No explanation as to why you did this after you've been with them for years. I get all insurance companies have issues, but this is by no means a junky plan. It is actually the premium PPO plan our large communication company offers. So we pay EXTRA for it!! Have never had an issue with this insurance being out of network ANYWHERE, so congratulations you will be the first. No apology given what-so-ever for throwing this on us three weeks before the end of the year and right before Christmas. Thank you for that. Finding a new dentist for my kids (which obviously I am now) right before the holidays is super high on my list of things I want to be doing. Really disappointed in this. Tucson Smiles does allow parents in the back but they act like it is a huge inconvenience and stuck me in a very uncomfortable chair in a tight space behind an xray arm. They gave me a sheet that stated I wasn't to talk to anyone during the visit or be on my phone.. Both dentist were very nice to my kids. They truly seemed to care about their patients and did not want them to be afraid but on several occasions kids could be heard crying from the waiting room. I'd been with our previous dentist for a decade and only hear crying once and it was from a kid that was upset about getting in the chair. That isn't very reassuring when you tell me you prefer if my child goes back for their procedures alone. I had been told before we left our previous dentist that my child had a dark spot on a baby tooth but didn't recommend fixing because it wasn't yet a cavity and was due to fall out in the next year. Tucson smiles recommended filling the area anyway just in case. When I explained I'd rather just wait for areas that were not yet through the top layer for teeth that were already wiggly she got annoyed and wouldn't make eye contact. They do have TV's in the room but they keep the volume on mute which means the kids still have the drill sound. Seems like that would be an advantage to having the sound on. Maybe provide headphones?

They find "cavities" so they need to charge more (yes, even on three-year-olds) - please get a second opinion, especially on your children's teeth. Then, they will send you a random bill YEARS after the fact with no information on it and expect you to pay after you've already paid thousands for the "care" that did more damage than you started with. After taking x-rays and consulting with Dr. Bollard, they determined I needed another deep cleaning. So they didn't even do my biannual cleaning since they wanted me to schedule the deep cleaning at a cost to me of $780. I will not be going back.
