I really just want to thank Lainee Meg for such a great experience. This really was that "in the movies" experience that you envision when going to pick out your wedding dress. The location is absolutely adorable and truly is your one stop shop with all the options. There really is a dress for everyone here. Your group will get a room to sit at and enjoy some champagne while watching you trying on dresses. They have a great and easy process for you to go around the room of dresses and put a ring on the hanger of the dresses you want to try on. They are also great about hearing what your price range is and what sort of style you want (lace, beads, color, etc). There is also a very large selection of dresses here to try on (for plus sizes as well). The girl who helped me (I apologize, I'm forgetting her name!) was the best! She was not pushy to buy anything at all, knew exactly what sort of dresses I would like and wouldn't like, and was able to target the perfect dress for me that was in my price range. Very friendly and personable and made me feel very comfortable. I had such a great experience here and would highly recommend anyone coming here. The staff was AMAZING. We didn't feel rushed at all and they really took the time to understand what you were looking for and help you find the perfect dress. I went to several highly reviewed shops in Seattle before ending up at LaineeMeg. The other shops were okay, but none had the fantastic selection of dresses or the calm and inviting atmosphere that LaineeMeg had. This shop also had by far the best staff. They have fewer dresses than some of the other shops, which makes it nice because then you only see the best selection. I appreciated that we didn't have to dig through stuffed racks crammed with dresses, and that when you tell the team what you like, they help give suggestions. This shop also doesn't try to stack in tons of appointments all at once, which is nice so that you don't get the peanut gallery (some other girl's family telling you what they like/hate about your dress). Also appreciated being able to take pictures (it's amazing that other places won't let you!), and I really liked the knowledgeable owner and her fun personality. I bought my dress here and one of my friends also just bought a dress a few months after me. Both of us are very pleased with the shop, dress selection, and the service we received. read more

I bought my gorgeous wedding dress here! The saleswoman is no longer with them, but she did a pretty good job- I didn't feel rushed or up-sold which was really nice. I didn't give them 5 stars because as soon as I bought my dress at the Bothell location, they closed that store :( we then had to drive to Snohomish from Seattle for all future appointments and fittings. All in all, this was not that terrible- just a bit inconvenient. The real winner here is Christina, the alternations woman with Lainee Meg. She is a real pro and was super fun to work with. She's a professional who know's her way around a dress and made me feel really comfortable, understood my requests and was fun to be around. The dress came in super early, about 1.5 months after I purchased it. The sash took a little bit longer, but was in way before the wedding. read more

If I could give Laineemeg more stars, I would! To start, I purchased my own wedding dress here back in 2014. The consultants were knowledgeable and kind, all while respecting my budget. Zerlinda is awesome! I went to LaineeMeg twice to try on wedding gowns, once with a friend, and the second time alone. Shopping for a wedding dress alone can be pretty daunting, but Zerlinda was great! She even took pictures of the dress I wanted since no one else was there to do so. The first time I went shopping at LaineeMeg, it was just and friend and me, but we got the whole experience, picking a bunch of dresses to try, drinks, and fun. Zerlinda latched onto my style and was able to pull dresses that I hadn't seen. When I left the first time, I had a favorite in mind, but still had a dream in my head. Fast forward a month and they get in new styles, and the dress of my dreams. It took all of 15 minutes to compare it to my previous favorite and know the new one was the one! I wanted the whole champagne-with-your-bridal-party dress-shopping experience, but I am a size 28, out here on the far end of plus size. I put off dress-shopping for as long as humanly possible because I didn't think it would be humanly possible. Even David's Bridal stops at 26. Another place would order large sizes for me but had nothing bigger than a 20 to try on. Then I stumbled across the LaineeMeg website, which said they had samples up to size 36. It was hard to believe but I booked an appointment. The experience was everything I wanted and more, from the blushing bubbly when my bridal party and I arrived to the number of dress styles I got to try on. The best part was Zerlinda, the owner. She was funny and straightforward and made sure I saw all of my options. I fell in love with the second dress, but she brought me other styles and silhouettes to try just to be sure. She had me try the second dress again, and it was perfect. After I'd put down a deposit, she took a picture of my friends and me and gave me a small box of little gifts. Zerlinda did everything possible to make me feel special, and I never felt like my size was even an issue. It was an amazing day. You should definitely visit this shop, especially if you're a larger woman. read more

I visited a total of four bridal stores (3 downtown Seattle + Laineemeg) while on a wedding dress shopping mission in Seattle and Laineemeg was the best experience, hands down, and where I found my dress! What really made this shop stand out from the "big name" places downtown was the super comfortable atmosphere, how knowledgeable and helpful Zerlinda was, and their amazing dresses for a very reasonable price point. Their shop is small in a great way- both times I was there I was the only bride. They have bridesmaids/formal wear in separate area of the shop, but it seems like they only book one bride at once which is really nice for feeling comfortable and checking yourself out in the big mirror! I had a very small budget, and they never made me feel like I didn't have enough to spend- a big change from some of the other places I visited. When you start your appointment, they give you an opportunity to pick out any dresses you like, but the dress I ended up loving was actually one Zerlinda pulled after I tried a few that were beautiful, but just not perfect for my shape. Definitely worth the drive to Snohomish, especially if you want a one-on-one experience and a super friendly environment for trying on dresses. read more

