We were told we could bring him in as soon as we were ready. When we arrived and were greeted at the door by Jo-Lynne who immediately gave us hugs and compassion. The way we were treated was amazing in the time when we needed compassion, caring, and empathy. She is truly where she is meant to be as an angel for those experiencing such grief and sadness. She told us that she would put him first on the list and she called us hours later to pick up his ashes and made paw prints for us and one for our daughter. At first we decided with the cremation process, days later decided to have a burial instead. Loosing someone is already tough as it is and planning a funeral is hard when we're grieving in the process. The "Flowers by Mateo" were absolutely beautiful. Everyone was amazed with them! Every detail of the service was just how we wanted. Matthew made suggestions, answered any questions we had, and addressed any concerns. The funeral home was very clean, elegant and spacious. Mr.Fisher(if thats how its spelled IDK) is the best, and keeps the very best employees to maintain his yard.He has done so many renovations and always has flowers on each and every grave..even the people who dont seem to have family that come to visit them.. Death is a harsh reality but it's something we can not avoid.I think its always comforting to have a place to visit loved ones that reminds you of heaven on earth.. and also have a sweet reminder of how well your grave will be taken care of after you've made your departure into the hereafter . I arrived an hour and 20 minutes after our conversation and was greeted by Nyjiela Sirreayah who is the family service counselor for Windridge. Nyjiela drove me around the cemetery asking me questions where I thought my mom was buried, which was very upsetting. I knew the general area, but she proceeded to drive me around asking a lot of leading questions regarding my family tree. I was then taken to the records location and presented with an incomplete file which sparked more questions, which was very unsettling, because it was an interrogation, a breach of trust for a counselor. The information regarding my family tree was given to Tina. Nyjiela showed me a ritual to do when I got home, took me to my mother's grave and abruptly left. LS

This time, OMG... the girl in the office - terrific, sweet, very nice. but whoever does the cremation, either cannot follow the directions or, is a true I don't give a care person. Left our boy in his basket, same basket I have been using for every dog for years. Always get it back. This time I was informed he disposed of it. I did tell the nice young lady, that this was not acceptable-her response was I am sorry. But now as I read all the bad reviews. when will they get a better back room guy? Or is it time to just find another place to take our babies?

What a warm, friendly person Emma is. Emma used a new computer program and was able to design his headstone, then add the color and material. When she was finished, we knew exactly what was going to be placed on his grave. I'm leaving this review because she stepped in with knowledge regarding every single detail. None of which I knew. Recently, I reached out to him to for some contact information to have some grave makers made for some family members who didn't have proper identification. Ascension is a Catholic Cemetery, located in the Northern Chicago suburbs. It is a very large…read moreproperty, and the city/suburban sprawl has yet to encroach on its grounds. It's very peaceful and it is set back far enough from busy Buckley road to maintain that. We have family buried here, and can tell from experience that having such a well-maintained, much visited holy place lets you focus on the reasons why you are there. We also needed to also take care of some administrative business, so stopped by the office (open during normal business hours), and Renata was very kind and patient as we worked it out. As these things go, it will take time to work through it, but we feel a lot more comfortable knowing we will be working with Renata and her colleagues to get it resolved.
