This is a great box for vacation drop ins. Their website is easy to use to sign waiver, sign up for a class and pay. Makes it much easier when you get there. Place was clean and coaches were great. Good warm up, stretches. This will be a must for our annual Kaanapali vacation. Great selection of class times early in the morning so you can get your sweat on while 1/2 the family is still sleeping. read more

Great box to visit when you're here on vacation or if you live in the area. I've been here multiple times with my sister since we've been here on vacation last year and this year and I can't say enough great things. Anthony, the owner/main coach, is very personable, funny, and friendly. Even though the box is very busy, he finds the time to talk to you throughout the workout to see how you're doing. The community here is like a close knit family which I love and everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The WOD starts off usually with a strength portion and then a metcon (metabolic conditioning). For instance, the strength portion may be squats and then the metcon might be 4 rounds of 400m run and 50 squats. Anthony leads a group warm up and then goes over/demonstrates the technique of the strength portion to ensure everyone knows what they're doing and won't hurt themselves. I highly recommend coming here if you're on vacation and looking for a box or if you're new to crossfit and want to mix up your workouts. My g/f & I crossfit regularly (4-5days a week) in San Diego (CFPB/Pacific Beach) and we had planned our vacation to Maui & wanted to try a new box & get 1 solid workout while on vaca. I yelped "maui crossfit" and found a few, turns out Lahaina CF was just about 5 or so miles from the resort so that turned out to be our deciding factor and we're thrilled it turned out that way. I went on their website which showed their schedule and we hit the 9am on friday morning. We got there just a couple mins after 9 after we got turned around a bit, met Anthony (owner) and he was super nice...we were initially surprised at the amount of people at 9am..guessing 25'ish. We got right to work after signing the typical paperwork, everyone was very nice, friendly, and welcoming. We did the typical sort of power clean intial work out and then the wod was no joke, 2 rounds of: 50 toes to bar 50 walking lunges 50 kbs 50 wall balls Afterwards we took some group pics, bought some gear, and chatted w/ many there.....ended up making some friends that we met throughout the vacation and many even hooked us up at our resort & at a luau. I rarely write reviews on Yelp! but want to express my deepest thanks and appreciation to this amazing box. While in Maui this weekend, a friend and I were welcomed with open arms by Anthony and the rest of the crew at Lahaina Crossfit. We attended two WODs - a Tuesday evening (4pm) and Wednesday morning (8am). Both classes were full and fantastic, but I still got individual attention during the strength portion. The programming seems well thought out and I appreciated the instruction and progressions presented prior to the WOD. (Also got some awesome dinner recommendations that we took and loved - Kimos) Great facility, great community and great WODs. I would recommend this box to anyone and can't wait to come back and visit their great place again! They even have a little play pen area for kids, which I imagine would come in pretty handy. read more

Tom and Janelle got me into CrossFit during a Beach Fit workout at the Westin a couple of years ago and I look forward to going to their box every time we're in Maui. Their new facility is awesome (it's huge, plenty of room, etc.), they are GREAT coaches, and they've created a very welcoming environment for both drop-ins and their regular members (everyone is super cool). It's a perfect mix of challenging programming and a fun environment. I can't think of a better way to start my day in Maui than a WOD at Lahaina CrossFit! Not gonna lie....I kinda wish this was my home box. They could not have been more accommodating. They greeted me as soon as I stepped foot into the box, answered all of my questions, made sure I was comfortable, made sure my son was comfortable hanging out, I was immediately introduced to the coaches, they made sure I knew how to complete the workout, had a partner for one of the WODs, and so much more. I even had several of the regulars cheering me on! I felt so welcomed!!! Now for the actual gym itself. State of the art! For starters I have to say I don't do crossfit. My husband does. But I do like intense cardio routines. While on vacation he did the standard WODs and told me they had a cardio crossfit class. So I tried it. This class was amazing. It was like ultimate man aerobics. I didn't count but I'd say there were 2/3 men to 1/3 women and it was both fun and vigorous. The leader (I don't remember his name, darn it!) was perfect. He was super powerful and encouraging, gently fierce even. The workout started with no joke quick intervals of 30 seconds on serious cardio/body weight exercises, some I had never done (like wide stance push ups). There were several rounds of different exercises with stretching at the end. EVERYONE was sweating. And I was sore for a couple days... THANK YOU! You all are wonderful! Now my problem is trying to find the same thing at home! read more