Throughout wedding planning my bridesmaids had all told me that the dress would be the most fun...but time consuming. They were half right. :) I made an appointment at From the Gown Up and was excited that they only serve one bride at a time. Although Zerlinda was not my consultant, she introduced herself and conversed with my bridesmaids as I was trying on dresses. Both her and her lovely employee picked out great dresses and added excellent touches and opinions along the way. Needless to say when my appointment was up I had purchased a fantastic dress and was giddy with excitement. In addition to their excellent customer service,the price of the dress and alterations were great as well. (The lady who does alterations for the shop is simply delightful and precise.) My dress shopping experience was all around fantastic. I had expectations going in to this: 1. Great customer service 2. Variety and quality of dresses 3. Great vibe and prices. I had my expectations exceeded. So much so that I had one of my bridesmaids come in to find and fit a dress for her as she had a different body type than the rest. I'd gone there expecting to get a lace dress and they had exactly what I asked for....The only thing was I fell in love with a satin dress there that was everything I originally said I didn't want! This is where I got my dress from and I seriously cannot wait to finally wear it! If you're looking for dresses that are gorgeous and not ordinary by any means, make sure to look here! It's a smaller store, but the selection is INCREDIBLE. What I LOVE about this place is each bride gets a room, so you never have to feel uncomfortable trying on dresses in front of some other bride's family and friends. It's an exclusive time for you and your girls! You feel like you are the only bride. The consultants are knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and they make you feel and look awesome. I came here with my future sis in law, and I thought the place was absolutely quaint & unique!! Although there was no champagne or strawberries, we received such personalized service. They only do one appointment at a time so you basically have the whole store to yourself! The location is cute, right in the middle of downtown Snohomish with a lovely view of the river & bridge. If you're flashy & trying to spend thousands of dollars on a dress, maybe this place isn't for you! The styles that I browsed through mostly have a classic vintage feel that was modern & timeless, with a lot of contemporary styles to choose from. The dresses I saw were very romantic! Most dresses were well below $1000 with just a few over the 2000 range or more. I don't know why there are so many bad reviews but I can see how girls can get all bridezilla. Being a guest & bridesmaid, the appointment never felt rushed. They consultant was patient, and gave great advice while most importantly, listened to the bride! She also would give the mother of the bride some time to shine too, so I thought that was a nice touch (you know how moms can be!). 1 lace dress was of exceptional quality. Not much variety. A lot of their dresses were outdated but definitely of higher quality than a chain like David's Bridal. Poor customer service. I clicked 3 dollar signs because I feel as if they were a bit pricey for what they were. No parking. Me and my girlfriends live South of Seattle but the Bride-to-Be was recommended by one of her girlfriends to make the lengthy trip way out to Snohomish just to try out dresses here. She was told that they took great care of her friends and even welcomed them to a champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries and cupcake treats. This had us all excited, especially since this was the first dress shop trip we were making. I pictured this to be a glamorous little boutique filled with gorgeous gowns, wall to wall carpeting and fancy soft seating to enjoy our champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries and cupcakes. We were rudely mistaken. Yes, it's a quaint little shop but it didn't seem as if they had tons of dresses available. Secondly, thank god there were just the three of us because there were only 2 chairs with an ottoman for each. At one point, i was sitting on one of their ottomans. Not comfortable whatsoever. No champagne. No chocolate dipped strawberries. No cupcakes. (did i forget to mention, there must've have been 3 cupcake boutiques within a 1 mile radius.. yes, ONE) All of their dresses were EXTREMELY large, which i guess is good, but at the same time, they had to use pillows to stuff on the backs of the dress in order for them to fit properly. It just looked hideous from behind and was hard to imagine how the dress would look. They also tried to accessorize with different hideous belts that just did not go whatsoever. I feel as if the ladies who were employed here should at least have had a minimum degree in apparel and merchandising because they do NOT know what compliments each other. They also didn't have any suggestions at all for us. They just showed us what we put the litlte 'rings' on that showed the dresses we wanted to try on. (These little 'rings' by the way, were beige shower curtain rings.. how classy) Bridesmaid dresses were even more outdated than the wedding dresses. It was SO difficult to try them on next to the bride, without being distracted by the type of design or uncomplimenting shape it had. One last thing, on our way out as she filled out her card to write down the names of the dresses we were interested in, they had the nerve to ask for her name! This was quite appalling. This was definitely the worst waste of gas and mileage ever used to find a wedding dress ever and I'm glad to say that the Bride-to-Be will not be purchasing her gown through them. read more

