Initially, I was SURE I knew what I wanted, after multiple failures and not really liking the way things looked on me, the stylist convinced me to try on basically the opposite of what I *thought* I wanted.... it looked incredible. Although I was not the only customer there, I left feeling like I got the most personal service. The buy, rent, and on sale gowns where all of equal quality and well priced. I've tried both calling and emailing, but no one has gotten back to me. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and is far from the level of service I expected from a rental service. The clothes came in terrible condition.

Ironically, the people are not the friendliest in the Ballard location- I've shopped there for years but am often ignored by the hipster sales staff even if I'm the only other person. My experience at the University is the opposite- super friendly cashier who was warm and welcoming. They have a beautiful website and Instagram page so there's lots of options to explore this exquisite (but sometimes snooty) business.

The staff were very helpful, researched the old suit jacket and was able to order the pants (on clearance) to the store for alterations. Next was the new suit. Being 6'4", this could be a challenge. Ended up trying on half a dozen suits. Had to order the coat but had the pants. Returned a week later for alteration measurements. 2 weeks later, a new suit and a new pair of dress pants. And the price was reasonable. All together, 4 really competent staff helped out.

But then, I returned recently while visiting family, and had a wonderful experience. The tenant greeted us warmly, and explained which pieces were for sale and which were only for rental. She gave us some recommendations for other shops in the area as well. She was just so sweet! I tried on a selection of items, and settled on a vintage red mod dress. It was fairly priced, at about $50, and the dress was in good condition. I packed it in my suitcase, and flew home to the east coast... when I put it on for work for the first time, I felt something stabbing into my hip! I took the dress off, flipping it inside out. I pulled open the side seam allowance, and there was a huge, rusty metal clothes pin in the seam. It stabbed me! I love the dress, but I was disappointed that the shop didn't spot the pin at intake. It could have been dangerous! Overall I have positive feelings about the shop, but if you purchase second hand from here, please be sure to look over your clothing before wearing it. I'd hate for someone else to be stabbed!
