From what I understand, that is the #1 thing that will end up causing a tear in the vinyl- aside from an unforeseen object tearing it. There were omitted from the contract in order to "make the bid fit our budget for a partial inground/ above ground pool. We were led to believe our lower price was due to ordering a significantly smaller pool. When Brent left the pool in a mess with several mistakes, I asked him to return to complete the job. After a lot of angry defensiveness on the phone, Brent returned to "complete the pool" we paid for. Rather than being professional and completing the job, Brent started with again being confrontational. To begin with, he had omitted backfilling the dirt around our pool in the contract without mentioning or clearing such an important detail with us. That turned out to be a blessing since we were then informed we were not supposed to put the "Native Soil" back around the pool. Especially in the large muddy clumps he left it in. We have clay soil out here as much of Texas does. The engineer then explained clay expands and retracts with water/weather (makes sense). Brent put the pump in the wrong location and then moved it to where we preferred it (out of vision & under our patio awning, above the pool). Turns out the pump should always be level with the pool or below. Brent Dennis put it about two feet above simply to appease us without explaining it shouldn't be there. He then used PVC to lead it to the pool... the dirt blew off (supposed to be buried at least 12 inches) leaving us with exposed plumbing ... I could go on & on. But my post is acting wonky. You get the idea. Look around. Pay a couple thousand more & get a quality pool. If you're in the DFW/ Dallas area, do not use ALL AROUND POOLS w/ Brent Dennis. He yelled at us and threw fits that actually scared us. We are now looking at this mess in our backyard. We are so sad.

This is after my family and I had waited for months on another company that was supposed to do the repair. Even with confusion with this other company about the exact location of the leak, David was patient and attentive to the problems at hand. He and his crew efficiently and correctly found the leak, broke up the concrete deck to repair it, and filled it back in to an almost exact concrete match. Anyone planning to put in a pool in central Texas, please read our experience with a local Pool Contractor, Bryan Jenkins owner of VI Pools, before choosing. We were excited to finally put in our dream pool and started calling local pool companies last fall. All the known companies in the area were 6-9 months out with several weeks just to meet with them for a consultation. A mutual friend, unsolicited, messaged me that he heard we were looking for a pool company and recommended Bryan Jenkins with VI Pools. I called Bryan and he came over within a week. His 3D pool presentation was impressive. We asked what his wait time was and he said he could start right away. I asked why he was available now when everyone else is 6-9 months out and he explained he had just hired a second crew and was running 2 crews simultaneously. That made sense to us. We had looked at his website and FB page and noticed there were no reviews. We asked him about that and his answer was he had just created them and didn't really maintain them. Not having any "negative"reviews posted, we signed the contract. We broke ground on January 6, 2021 and as of June 10, 2021 he was still not done with our pool and had left us with major mistakes. Bryan, in emails, text messages that we have and phone calls promised he would do what is right and fix the major mistakes created by his sub contractors, he never did. Bryan claimed the reason it was taking an extraordinarily long time to finish our pool was due to the weather and the industry being too busy. However, we know 5 people in central Texas who started their pool after we did and were done months before ours was done. In the end, there were too many major mistakes that he was not correcting so we consulted our bank lender and we all agreed we needed to fire him and move on with another contractor. We notified Bryan on June 10th, 2021 that we had contacted an attorney, we no longer trusted him to correct the major mistakes he and his subs caused, nor to finish the pool. Because we were so close to being finished, other pool companies we contacted did not want to come finish his job because they could not warranty the pool with the major mistakes he left behind. We had to finish the pool and correct his mistakes ourselves. Not only are we out thousands and thousands of dollars, we have to live with some mistakes that cannot be fixed. We asked Bryan to do the professional and honorable thing and finish our pool and correct his mistakes and in the end he never did. What should have been an exciting and great experience turned out to be a nightmare for us. It took him 7 months to "finish" our pool and in the end he actually never finished it. We contacted licensed subcontractors to come out to correct the major mistakes Bryan made and in their professional opinion, they could not believe the job he let us with. There are too many mistakes and code violations to list on here, however, one of the major mistakes was the deck around the pool that had to be busted up and removed and Re poured correctly by another licensed concrete contractor. See pictures below. This has become a huge issue in Texas because to date they do not require pool contractors to be licensed which can lead to incurring major mistakes like we did. I'm writing this because numerous people have asked us who built our pool and would we recommend them, NO we do not recommend Bryan Jenkins with VI Pools.

Alan and Kim both showed up right on time, diagnosed the issue within 10 minutes and the repair was finished in 2 hours. Alan is the most knowledgeable dude, and it was evident that he had decades of experience. I got an upgrade in my outdated spa equipment, and the parts were already on the truck. Tues Jan 21st message to get an update on delivery and told there's no way I can be scheduled as they are booked 2 weeks out and my previous message about wanting to be scheduled was missed... my advice is call them multiple times to make sure you have the most up to date information.