After a spur of the moment shopping trip to another store, my Mum suggested we see if Laineemeg had any appointments available the next day - luckily they did!! I found the most perfect dress for me that day and I am so happy we chose to visit the store! I loved all the dresses I tried on and couldn't believe it when I found the "right" dress! The customer service is amazing! Zerlinda and Jenn are fabulous and really make you feel special - even when they were super busy with a larger party, they still made myself and my Mum feel comfortable, were focused, and had amazing suggestions! I felt like a princess and a bride the whole time! We found our bridesmaid dresses at Jenn's part of the store, and she was really amazing at helping out the two bridesmaids that are actually in the country. Due to the rest of them being out of the state and country, Jenn worked with me and those bridesmaids on measurements and how to make sure everyone got their dresses! She had great suggestions! Jenn was also really helpful finding the most adorable dress and suit for my flower girl and ring bearer! I love love love this store and would highly recommended it! The only thing that would make it even better is the offer of a glass of champagne to each bride (there is an option to have a fitting package with champagne and cupcakes at an additional price) - buying your dress is a big deal and I think that would have completed the package for me! I have been engaged for three months and knew the dress would be a huge decision. I flew home for a family visit and my sister made an appointment! Going in I was nervous and timid that I wouldn't find anything or that nothing would fit me. Well... I was so wrong! Zerlinda was absolutely amazing and made me feel so comfortable immediately and I felt like we were friends for years! The first dress I tried on I instantly loved, like a sheer obsession for it! She made sure it was the right one by bringing in all styles for me to try- just to be sure! Well while every single dress was absolutely stunning, the one I chose, the first one, is a dream. First off, I have to say that all of the negative reviews on here are based on some form of miscommunication about what having a bridal fitting really means. #1: I somehow knew to bring my own appropriate underwear to a fitting. #2: I somehow knew that a special "Champagne Fitting" required a special reservation, that I was able to acquire (and was quite fun!) #3: I somehow knew that the wedding dresses come in one basic stock size (rather than multiple sizes?) meaning that for ME, the dresses were too small, but I was still able to get a good idea of what it would look like. #4: I somehow knew that any changes needed after your initial fitting would have to be done by an alterations expert, rather than through FTGU. So, I'm not sure what all these negative reviews are all about. Not everything is "Say Yes To The Dress," (aka catering to people who spend thousands of thousands), it's not a tv show, and I for one was extemely happy with my services at From the Gown Up. This being said, I purchased my wedding gown from this store in September, and just had my wedding this past Saturday. I went to the store knowing which dress I wanted and that they were the only store in the area that had that dress in stock. I found Zerlinda to be very easy to work with. She respected my limited budget, and let me and my "helpers" pick out whatever dresses we all wanted me to try on (even with already knowing which one I wanted, you have to try on a few to be sure.) The champagne and desserts was a really nice touch for my sisters and mom and now-husbands mom and my MOH. It was really easy to schedule the champagne brunch too, and it was really nice to have the whole store to ourselves!! They were even accommodating when I explained that my one sister would have to bring her baby along (who was luckily so well behaved! haha!) In the end, I did pick my original dress of choice, but I was more confident because they had me try on many different similar styles. Picking my dress back up when it was ready was no issue at all. I didn't end up using their alterations person, though, as I couldn't afford to be driving back and forth to Mukilteo from Seatac! And, on my wedding day, I couldn't have been happier! Like every other Newlywed, I should have written this much sooner- but life flies by! I was married last year and I had THE BEST experience with Lainee Meg Bridal. So much so that a dear friend has an appointment there this week! I tried on MANY dresses at several places with no luck. I started the dress hunt with an exact style/cut in mind that fit a certain look/theme. I thought it would be easier due to the fact that I had a clear idea of what I wanted. Man, was I wrong!!! The other places had a large selection but nothing that really felt special or unique. I pretty much looked like every other bride. On a whim, My sister-in-law and I made an appointment at Lainee Meg for the purpose of seeing what they had- I knew they carried a designer's line that i had been eyeing that I didn't see anywhere else. I never thought I was going to walk out with my dress!!! We show up and the attention was all on me- as the Bride, it's exactly what you look for. Let's be honest here! It is a boutique style shop in Historic Snohomish, and is absolutely charming! Excellent decor, great selection of accessories, and some really unique bridal shoes that were HOT (Tiffany blue pumps anyone? Full bling? They had it!)