But I'm not going to assume anything. The "head" lady didn't see me. It seemed to be the other lady (close to the store window). I wish I knew her name. I regularly go for my eyebrow threadings, which are 11$ (!!), and also like to go wax my legs every now and then with Laila. First, let me just tell you Laila is amazing! I was in and out in 5 mites. A Brazilian usually takes me at least 15 minutes. She only had to do the sugar mixture on each section once (a total of 4 sections) so my skin isn't to sly raw from the repeated pulling. She was super friendly, clean, professional, and incredibly efficient. There's almost always some little straggler hair and she was able to get all of it done in just 4 sweeps!! She also put tea tree oil and another kind of oil to help calm the irritation of my skin. It's been 20 minutes and my soreness is completely gone! In addition to the best waxing experience I've ever had, I accidentally made an appointment for the wrong day and she was willing to squeeze me in today because I don't live in town. First off I debated leaving a review for a few days now. I don't know if it was me , a bad day, or just unfortunate luck , but my experience here was just not up to par with the 5 star reviews . So first off I just moved to the area so of course I had to find a new wax lady (Brazilian) . While searching I noticed this place has ALLLLL 5 STAR REVIEWS !!!! That's rare so of course I read through and ended up choosing to go with this establishment. I made an appointment for Friday early afternoon , so they had a decent amount of customers (mostly eyebrows from what I could tell) so I ended up having to wait about 15/20 minutes even with my appointment. Ok so first off the room that I was waxed in was fairly dim (first issue) . The actual wax was quick ( that's what she's known for) , not a problem. But for me it seemed that she was so focused on getting done quick that the wax really wasn't done with care or precision. She literally spread the wax on me and started ripping it off as quick as she could . NEVER held pressure over the area after she pulled the strip up, I guess that slows down the process, (second issue) so yea the wax was fairly painful. I will say she's really nice though. She talks to try to keep you engaged and not focused on the pain and she definitely kept letting me know that she'd be done in about two minutes. And she also let me know that she was OCD about leaving hair so that made me even happier ! YES MAAM ! Get it allllllll. So when she started threading I just KNEW I was about to be smooth smooth !!! Honestly the stars that I did give were for her as person (not the service) . So when all was said and done she gave me a mirror and I'm not gone lie when I was lying down , still kinda in pain it LOOKED like a job well done (remember I said the room was dim .....) . So I tipped () and left . Unfortunately when I got home under actual light I realized I had SO MANY HAIRS left over . A nice patch on my libia as well. I'm not gone lie I really could have just shaved and gotten better results . They DO have a 24 hour touch up policy tho so I ended up sending an email and letting her know the situation ASAP . This was literally 20 mins after I left her shop. And I also left a message via the portal on her website. I ended up receiving a call back that night but unfortunately I was already sleep and missed the call. When I woke the next morning I saw the missed call but honestly I didn't even go back because I was still kinda raw down there and didn't want to deal with the pain again . I just took the L. So all in all because she do have good reviews I'm sure it was just a bad day for her, but I did want to leave an honest experience for you guys . Me being a dark skin girl, I would say if you're of a darker complexion make sure you check your results with the flash on your camera when she hands you the mirror because it def looked good in that dim lighting but yea just do a once over with the flash. Also her prices are good so luckily I didn't waste too much money . If it wasn't my private area I would have attached photos so y'all could see what I'm talking about. I'd honestly rather continue spending the extra $10 and 7 mins at European Wax center and actually get a smooth low pain wax. UPDATE (5 days later) : Laila reached out to me again so I ended up going back in for the touch up. I can say that she does take pride in her work and value her customers. I never had an established continuously reach out to correct their mistakes. She ended up going back over the entire area even tho it was only certain spots that she initially missed . She also clarified that the 24 hour touch up policy is extended for Brazilians due to the area's sensitivity. All in all my experience was great !! She's such a nice soul . This was my first time coming here because i have a beach trip coming up and needed a bikini wax (keeping in mind i haven't had one since i was 15 years old nearly 6 years ago). I don't do much down there so the actual waxing job i'm sure is much easier given the length of the hair (i have read in the past that shorter hair can be more challenging) but it does hurt quite a bit more when the hair is longer so keep that in mind. the pain was excruciating but i am also very very sensitive down there given the fact that i haven't waxed or done anything similar in years but i was extremely surprised and pleased to find that the overall after pain didn't last long at all. the last time i had it done it hurt for a couple of days and stung but over an hour later and it is still a little red but overall feels pretty good. she did a great job encouraging me during the process given how nervous and how sensitive i was and made sure to do it quick but still properly. eyebrow threading was absolutely amazing i have 0 complaints and love the eyebrows but i'm sure you can tell based on the reviews she does a good job. I had a great experience at Laila's. I went for a Brazilian after searching endlessly online and already having one bad experience after moving here and found Laila. She is the best. The wax she uses is organic and homemade by Laila herself. She also uses lavender and witch hazel to soothe the skin afterward. First experience with threading. If I could give her more than 5 stars I would. I've been told threading hurts more than waxing but it's painless. It didn't hurt at all and my brows look so good. She helped me fix what my original waxer had ruined. She made my brows more symmetrical and is helping me create more of an equal arch on each brow.
