One was selected and the the cake was ordered. There were many flavors to choose from and we ended up with pistachio with vanilla w/ raspberry compote in layer one and the second layer with pistachio buttercream. The buttercreams were delicious and light and the cake was moist. Definitely quality ingredients are used. All in all, we will come back when we need another cake. Highly recommend giving this bakery a try. It's worth it !

She didn't rush us, took time to listen and wrote everything down in great details. She also gave us a quote up front and let us make a decision. She also has a hidden bathroom staircase, which was a really fun story! Overall, great impressions and would love to come in just to get some baked goods next time!

There are a variety of selections here including: oreo, reese pieces, chocolate almond, coconut lime, M&M, red velvet and skor. Each biscotti is $3 each or you can purchase 2 for $5. Though they are softer, and very creative, It's on the sweeter side, so if you're someone who ADORES sweet things, come here. I also purchased their snowballs for $6 for a fair sized bag. I thought it was pretty delicious, although sweet, the powder and the dough inside was delicious. I think they should definitely promote more of these sweets! In London, I enjoyed Chick Cake Boss and when I came to Hamilton, I went to Bitten. However, none quite lived up to D'Liche, or even the Cupcake Shoppe...until Beyond the Batter. We ended up with an assortment of flavours that not only sound delicious but look lovely. Work fast though because my brother got to the shop about 2.5 hours after they opened and a few flavours were already sold out. He got home with the cupcakes while my sister was on a work call. We are impatient though so we decided to try a cupcake anyways and just grabbed the one we knew she'd have no interest in - Macaroon, a coconut cake cupcake topped with chocolate frosting rolled in toasted coconut. We split it and both fell in love at first bite. My brother is not a frosting fan so for him cupcakes are all about the cake and he has been raving about how light and fluffy, yet flavourful the cake was all afternoon. As for me, I love frosting and cake and the flavours were just so spot on and rich that I was happy. Often frosting/icing can be end up tasting like icing sugar above all else but that wasn't the case here at all. When my sister got off her call, we went in for a second - Men are from Mars, a chocolate cupcake topped with malt frosting dipped in a chocolate shell with a caramel centre. It sounds like a lot but once again they nailed each flavour and they all worked together so well. I normally avoid chocolate cakes but this one was delicious and I'd definitely recommend. In fact, I'd recommended everything I've tried thus far and I'm sure that opinion isn't about to change.

The ganache on top was very smooth and not overly sweet, the. and 2 layers of cake were vanilla and chocolate. The vanilla layer was not crumbly and was delicate. The chocolate layer was moist and complimented the rest of the cake. It is a 4" mini cake and would make a good dessert for one or can be shared with another person for just to satisfy a small sweet tooth craving. Service was fast and attentive. The staff member was hired help and not the owner but was friendly and smiled while serving customers. It is appreciated to have staff like him. The ambiance is a cafe and was brightly lit and you felt welcomed and there was zero pressure to buy more or buying just one item for the 2 of us to share. We did have to ask for a spoon though. Otherwise we will come back another time for another little treat. Maybe even try a veal sandwich if they have them. *note* i don't give a perfect 5 stars score generally for any my reviews unless the eatery has done exceeded my expectations and have showed to be exemplary in the food, service and an impressive ambiance.

They have pies, apple fritters, jam preserves, frozen savoury pies, honey, cookies, and a lot of other baked goods and what not. Pies come in small or large size. First time we bought two smalls and thought we would slowly eat one at home and share the other with friends. We thought wrong! Devoured both before we even left Burlington Hamilton area!! This time, we got two again: apple crumble and raspberry. We went around 3pm and many flavours were running low or out of stock. I highly recommend getting any of the crumble pies because the crumble is a chewy, full of texture layer on top of the pie versus a normal pie crust top. Our friends ordered different flavours so we had a nice time trying each other's by the picnic tables outside. So far my top choices are any of the crumble (apple, peach, rhubarb, and others) and then it would be the berry ones. I love a little bit of tartness!