!! Anyways, they were warm and welcoming. It's overwhelming going through the process with so many dresses- they were calm, smiling, and supportive through it all! They give you hanger tags to mark the dresses you are interested in trying as you look through their inventory. I was surprised that we were choosing so many to try! Their inventory at the time was absolutely stunning. It was nowhere near what I had been seeing before! Very few of the common/typical styles and it seemed they carried unique designers who design dresses with a lot of detail, personal touches, and quality fabrics!!! The layout of the boutique is perfect! The main room has beautifully merchandised accessories, their racks of gowns, shoes, and the main dressing room. It has a sitting area with armchairs and a couch, a bridal pedestal, and huge mirrors! Everything I could have asked for! They also have a neighboring room with a dressing room, couch, and mirrors for a second bride- not as epic but also nice. I had alterations done in there and it was perfect. Private with my guests and alterations gal, but didn't take away from any bride that was trying gowns in the main area. Very separate and personalized. I wet through the gowns, lo and behold the last one was IT! The girls were very very helpful as my gown actually had 2 layers (a sexy fitted dress underneath for reception, and a lace overlay with train and sleeves for reception) and an insane amount of buttons. Small little buttons on both layers. Painstaking. Moving on- I said yes to the dress! It was so different with details like none I had seen before. I wanted to WOW people and it did the job! I also need to add a bit about their service: It was fantastic! I also didn't expect to be buying a dress right then, so they squeezed me in right at opening the very next day to allow me to try it on again at the shop to show my mom and sister for the same experience with them, even though i had technically already put down the deposit. That in itself had shown me that they cared for my experience and wanted to make their Brides feel truly special! I will forever send others there! I hope they're still in business If I ever decide to do a vow renewal ceremony in the future! Quick plus: You can make a cute day of it if you've never been to historic snohomish. I purchased a dress from this store today. Anna (I think that's how she spells it) was who assisted me this afternoon. She is great. She was helpful and gave me a lot of different styles to try on. It was difficult to pick one dress at first because they had so many beautiful dresses to choose from. Today was my first experience in shopping for my wedding dress and I have to say that it was nothing short of AMAZING!! As you walk in you are instantly in awe of all of the beautiful dresses and layout of the shop! Zerlinda was so sweet and an absolute pleasure to work/shop with! She greeted us with a smile and treated us with a one on one appointment. It felt like you were a celebrity that had decided to shut down the store to shop! One of my best friends got her wedding dress here and I went along with her when she picked it out and for her first fitting and we also got our bridesmaid dresses here. It was a good experience when she picked her dress; there were 6 of us including the bride and they served us cupcakes and champagne and the girl helping her seemed to do a good job and she found her dress after only trying on a few. She said her dress came in really quickly and her first fitting went well, too and she got all of her alterations done through the lady that does them at Lainneemeg. Unfortunately things didn't go quite as smoothly with our bridesmaid dresses. She had 7 bridesmaids and 6 of us went to pick them out in April (her wedding is the beginning of October); we settled on a charcoal strapless chiffon dress with a braided bodice. One of the bridesmaids took a really long time to go in and order her dress, I think it took her almost 6 weeks to finally go in and get measured and I think they were waiting to send the order off to the designer until they were able to order her dress along with the rest of them. The bride and I work together and about 3 weeks ago (3 weeks before the wedding) I mentioned to her that I still hadn't been called by the dress shop. She called them and they told her the owner would have to call her back (scary!) She called her back a few minutes later and told her "I don't want you to panic, but the designer never made your bridesmaid dresses." What!? 3 weeks before the wedding and this is just being noticed?? She said that the designer never fulfilled the order but that it was ultimately her fault and she would make it right. She ordered a replacement dress which is similar but not the same as the dress we all choose. I think we realized that the dresses hadn't been ordered on a Wednesday or Thursday and they were able to get this replacement dress in the following Tuesday and we were all able to go in for alterations and I got my dress yesterday and her wedding is tomorrow. But the whole experience has been stressful for everyone involved, especially the bride. We were all concerned that the dress would be the wrong color, that it wouldn't fit someone since it was from a totally different designer, that we wouldn't have enough time for alterations (and one of the bridesmaids is 9 months pregnant and all of us needed to at least have the dress hemmed.) The owner also ordered the original dress, but wasn't able to get it in until October 1st or something, way too late for 7 of us to get alterations and everything. The owner also didn't make us pay the remaining balance on our dress which was 40%. I'm not sure if the dress we ended up with was more or less expensive than the original one. I think that they should have noticed that the dresses hadn't arrived sooner, maybe then we would have had time to get the original dress in time for the wedding and I think everyone would be a little bit more comfortable. But the owner did get us a similar dress in time for the wedding. In the end we all have matching dresses that are similar in color to the original and they fit all of us. We're all mostly satisfied with the dress, though I think everyone likes the original dress quite a bit more than the one we ended up with. I'm now engaged and I'm still deciding whether or not to look for a wedding dress at Laineemeg. My friend did have a pretty good experience getting her wedding dress, so I'm considering it despite the problems we had with the bridesmaid dresses. Especially since I saw a dress I really loved at my last fitting. My advice would be to stay in contact with the shop frequently to verify that your order has been placed and also try to get an idea of when the order will come in so you can stay on top of them if it's late so this doesn't happen to someone else. read more

