I had the catfish dinner with collard greens and loaded baked potatoe. The two large filets were perfectly cooked and the collards were very good too. Not cooked all day, but very tender. Even the stems were tender. The only detractor was that they are currently in a temporary location, so not on the water. But the food and service offset that temporary issue. My wife had Grilled Grouper. She enjoyed her meal too. The Fried Green Tomato Appetizer was probably the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, large meaty texture slices. They were mouth watering. It is always great when a restaurant is proud of their health score and will post it in a highly visible spot. Their "A" rating is right there on the door when you enter the establishment. Keep up the great food & service "The Lakehouse". I would love to return once you are back on the lake. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

From the first phone inquiry to the experience in the restaurant, the people were genuinely polite and welcoming. The atmosphere felt calm, relaxed, and easy. The food exceeded expectations. The Cobb salad was especially good - fresh, well-balanced, and thoughtfully put together, with healthy ingredients and no bacon, which I appreciated. The shrimp tacos were excellent, topped with a slightly sweet/spicy, mysterious sauce that worked really well. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!!!

The exposed brick, wood tables, and industrial-style lighting give it a cozy, rustic feel without trying too hard. We started with the fried zucchini and catfish bites, and both were really good and came out nice and crispy. I ordered the chicken cutlet with lemon butter and capers, and the chicken was probably my favorite part of the meal. Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and the lemon butter and capers gave it plenty of flavor. The roasted veggies were good, but they were a little too firm for my taste. A few more minutes cooking and they would've been perfect. My husband had the Smash Burger with extra grilled onions and tried the sweet potato fries. He wasn't a big fan of the sweet potato fries, so he ended up getting regular fries instead and liked those much better. Our waitress was wonderful, friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely a solid 4-star experience. There were a couple little things we'd change, but nothing that would keep us from coming back. Good food, nice portions, great service, and a really comfortable atmosphere. We'd definitely stop in again when we're in St. George.

Someone down below said sometimes it gets five stars from there and sometimes, not so much. That is reflected in the overall rating, it seems. I gave it four stars overall because when they're on, it's a great place to eat. I am not an overall fan of pizza, but I love the pepperoni pizza from here. Most of the time I get a fried chicken sandwich with homestyle fries (they have to be homestyle) and it is excellent. Tonight was busier than expected for a Monday, but I do worry about them keeping this store open. They once had others in Gaston and Pelion, but the one in Swansea is the last one currently open. There's not a lot of ride by traffic at its location unless you see the sign and turn off of 321 to check it out. We started with the fried pickles, a favorite appetizer that we get there. Tonight, they were overfried and hard to eat. I got a Chef Salad and it was good as always. It was very fresh and crisp and the ranch dressing, which I believe is homem made, was excellent as always. It was very affordable and the serving was huge, more than I could eat, with a huge helping of ham and turkey. I took a photo of it, but it's blurry. The picture, not the actual salad.

I've been here multiple times and did not like it. This trip was no different. We had a large group of 16 and it started there. Was told a 2hr wait. If we split in to groups of 8 we'd be seated in 45. Took this option. Actually got seated in about 25 minutes seperately. (A table of 8 that was right next to us was vacant and NEVER got used for the entire 90 minutes or so that we stayed at the restaurant so why not accommodate our group? - strike one) Our waitress I'm told was very chippy with an attitude toward some party members. (I didnt get any attitude toward me) but heard a few people stating how she was answering people's requests and how unpleasant she was. - Strike two. The food. I ordered the meatloaf nachos (which were good). I also ordered the fried pork chops w/ side salad. Loading up on fake bacon bits (like 1000 pieces) doesnt make the salad better. This is a hint to their kitchen. The pork chops were dry and the "red skinned" mash potatoes" (which I do not remember the menu stating that they were red skinned potatoes which would mean SKIN would be present in the mash. Otherwise I would not have ordered this. ALSO, their baked beans.......this was the worst part of the meal. I am expecting some version of beans with a bbq base or similar...instead I got some sort of bean SOUP which was totally inedible in my opinion. Whole meal was trash. Strike three. My 83 year old father said at the end of the meal "worst meal I've ever had". Which I had him repeat to the table just in case anyone thought it was just me. $700 with tip for the quality is a bit much. I will never ever return no matter what my siblings say.
