We've had the unfortunate experience of to using Lake Appliance, due to our warranty company hiring them. It's been over two months. They have ordered the wrong parts. Canceled several appointments to come back and diagnose the issue so that more parts can get ordered. I understand that we all make mistakes. However, the communication with this company has been horrendous. I believe they have AI and a virtual assistant who don't understand what's going on, communicating with us. My roommate scheduled to have our LG fridge repaired over a week in advance, and even took off work to make sure he was home. They were scheduled to arrive between 8AM and 12PM (4 hour windows, really?). They never showed up, and did not call or text. This company is efficient and reliable. Tyler did a superior job in diagnosing my issue with he LED lights on my Whirlpool refrigerator. He even gave me the number of the manufacturer to see if the parts I needed were covered by a warranty. At the same time he gave me an estimate for repair and parts I needed in order to solve my problem. After calling the manufacture and discovering the parts were not covered (of course) I called him back and told him to proceed with repairs. Finding a decent applicance repair person in Bozeman is like trying to find a lifeboat on the Titanic, you know they exists but they're all full. However, Chris at Lake Applicance had just the lifeboat I needed. He worked tirelessly to fix my fridge water dispenser. It had the drippidy drips, non COVID related of course. Chris worked through the problem making multiple trips until it was as water tight as the Kursk, before it sank of course. Chris even admitted he didn't order the correct part and that he'd have to come back. That there is a Captain taking charge. He was prepared to go down with the ship. We have had this company out to repair the ice maker in our LG fridge for over 2 months now and it is still not fixed. We have spent HOURS on the phone with their incompetent and dismissive customer service. I have emailed the owners and still no resolution. Terrible. They told me they would refund the initial tech visit call after the work was complete as it was a warranty claim. I was also told to order a part directly from Whirlpool as it was on back order and they said my chances of receiving it sooner would be greater if I did. The catch was I had to pay for the part myself. Turns out they went back on their word to reimburse for the tech visit on top of refusing to cover the part (which they would've had to pay for had I not ordered it directly per their advice). I got a second opinion from Stone's Appliance in Bozeman and he fixed my washer with a $20 part and 1/2 hour of work. I had to pay $125 for Lake to look at my washer and they wouldn't answer any of my emails about their guarantee of diagnosis. We had a drier issue that still has not been repaired in three and a half months. 5 out 6 times Lake Appliance has rescheduled. Not once have I received a call letting us know they weren't coming and have instead had to track down them and reschedule, which means many minutes on hold as they try to figure out what is going on. We have been having issues with our Samsung dishwasher at our office. A lot of appliance repair companies don't work on Samsung, because of the many complicated problems that come with them and what I've experienced personally in the past. If zero stars were possible that is what I would give. No heat in a dryer.. called Lake. They would be there is 5 days between 8 and noon, $125 service call fee which could be applied to the work would be charged. The repairperson came and said that the heating element is bad AND it would be $490 to repair this. I know this is an obvious fix and would take about 30 min to an hour. They said the part was $200 (not true less than $100 and if you buy from Amazon it is $30) and labor was the rest. I need a dryer badly but I must stand up to a company that takes advantage of people. I paid the $125 and said thank you. For seventy dollars more than the Lake quote I can buy a new dryer but they know the wait in Bozeman is 3 weeks. I would NEVER call this company.
