I really enjoyed finally getting some work done here. I believe it's the prettiest and most chill dental office I've ever been too. The ambient light and artwork creates such a relaxing environment. I had Dr. Fowler and he was patient, addressing each of my concerns and follow up questions. I forgot the hygienists name, but she was very positive and friendly each time. I also appreciated how quickly they were able to get me in and complete everything over 3 appointments in a month. Really soothing place. Desert Dental did a fantastic job! A crown from a different dentist broke in half. They replaced it with zero pain!!! Also, the visit was fast. I highly recommend this dentist office. I think my dentists name was Dr Fowler. 2 thumbs up!!! read more

At my last visit in October 25, there were many new faces. Dr. Hall had moved on. Dr, Barney had been absent for years. I kept my appointments because I like my hygienist. I was told that the other two locations had closed.and a consultant had been hired. Next appointment with Becky is now with Rebekah. A different person. I was told my hygienist was no longer there. I have been going to Desert Dental Group since moving to Rita Ranch in 1997! Absolutely love the office and staff. The hygienists are all super gentle and take their time to clean and polish your teeth. I've got problems with TMJ and they truly make it the most comfortable for that. Dr. Barney has been my dentist and all 3 of my kids wound go also. My children are grown now and have moved out of State, they literally will schedule an appointment for cleaning when they come home to visit. - that says a Lot! Dr. Barney, & now Dr Hall have never tried to get me to do procedures just to "make money" for them. They are honest and friendly and I would never go to anyone else!! 5 read more

Dr. Hall is a great dentist. The problem I encountered is the scheduling/billing areas. Scheduling has failed to provide the Doctor with the "Reason" for the visit, hence a wasted opportunity to resolve the issue followed by another visit. Secondly, I sense chaos within the Billing area. I would not have experienced these issues if it were a smaller and more cohesive scheduling/billing unit. They will tell you anything in order to get you "off their back". read more

Customer service is awful! The dentist was nice enough but dealing with scheduling and the front desk staff was awful. They don't do what they say and give conflicting information for records, appointments and billing. The disorganization, gaslighting and negligence is off the charts! I had to block their number to stop them from sending text messages after repeatidly requesting they stop talking to me via text message. When I went somewhere else for a second opinion I also found they reccomended me for a bunch of things I didn't need. Just awful! read more

I booked an appointment as a new patient several weeks ago. I had visited the office to schedule the appointment and introduce myself. Emily had helped me out and was courteous. On 4/9/14 I arrived 7 minutes before my 3:40P appt. The receptionist didn't say a word until I greeted her. She gave a half-hearted 'hi'. I introduced myself and gave my appt. time. She responded with, "Nicole will be with you shortly." A few minutes after my arrival another patient entered, checked in and sat down. In a matter of a few minutes she was summoned to the back. My curiosity as to how she was processed so quickly surprised me. At 3:55P Nicole entered the lobby with her patient and their goodbye conversation lasted a few minutes. All the while I was watching my clock wondering how much longer I would have to wait. After Nicole's patient left, Nicole went to the receptionist's area and sat in front of a computer, most likely completing her last patient's report. I could not make out the conversation but after a few minutes the receptionist asked me to come up to the desk to fill out the 'new patient' forms. I took the forms and began filling them out but then looked at my clock and it was 25 minutes into my appt. time. I decided that my first impression was so tainted that I didn't want to chance entering into a relationship where I may continue to be dissatisfied with the service. I returned to the counter, handed back the clipboard, and told both receptionist and Nicole that I was not going through with the appointment. Both gave me a blank stare but said nothing as I exited. Seeing as how these two employees not only provided unsatisfactory service, neither took the initiative to offer an apology. Knowing they had my phone number I even gave it a day to see if someone would call. No call, so they get my review instead. I may be too harsh in my judgement but given that there are dozens of dental practices to choose from, I want to make sure that I am completely satisfied with my choice. Perhaps this can be a learning experience for all. read more

The staff was nice enough. The dentist on the other hand seems like he's more interested in making money and selling "extras". I had fillings done and he didn't explain anything to me. Basically did the deed and threw the tools down and said "done" *mic drop*. Then left. I had to pry after care instructions from the staff. It's been two weeks and my teeth still hurt, so I'm about to find another dentist for a second opinion. My wife had a similar experience. When she stopped him from injecting a needle into her mouth and simply asked what exactly he was doing, he replied "do you wanna do this or not?". Her teeth are also in far more pain than she has ever had at a dentist. We are both comparing him to the dentist from "Little Shop of Horrors". So I hope you get the idea. The building and staff were great though. The dentist just needs some serious customer service training. read more

I have avoided dental treatments for a decade or two, but this year I am getting everything done because I love Desert Dental. The front office ladies are kind and helpful and Dr. Barney is the BEST. He is funny and personable and makes sure that you are as comfortable as possible. I had my wisdom teeth taken out the day before Thanksgiving and they called me on Thanksgiving (a holiday) to make sure I was doing ok. When I did have a minor complication, I came straight to the office with no appointment and they helped me almost immediately. I can't recommend them enough! read more

Visited as new patient month ago. I had a cleaning, one decay and two crowns and all treatment was done professionally and pain free. Each crown was done at the same appt and with Bretts expertise with the computer renditions feel great. I've been coming to Desert Dental for many years now and every time, I walk away happy. I've had two different hygienists and both have been very pleasant to chat with, so professional and friendly. And each one has apologized for the pain they see me going through when they are helping me with the bite wing xrays. I love the atmosphere here. They've done an excellent job in decor and construction (I have been a client since before they had this building). Back when my daughter's crowns were broken off, he helped her with getting other molds and placed a new crown. It was exceptional work for when she was a young toddler. Every time I've had a chat with him after the regular cleaning, it was always nice. And those times that he suggested a procedure, he never pressured me in the least bit when I declined. I really like that. The last thing I care for is someone pressuring me after I say No. I feel very comfortable to continue coming back! read more

So disappointed in this office. We've been patients here for 4 years and have been happy. We've referred many friends and family, most of which felt like they were being ripped off, and were unhappy with the front desk staff. We never felt like that until recently when we were charged $70 in addition to our co-pay. I received a bill, and when I called to question it, I was told it was because the insurance companies were paying less as a result of our down economy. The woman said she was certain I owed the money without even looking into it to see if they had made an error. After hours on the phone with my insurance companies, I had found several errors on desert dentals behalf. I was even advised to file a complaint with the state dental board. It was a total run around to finally speak to the person in charge of billing. She was extremely rude, and even suggested that we were trying to "make money" off of them. By the end of the conversation, she insisted I owed .80 cents and refused to write it off. So, now I'm writing a check for .80 cents. Unbelievable. Poor customer service, and check your bills!!! We won't be going back. read more

Dr. Barney IS the best dentist ever in my honest opinion. I was terrified of dentists after some really bad experiences, but Dr. Barney alleviates those fears. I really can't say enough. If there is a place to vote, I would vote Dr. Barney tops. The staff is kind and knowledgeable as well. I went to him first over ten years ago, and have been very happy with his work. It is very clean and cozy in the office. I have been to other dentists in the Rita Ranch area, but he is the very best. Wish I hadn't tried to cut corners on more affordability because it has cost me dearly in the loss of a tooth, and in the loss of two teeth that my husband lost at a neighboring dental office, and he did not give permission for that office to pull his teeth, he just wanted them filled, it never would have happened at Dr. Barney's office. You know what to expect and it is done right. No surprises, unless it is a good surprise. I have had good surprises happen with this office. They were able to whiten my teeth when all other products failed! Great dentist and staff! read more