When I didn't find the ideal dress at the wedding show, I went to their store in Snohomish. Not only was the store adorable, it wasn't overcrowded with people or dresses. It was very well organized and the salespeople let you go pick out what you think you wan; after trying on a few, they give suggestions and pull additional dresses for you. They offered a lovely bright red champagne cocktail, which they let you drink while trying on dresses!!! I had so much fun at my appointment and found a fabulous dress that I am so excited about. To start off, I have to admit that I went to several shops and tried on one too many gowns before I came here. I absolutely love the shop, the lighting makes it feel brighter and open and how the gowns are arranged make it so that you aren't totally overwhelmed with all of the dresses. Other shops have rows upon rows of dresses, and you can feel like you don't know where to start. The girls that helped were knowledgeable and friendly and the dresses were gorgeous. The only thing that could detract from your experience is if you go on a really warm day, the shop can get hot and they don't have AC. I had gone wedding dress shopping at about 4 different salons before I made my way up to Snohomish to From the Gown Up. Zerlinda was absolutely fabulous as the consultant for my wedding dress. She listened to my vision of my wedding dress and pulled several dresses that matched exactly what I wanted in different ways. I didn't feel any pressure to make a decision on the spot, which is a lot different than many other salons! I ended up buying the dress of my dreams and had an AMAZING experience with the whole thing! I went back with my mom and my sister to try on bridesmaid's dresses. It was BY FAR the best customer service of the 4 places we went. Jen was excellent at picking out what we were liking and not liking about the dresses we pulled and found a few different options (things we would have never tried on!) that turned out to be some of our favorites! She even got my mom (who does NOT wear dresses) to try on a few dresses as possibilities for the wedding. We had so much fun and really appreciated the amazing customer service. Customer service is lacking. First time we called to make an appt for a specific day and time, person who answered phone said nothing was available that particular day and then hung up. Called back a couple of times and never got an answer. Finally had to email them 2 times to get an appt. Got to our appt and picked dresses to try on. Didn't like them so the consultant picked some. She kept bringing in dresses that had things on them that my daughter specifically said she didn't want. Last dress she brougjt,in my daughter ended up loving it and we bought dress. I had to ask if there was veils and accessories. It felt like we were putting her out since she had to look for a veil. Finally got everything order, dress came in. That part was good as dress came in quicker than anticipated. Went in to try on dress and pick up. My daughter was a little short for dress nd it needed hemming. The sales associate said that shod be no problem it would be very easy to alter. NOT! The dress was a trumpet dress for someone who has a tall silhouette. We never realized that because my daughter is short. So it never looked like that when she tried it on. They never should have sold that dress to someone who is short on stature. And it couldn't be hemmed as they indicated! The dress had to be cut at the waist and then totally reconstructed! And we only found one person who would take that on and it costed an additional $850. The shop and sales associates are very awkward to deal with and only care about the sell. They will get no referrals from me. Also met someone else (after our experience) whose daughter also got a dress there and they had to do a ton of alterations to the dress they got too! I did not have a pleasant experience with this shop and I would not recommend them to anyone. We had several incidents which is a bride's worst nightmare. First off I wanted to use this shop to help support it since I am big on supporting the community and their local businesses. So I purchased my dress as well as hired Zerlinda to do day of coordinating. I was not going to hire a coordinator for the simple fact I was trying to save money but she presented me with an offer I couldn't resist. She was going to give me day of coordinating as well as work with me during my wedding process to design and style it all. And would make that all come to play the day of, all at the discounted day of coordinator price. Lower price for more service, I jumped at the offer. A few weeks later I brought my bridal party in to have them try on dresses and purchase them. Needless to say only three out of the five could even fit in them. I was so embarrassed as a bride for my girls that she didn't offer larger sizes in her sample line. They were so embarrassed but were trying to put a happy face on so I wasn't upset. Zerlinda told them that all her dresses are handmade and she insured them that she measured so well they wouldn't even need to have alterations done. Well needless to say we got the dresses and NONE of the dresses were handmade. They are the same brands you can purchase at other bridal stores. But not only that, they were all HUGE! And I'm not talking one size to big were talking two-three sizes to big! I called down to the shop and Zerlinda told me to have them call the alterations lady and work with her. Not let me reorder the dresses in the correct sizes, or let me pay for the alterations for each of them! Nope, just call the alterations gal. REALLY! And this is the owner of the shop. Who runs their business like that? Then my second horror came when I called to tell her I was coming down to pick up my veil I had ordered months ago which had just arrived the week before to find out she ordered the wrong one and it had been sitting in the shop for