends of the Library" used bookstore at the entrance. Once inside, I quickly found the book I was after, used the self-check-out monitor at the front desk and was quickly on my way.

Staff are moderately helpful. The Big Issue? Noise. You have the usual library sounds (kids asking questions, parents answering, people looking for books, group work, occasional community events). But there are also people answering their phones, loud greetings, and worse, library staff engaging in social-hour-level conversations. One of the women is by far the worst. She acts like she is greeting her friends at a Starbucks. Today she chatted with a neighborhood friend by the magazine racks so loud I had to shush her. If the library staff cant model quiet in their own library, why would patrons? Geez!

There were tents for medical assistance and water available since it was hot. I loved that. The bleachers were accessible and I was impressed. New buildings, computers, resources and amazing staff like Ericka at admissions who helped answer some questions I had. The icing on the cake is that Saddleback college has won awards for being one of the best community colleges in the US. I'd give Saddleback College Online website a 3 stars…read more The college itself seems outstanding academically, and they offer the one online class I really need, which is the onlyI reason I stayed enrolled. But honestly, their website experience has been one of the most frustrating college portals I've used. I consider myself very computer savvy. I've successfully handled registration, payments, class enrollment, and online portals with Chaffey College, Fullerton College, Santa Ana College, and even UCLA pre-hospital programs online without major issues. Saddleback's system, however, feels overly complicated and cluttered. I literally made 3calls all while trying to navigate through the clutter. The site constantly times out, and there seem to be glitches between the main portal and Outlook web app. I'd click to view messages and get a "hang on while we sign you out" message instead. Then I'd rush back into MySite before the session expired again. Even something simple like checking my Summer 2026 classes felt unnecessarily difficult. There are too many tabs, locks, checklists, tutorials, and steps all over the homepage. It feels overwhelming instead of user-friendly. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for students who aren't comfortable with technology or for international students navigating the system for the first time. My first experience calling for help back in March was positive, but recently I felt like support would rather have me drive to campus with my laptop instead of explaining things clearly over the phone. That was disappointing. A counselor, literally suggested I drive to campus with my laptop ‍ I really think the website design needs improvement. Simpler navigation and a cleaner layout would make a huge difference because the current setup is unnecessarily confusing for students trying to complete basic tasks online. I really hope that for summer semester all these glitches clear up.
