A fun group eating, drinking, visiting and getting ready for the show.

Comedy Under the Stars- another great show. $10. If you order ahead of time. $12. At the door. Leave the kids at home and enjoy an evening with fun adults. Laguna Town Hall hosts many events throughout the year. Great location. Get there early to find close parking.

I'm staying here at the Holiday Inn Express here in Elk Grove for work. I actually checked in a few…read moredays ago but been so busy, I'm just getting around to doing a review now. Check in went well, they had my reservation all booked and my choice of room. I get an upgrade cause I'm one of the Platinum members and they gave me my 500 points no problem. The room looked fine and the WiFi worked, that's one of the main things so I can get my work done. The rest of the room was clean and the AC worked fine. I checked the bathroom and every thing was fine, the hot water worked fine and there weren't any stray hairs about. Breakfast was the standard IHG Holiday Inn stuff. Hot breakfast of eggs or omelet thingies, sausages and bacon and cereal if you want just that. There's breads and muffins to toast as well as jelly and butter. My stay so far has been fine, no problems and a decent quiet room.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Elk Grove was a Five Star overnight experience. For someone who…read morerarely travels, I decided to venture out. I walked into their lobby and was amazed how beautiful and high tech the interior design looked. I loved it! I booked my stay and was on the 2nd floor of the 3 story hotel. My room overlooked the pool. They are in the middle of renovations and soon this hotel will be even better...hard to believe. I went to breakfast which was free and was again amazed at what had changed in the world. The first was a pancake machine where you just push a button and you can watch 2 pancakes get poured, moved on a conveyer belt as they cook and then drop onto your plate. Be sure to have your plate ready..haha. The breakfast bar was clean and well stocked with eggs, sausage, oatmeal and so much more. The coffee station was fantastic. It is open 24 hours and you choose your coffee beans, had decaf, if you know me, lol, then the coffee machine brewed and then poured my coffee. A truly fantastic coffee station. My room was so beautiful and clean with so many nice touches. I love the dove hand wash and body lotion. Love it here tub and shower shampoo, conditioner and body wash. So many towels and a fridge and microwave. The bed was soft with 4 pillows. A nice size tv and the room was just lovely. Souzan checked me in with kindness and professional style and I decided to become a Holiday sink Express member right then. Even though I am only here one night, I will definitely cone back here to Elk Grove Holiday Inn Express again. It is also next to Mimi's Cafe and Old Navy. What a great location. Thank you all, see you again. Julie A

Shoutout to the West Sacramento/ Clarksburg area…read more... The Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg is a historic beet sugar refinery from 1934-1993 that has wine shops and tasting rooms for local wineries. They have over a dozen wineries. Wine tastings average $15 and most wineries waive the fee if you buy a bottle. They have wine shops in the main building and in the other building. Don't forget to walk back and to the right to the shops in the separate back building, there is 3-4 more wineries. Each winery are literal walled shops with their own seating areas. Temperature controlled which is nice on hot summer days. Each have their own wine tasting, food offerings, and special events. Old Sugar Mill is less than 15 minute drive from downtown Sacramento. The buildings are beautiful. They kept the historic brick walls and exterior. It has a modern shabby chic look. Three different brands owned the refinery. It all began in 1934 with Amalgamated, American Crystal Sugar Factory (1936-1982), and Delta Sugar (1983-1993). The sugar was refined by local Northern Californian grown beets. The buildings was renovated in 2000 for its current use. Awesome concept and beautiful architecture design. They also host weddings and events. They have a banquet room with slideshow equipment. There is also an outdoor lawn and adjoining paved patio area that is shaded in the afternoon by the buildings that would make for a gorgeous wedding venue. On hot summer days, the Delta breeze kicks in for instant cool down. No outside food are picnics are allowed. On the weekends, they have food trucks. Plus the majority of the wineries sell food (appetizers) as well. Also no pets are allowed (excluding service animals). The restrooms are located right by the front entrance.