over a week before she reorder a new one. And the worst of it all was we had to fire her six weeks before our wedding for her so called coordinating services because in all the months she was suppose to be working on my wedding she kept pushing it aside and when we pressed the subject she would say she wanted more money. And when she was fired she then said she would do everything for free. Really! Everyone had been pleading including my know husband to fire her but I was trying to keep my word and support her business....Bad mistake on my part! All we ever heard was I'm going to need more money and then when it came down to being fired she offered to do everything know for free! I don't think so! So in all I would say if you want a pleasant experience and to have the peace of mind during your wedding process I would look somewhere else. You will also notice she comments that she saved us thousands. What she failed to mention is that our lawyer with his time and research. She just presented the information from our lawyer to the catering company. Not much else was done. I've had such a great experience with From the Gown Up. Zerlinda, pronounced "sara-linda" is a great business owner who is thoughtful and professional with a little spunk. Her staff is great and I'm pretty sure their arms are buff from carrying those heavy dresses. The service doesn't just stop at the sale. Zerlinda makes sure the whole process is exceptional. The main reason this store is a one star is mainly because of their disrespectful customer service. Because of the terrible experience I had, I'll break it down to fully explain. GREETING: When we got there, there was a friendly lady who greeted us and went to get our consultant. While we were waiting, we were looking around at potential dresses. The consultant, Jen, came out and introduced herself. From the moment we got there, she wasn't as excited as other bridal salon's have been during a fitting. She took us to another room to explain how it would go, gave us a couple rings so we could put them on the dresses I wanted to try on, and let us on our way to pick some out. Once that was done, it was time to try on dresses. FITTING: The way they do their fitting is that they leave you in the room and make you put on the dress yourself. When you are ready, then they come in to help zip up the dress. This is fine, but it made me feel like I was alone in the fitting. Once I had the dress on, I walked out in front of the mirror to show my friends. One thing that stood out was that the consultant, Jen, DIDN'T TALK TO ME ABOUT ANY OF THE DRESSES I TRIED ON. Usually other bridal salons would talk about the fabric, specifics about the dress, but a lot of the times at Laineemeg, THE CONSULTANT WALKED AWAY. There was one time I was talking about what I liked or didn't like about the dress but realized Jen, the consultant, LEFT THE ROOM. This happened multiple times and left me to wonder about the dresses I was trying on. I didn't feel comfortable talking about the dresses because Jen didn't seem so excited about anything I was trying on. The entire appointment felt like she could care less about me finding the dress of my dreams. She was literally only there to zip up the dresses. DRESSES: There was one dress that I wanted to try on which was in the window of the store! I actually flew into town and after my sister mentioned seeing the dress at LaineeMag, I had to go try it on! We asked if we could try it on and Jen told us that she couldn't take it off because of the Holidays. This didn't make ANY sense, why show a dress in the window if you aren't going to let a bride try it on? She mentioned that she would ask the manager, but then never mentioned it again until we asked. We asked her and she said no, they won't be able to take it off. After being SUPER disappointed, we asked again and she went to FINALLY ask the manager. The manager, and the consultant Jen came out and they BOTH told me that I wouldn't like the dress. I felt like they were both trying to sway me away from trying on a dress that I wanted to try on. At that point I felt so defeated and disrespected that I told them I was done with the appointment and didn't want to try on any more dresses. Even after telling the manager that I didn't want to try it on she took it off the mannequin only after she realized I was pretty upset and disappointed. END OF APPT: Towards the end of the appointment, the manager took lead of the appointment without telling me why the consultant wasn't there. I finally asked and she said she's pregnant.....okay? I felt like the entire time they were giving me excuses. OVERALL: I've been to two other bridal salons and have never ever experienced being so disappointed. As a bride to be, you want to feel welcomed and ready to try on and hopefully find the dress of your dreams. If you don't care about customer service, then come here since they have beautiful dresses. However, if you want the entire experience, I wouldn't recommend coming here. I felt like the people are rude, not welcoming, and unhelpful. I did, however, find a dress that I loved but I won't be buying it here because of the experience. read more

I purchased my wedding dress here after going to a couple other shops. I have insecurities about my body, as most women do, but they made me feel relaxed and confident! I loved my dress, it fit me perfectly! When I came for the first fitting, the dress was a touch to big, and I started doubting if I made the right call, but they assured me that alterations would be able to fix it and boy were they right! Based on the reviews, this shop sounded like exactly what I was looking for to go shopping. I was never the girl who couldn't wait to try on dresses - rather, I was incredibly uncomfortable being the center of attention and having to put on a bunch of dresses. Also, I was already irritable that day, so it started off on the wrong foot. From the beginning Stephanie was fantastic and excited about my wedding; the best part about her personality was that it was 100% genuine and she was not just trying to get me to buy a dress. I tried on at least 7 before I even came out in one and