Out working the first and early fire this year the local weather service was calling for rain. I looked into rooms for me and the crew and came across this jewel. Very good rates for fire fighters and big rooms to boot. I reserved 3 rooms and as soon as we came off the hill we went and checked on. The rooms are big and very nice. Being almost in the middle of town we could walk to most places after work. The stay was pleasant and the local bear made an appearance most nights. Good place to stay. read more

Unfortunately we had a disappointing experience for dinner this past Saturday (09/30/23) evening! We tried to give grace to the young girl who seemed to be alone waiting tables. The wait was long-but we were ok with that. We ordered steaks that were to be served with the "vegetable of the day"-which we were told was asparagus. As the lone waitress waited on all the tables-she was crying most of the time! Again-we tried to be patient-and it seemed most of the other patrons were trying to do the same! When our food finally arrived-our steaks were served with an unknown "vegetable melody". When we asked what it was-the waitress said she didn't know! We saw other tables trying to decipher what it was as well! It was not edible! The steaks were just ok!! I ordered a salad which arrived with about half of the ingredients listed! The dinner was certainly not worth the $70+ price! We did leave an acceptable tip-thinking this young girl was in way over her head and should not have been left there alone. It will be impossible to recommend this place or to consider going back! It seems there is great opportunity in this location-but it clearly misses the mark! We never saw a manager or anyone else for that matter (with the brief exception of a bartender when we first arrived). I wouldn't be surprised to know that the young (crying) waitress was also the cook! I don't feel like we should have even been charged for this disaster of an evening! read more

Pretty quaint older hotel. Very clean considering its age and super low cost! We managed to pick up a 2 bedroom apartment for under 130! That's just crazy!! And it even had a full kitchen with stove and full size fridge. It was a little odd that they say "if you don't do your dishes it's $100 bucks", but in the long run, who cares, I'll wash my own dishes easily :) the place had the "older hotel smell", but we lit a candle and all was good. NO SMOKING is a God send though. Hate smoke smelly rooms! All and all not bad at all, but the price really made it great. Oh and the staff were super cool and friendly. :) read more

I was really looking forward to a weekend away with my husband.. we checked into this place and I wasn't too impressed. We left to have dinner and when it was time for bed is when I really grossed out! It was already 10:30 when I noticed blood on the comforter!! I am laying in this bed so grossed out right now! All I can think of is I wish I was home in my own bed.. and the worst is that we have another night here. I'm hoping that I can fall asleep and tomorrow move elsewhere!.. did I mention the filthy chairs that I would be afraid to sit on? Or the dirty pillows that are on the bed for decor? No, no, no. Our family stayed here for a 3 night ski trip to Red River. Due to my poor planning, everything in Red River was booked so I figured that since Laguna was just a short, scenic drive to Red River that it would work. We stayed in the "lodge"which is essentially an old motel. The room was outdated, beds were not comfortable and there was definitely not enough storage space. The walls were paper thin. We could hear the people next to us and above us so clearly. The first day, a gentlemen asked me if we needed anything for our room. I requested a few towels and he arrived quickly with them. I didn't realize the towels were in lieu of cleaning service. The next day, a lady asked me if we needed anything for our room and I asked if they provide cleaning service and she replied yes. I told her we would be leaving in a few minutes and she could come then. Instead she brought some towels and left. We ate breakfast at the restaurant that had just reopened. The server was very friendly and the breakfast was decent. We ate a couple of times at the saloon, staff was very unfriendly and overwhelmed. When we asked if we could order an appetizer, the bartender told us that they were not taking any food orders because they were too busy. Seriously? There was like 15 people on the small saloon. Don't be fooled into thinking this is a cute little town. Go to Red River. read more

The motel was great! Super clean, great water pressure and room didn't have any weird smell. We would totally stay here again. We had a great view of the mountains and lake from the bathroom window. They even let our dog stay here with us. We forgot our pack and play at home for the baby and they had one for us to use. That was even really clean and not stained. The cutest thing about the room was the tiny rubber duckie that they leave on the bathtub. My kids enjoyed playing with that. read more

Horrible place! My family and I come once a year for the forth of July and have always stayed at this location. Never had many complaints until this year. Maids came in, didn't clean, and never changed the sheets. Towards the last couple days of our trip we were covered in very itchy bites and come to find out we had brought bed bugs back to our home! Never going back. read more

We enjoyed our short stay in Eagle Nest at Laguna Vista Lodge. We were there at the beginning of their off season so it was very quiet. The cabin we had was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed our view of the lake and the mountains. Great place to stay! read more

Stayed here while skiing in angel fire. Research showed me this was the best value especially when looking for something with connecting rooms. Went with a group of four and got two bedroom. Had plenty of room. I would suggest a mirror to be added in side room. Beds aren't very comfortable and strange knocking sound all night we think had to do with heater. Overall though for value it was an enjoyable stay. read more

This is my favorite place to stay. Very cozy and comfortable cabins. Very clean and a well run motel or cabins. A great variety of different room types. Our cabin this time had a private porch and fire pit. Easy parking right in front of your room. We stay here every summer. read more

My wife and I spent 4 nights with Laguna Vista Lodge in August. We stayed in a deluxe cabin which was a nice clean cabin. We were very happy with the accommodations Eagle Nest is much quieter and more laid back than most of the area towns but Red River, Taos, and Angel Fire are all only short drives away for shopping and other recreational activities. We will be staying with them again if possible. Prices for their cabins are very reasonable for a little get away trip. The Lodge has a restaurant and saloon and there are several other restaurants within short walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay with Laguna Vista. read more

No soap in room, and rather than bringing some up, the staff says we can come down to the office to pick some up. WiFi doesn't work.