Was here for 2 weeks as a drop in from California. I've been a part of a box at home for over 3 years and always feel that no other box could POSSIBLY be as great as my home box. I was sorely mistaken! LCF is one of the greatest places on the island!!! I actually looked forward to getting up early and heading in. Tom and Janelle have a top notch establishment- friendly, accommodating, and so SO welcoming! Not to mention Tom, Janelle and the other trainer (I'm so sorry I forgot her name!!) give you the attention you need even in a full class. Took my orientation to Crossfit with the original owner of Lahaina Crossfit in 2012 An awesome and outstanding experience especially after beating myself up at XTERRA Maui I have continued to go there through the years every time I travel from Canada. Last summer I discovered the business had been sold so I decided to try another box that was much closer to our place Discovered more of what I don't like about Crossfit in this new experience Decided to make the long drive up to Lahaina to try it out. Was welcomed, engaged and motivated by great staff. The energy was still what I had experienced with the old team and made my stay absolutely enjoyable. Good, clean facility. I went to a Wed 6AM class, and it was run very efficiently. Coach was good about assessing participants during the warm ups to determine limiting factors without holding things up. Would like to have seen a bit more active coaching during the actual strength and conditioning session, but perhaps that has more to do with the community (they just came to sweat, bro!) than the coach himself. Tips: You can catch a mountain sunrise if you hit the 6AM class. Book your drop-in online at least the night before and save $5. Parking lot is small, but there's plenty of spots along the road. read more

We dropped in at Lahaina Crossfit while we were on our honeymoon and loved it so much we went twice & wished we could have gone more! Coaches and members were super friendly & welcoming, the box itself looks great/clean, energy was fun and motivating, and the coaches were very knowledgeable and personable. We were comfortable and got some awesome wods in- the programming there is definite quality. Parking was easy, signing up for the drop-in was easy, and finding it was also easy- its very accessible. They have great apparel & we bought a few t-shirts to keepsake our visits there. When we return to Maui, we wouldn't think about going anywhere else. My sister and I dropped into Lahaina CrossFit for an early morning workout while we were visiting Maui and right away, I could tell that the environment was super warm and welcoming. While I've dropped into gyms in and around the islands, a lot of my classes are usually filled with visitors, but majority of the people in my class were locals! Everyone that I talked to in my short time there really made an effort to get to talking to me, and I really felt the aloha spirit when we were doing the workout. As someone who really appreciates a structured class that has a warm-up, strength segment, and a workout, the class was well-organized and ran efficiently. There was scaling options, as well as a scale-up option! My class was sort of on the larger side, but I appreciated hearing Janelle encourage everyone who was doing the workout the entire time. Was just visiting Maui for a week and needed a place to do squats. Initially had a hard time finding the place because Google Maps had the location slightly off. It was further down the street (near Star Noodle). That being said, I showed up late to the 9am class which was packed but running smoothly. I could tell the coaches have a lot of experience handling visitors in general. Half the class was spilling outdoors but no complaints there. After all, it's Maui! Also looked like there was plenty of equipment to accommodate everyone. If I hadn't had gimpy wrists and had appropriate shoes (only brought my oly's), I would've joined in the WOD that morning Everyone at Lahaina Crossfit was amazing! Absolutely warm and welcoming. Even though Anthony was coaching a zillion people, he managed to speak to me and make sure I was set up to do what I needed to do. I highly recommend this place if you're in town!!! read more

Came here w/ a group of friends on vacation as per the yelp reviews. The owners were beyond welcoming, and wods were always great! Did a day by day pass, and eventually came back for the whole week! Garage looking crossfit gym away from street noise and overlooking the west maui mountains. Taking advantage of a week trial to see if I like it and better still if I can handle it. Anthony, the owner, very nice & friendly. Attentive to what you do during the session and corrects as needed. Does not push you to sign up, very casual and I love it. The team spirit during the session was of a community, I found it inspiring. I still feel 140 $ a month is a bit much even if it's unlimited. I have paid slightly more in NYC for Equinox and we are talking about a nation-wide luxury gym with a million perks. Still, I am thinking about it. My hubby and I dropped in for a week at Crossfit Lahaina during our vacay. This gym is so cool, everyone is so kind and welcoming. Their programming is kick ass... initially we thought we might want to do the wods from our home gym but we ended up doing CF Lahaina's work outs all week. They also have all the toys you might not get to play with at your own gym--- I had a theory that the ski erg might be fun...that was incorrect. The athletes are very friendly and we always feel welcome coming back as visitors. The facility and equipment are kept up well and the location is convenient for visitors.