ended up requiring more time in my appointment because I was difficult. Zerlinda ended up helping with the appointment because of some of the dresses as well and she was fantastic herself! I loved how blunt she was about things and was incredibly knowledgeable. I didn't buy a dress that first day because I was torn, and ended up going to another shop, but booked an appointment for the following week to come back and try it on again. They were very clear that I could cancel if I changed my mind, but that I should have one just in case. I ended up going to another place, which was a great experience as well, then coming back to Laineemeg and buying my dress. I had a wonderful experience with them and would highly recommend it. I came into this shop after shopping at Davids Bridal and wanted to get away from the big box bridal styles and try a more intimate boutique. I came here specifically because their store front window advertises "plus size bridal" so I was thinking great! I went in and was greeted by a nice gal who was going to help me with my fitting. We rounded the corner to the fitting area and there was LOADS of people there and we were in the middle of the room, I totally felt like I was on display to more than just my loved ones that came with me. The gal pointed out the wall and said "these are the ones that will.....fit you." It's okay to say plus size baby, I accept who I am. She also made a point to note that the other rack wouldnt fit me...gee thanks. I picked out a few dresses with the little shower rings that they give you and they were lovely. Once she took me into the fitting room, she handed me the dress to slip into and she would be back. Well I dont know if anyone has ever tried getting in a ballgown by yourself, but it is not an easy task. I had to have my mom come in and help me because the gal was no where to be found. The next dress she tried to put me in was a very fitted mermaid which i specifically said absolutely NO to. She convinced me to try on different styles because I dont know what they look like until I try. She tried squeezing it over my butt and said "oops this isnt going to work with that booty." This made me feel absolutely lovely about myself (kidding). And I felt a bit "told ya so" after that. I know my body better than anyone, after all. I called my mom into the fitting area and broke down in tears, this was going horribly. My mom didn't want to me be upset, so we gathered our things and left the shop. Additionally, I was shopping here on a hot august day and they have no AC. Putting those big wedding dresses on, I was SWEATING MY ASS OFF. Overall, they claim to accomodate plus size bridal but this is absolutely not the case. They were rude, insensitive and incredibly pushy to make a sale. It's been over a year since I have been married and I should have written something sooner. After recently being apart of a friends dress experience it made me really realize what a lackluster experience I had at Laineemeg Bridal. I had called in advance to ask if they provided strapless bras, or support options and was told yes that they did. However upon arrival, rather then even asking if I needed an alternate bra option the consultant commented on how great my bra choice was, very sarcastically because it was pink. I laughed it off not paying much mind to it really. After a few dresses it was very clear how great a "sales person" the consultant was. Saying every dress looked great and being transparently insincere. However, I did find a great dress that I fell in love with. During the process of purchase the consultant led with "I am a bad date so you might have to call back to see when we will get the dress in", should have known right there! How on earth is it ok to say to a Bride that you are a bad date when she just dropped hundreds of dollars on a small business? Not to mention that they have ton of other things going on and you should be doing everything you can to insure her with your abilities. I work in customer service and know that this is not even something one jokes about. Needless to say my dress was 2 months late coming in! I called 4 times. I called to ask they said they had no control over it, but I shouldn't worry, but they still had no idea when the dress would come in. I worked with the seamstress that the shop had recommended. First appointment went just fine. When I cam back to pick up my dress for the second appointment I was flat out lied to. It was hemmed but the shoulders had not been altered and the seamstress tried to blame it on the fact I was wearing a different bra. I gave the benefit of the doubt and believed that that could have been it. Not until I left did I realize the dress wasn't event pressed yet, so obviously it was not ready for me to pick up. I was coming from Seattle for each appt. When I came the 3rd time the dress fit great, however it was WET because she had just pressed it. Why on earth would you have someone try on a wet dress!! Needless to say I was done I just wanted my dress and to get out of there. This is a one time experience that you should never have to compromise for! You always hear that finding your wedding dress is supposed to be an amazing experience. When you finally find the dress that is "the dress" you know. Well, I knew the dress I picked was the dress but my experience was far from amazing. I was so excited to visit From the Gown Up as I was recommended there by a friend who said they were amazing and very helpful. Their website looked promising as well. It promised to make it a helpful, personable, and approachable experience. It was none of the above. We arrived were asked our budget and told to just look at dresses. When I picked a few I liked they stuck them in a dressing room and told me to try them on. Every other place I had been to to look at wedding dresses had offered me the proper undergarments and helped me get into all the dresses. I had to ask for a strapless bra and have my mother help me put on the dresses and help me figure it out. After I'd tried on the first dress I had one of my bridesmaids call and make me another appointment that day for a different place as I was so upset with the customer service. I decided to try on a few more dresses to see if I could get a better idea of what I wanted. I fully intended on leaving without purchasing. However, I did find my dress. We decided to purchase it and left the shop, but the whole dress experience was ruined for me. When I received a call that my dress was in I made an appointment to go pick it up and try it on. Upon trying it on I noticed many little strings all over the lace part. I was assured alterations would take care of it. I felt rushed and felt like we weren't wanted there. My mom and I had gone in with open minds again and were let down. It was particularly disheartening when I saw another bride being sat down and talked to about what sort of dress she was looking for. I never got any of that. We left with my dress and once again my dress shopping experience was ruined even more. When I got the dress home I was very excited to show my dad who noticed another snag in the dress on the satin of the dress. Needless to say I will not be doing anymore business with them. I couldn't wait to get out of there and be done. Hopefully the rest of my wedding planning will be much more enjoyable. read more

If you appreciate good customer service, feeling comfortable and respected... Do not choose to visit Laineemeg Bridal. On my first visit to laineemeg I was very excited. It was my very first time looking at dresses in person and trying any on. I came with my bridesmaids and had an appointment. I was recommended to them by a girl I know through friends who had bought her dress here .. She must have had a pleasant experience but unfortunately I did not. She told me that when you go in to try on dresses you are the only one in the shop and have a one on one with the owner. This wasn't the case.. There were tons of people in the shop walking around and there was another "bride to be" trying on gowns. I figured .."it's a Saturday, they probably do one on one during the week." Anyways, that was the least of the issues. I was greeted by two girls, I didn't know who was technically helping me the entire time. One girl was clearly being trained... I always give the benefit of the doubt and was trying not to be too judgmental of her customer service because I could tell she was nervous or something. Anyways they started out by stuffing this awkward big foam roller into the back of the dress (the samples are larger in size). I couldn't stand that because it made the back of the dress look so strange and it made it hard to picture what it looked like. I soon asked for clips and they agreed. However, from start to finish while trying on dresses I could tell the girl helping me was nervous and she didn't provide much help. It in turn made me feel uncomfortable and unsure of what I was doing. Also, I could see the other girl trying on dresses and that was kind of odd to me. In the end I found a dress I really loved and decided to make a second appointment to come back in at a later date when my mom would be in town to visit. Second visit: I had my second appointment on a Friday afternoon. This time the shop was empty other than the owner. So far, so good. I told her my name (she claimed to have never met me. I get you don't remember every face that walks in, but you don't need to be rude about it) and I explained that it was my second appointment but I was trying on more dresses this time to get a better variety. I thought she might proceed by asking me some questions or helping me look for dresses to try on but she just sat there. I found about 6 dresses to try on on my own and went from there. During my try on, the thing that put me off was the way she talked to me. She knew a lot about dresses/designers but she talked to me like a high school girl who was gossiping and it just didn't feel sweet or comfortable to me. I looked at one dress and she actually said, "oh, don't try that on!" I left the shop with an unsure feeling about the shop but still knew I loved the dress I had found. I did my research on the designer I loved and found that the only other place to carry them was the Nordstrom wedding suite. I decided to make an appointment there to see how it was in comparison. I had that appointment and was blown away by the customer service! So helpful, sweet, and knowledgable. Up until this morning I was actually still debating to buy my dress from laineemeg or Nordstrom. I liked my experience at Nordstrom much better, they both had the dress I wanted, Nordstrom was a better location for me, but I liked the idea of supporting a local, small business like Laineemeg. THEN today I went to the Seattle wedding show. I see the Laineemeg stand and get excited to show my future Mother in law the dress I liked. I walk up, the owner was in conversation with a few other girls, so I looked at a different dress and said to my friend who was with us, "I tried this one on I think?" ... The owner literally stopped her convo with her other potential customers, whipped her head around and in the rudest voice, interrupted my convo to my friend, and exclaimed "Um, no you didn't. We JUST got that one in." I looked at her rather startled and proceeded to explain that I had tried on a similar style (it was a Hayley Paige dress that I had tried on, and the new one was just different material, but essentially the same shape). I said that to her and she just made a smug face and turned back to the other girls. I was stunned by her rudeness, especially considering I had met her now twice in person and tried on dresses with her. I walked away and instantly realized I would not sacrifice the joy I want to experience when purchasing my wedding gown to support a business with poor (VERY poor) customer service. This woman, I presume is the owner, in my experience was unpleasant, snooty, a poor listener, and does not care about others experience or feelings when speaking to them. Laineemeg is a quaint shop that had nice curb appeal and good designers, but if you appreciate any customer service or just nice people in general, I would stray away from going here. Also, I have heard from two close sources that their tailoring is horrible. read more
